Exactly. My first thought was to wonder how many Palestinian people’s jobs will be affected by this performative politics.

The "1967 borders" were not borders. They were armistice lines: where the fighting stopped in 1948-49. They were not borders BECAUSE the Arabs refused to recognize Israel, refused to recognize an end to conflict, refused.

Britain was originally 1 of only two nations (the other was Pakistan) that recognized Jordan's illegal occupation and annexation of Judea and Samaria.

Britain pulling out of the British mandate in a way that would leave the Jews in a possibly deadly position is what stated most this mess. When you factor in all the other stuff British politicians have done that has been a hindrance to peace for both Arabs and Jews it is mind boggling.

So we just ignore the 'terrorists'(as Miliband called them) let them continue to kill innocent civillians, let them steal homes and then advertise them for sale across the UK, let them keep ethnically cleansing villages of Palestinian people then selling the fruit of their labour to shops across the UK but it's OK because we can give aid to the beaten and the bereaved and the displaced?

Or do you at least try and stop the terrorists so that Palestinians may finally have self determination of their own and don't need to be picked up off the ground after being beaten to a pulp by an Israeli extremist?

During the 2005 disengagement, when Israeli settlers left/were removed, the agricultural infrastructure they left behind (mainly vast acres of commercial greenhouses) was stripped and looted by Palestinians. What makes you think that similar wouldn’t occur again?

Why did Israel decide to bomb their airport and tear up the runway? Only allowing Palestinians to enter and leave their own land through Israel? Do you know any Palestinians who are only allowed to enter their homes through Israel? Do you know the shit they have to go through? I do.

Literally none of this gives Israeli terrorists the right to do what they are doing across the West Bank to innocent people. As Miliband said it's state supported ethnic cleansing of an illegally occupied population, do you think there is ever an excuse for that? What is the 'other side' to beating old ladies as they harvest their olives and burning out homes with families inside?

I don't agree with settle violence or their behaviour in general. It put back any chance of peace even further than it is now.

Nothing Red Ed says interests me. He has already been undermined quite rightly about this from his department. Reassurances that this is just a hollow gesture and won't affect much have gone out to those concerned.

The whole thing is about trying to win back voters from the Green party and only a little about anyone in the Middle East. Saying that British politicians have been a hindrance to middle Eastern peace for a long time and at some point this has to stop.
