Israel attacked Iran early on Saturday morning, saying it had “launched a pre-emptive strike against Iran to remove threats to the state of Israel,” according to a military spokesman.

Israel closed its airspace and declared a state of emergency, in anticipation of
Iranian drone and missile strikes in response.

Explosions were heard in Tehran on Saturday, Iranian media reported.

Has Trump said that they are no missiles left? No - he referred to stockpiled weapons (large quantities being stored, not saying there are absolutely none left.)

Has Trump ever mentioned all the launch sites have been destroyed.

I agree that anything that the Iranian regime states is not to believed as they sing from the same hymn sheet as Hamas (their protégées) do and make it up with a view to making their enemies look worse than they are in reality. However, Trump changes his point of view with the wind :-(

I’m sure most people would be happier if the US President’s words came from a mouth other than Trump’s. But that’s not the issue.

What’s happening - irrespective of Trump’s boasts - is that one of the top three of the world’s most obnoxious and murderous regimes, a massive tumour in the Middle East, is being bombed. Whether the regime will change we can’t be sure, though it may be nearer than we know. But whether it does or not, Iran’s military and WMD potential has been massively destroyed already. And will be further blown up in coming weeks.

He didn't - he mentioned the stockpile of weapons but didn't claim there were no missiles left at all. How could he when Iran are currently still sending missiles?

Nobody has said they support the regime so I don’t know why people keep saying that. It’s impossible to have a discussion on here so I’m not going to bother any more.

But it's pretty apparent that some people do. There was a massive rally in London yesterday in support of the regime organised by the usual Stop the War coalition and Palestinian Solidarity Campaign.

There have also been rallies in Birmingham and Manchester so yes, weirdly there are people in the UK who support the current regime in Iran.

Despite the fact the regime just murdered thousands of their own people just for doing what the protestors in the UK are doing!

The more general argument against the US/Israeli action is that it will create havoc and won’t work - that are better ways of trying to achieve the same ends.

But since no non-military method tried over many, many years has stopped the massive death toll and vast cost to the world of Iran’s terror networks or stopped its nuclear weapons ambitions, all of which everyone knows is true, objecting to the present action is to support Iran’s leadership. It’s really not difficult.

Being against the war does not mean being pro the Iranian regime.

Re the folk protesting against the killing of Ayatollah Khamenei.The way I have seen it explained is that for this sect of Islam, the guy is like the Pope. So his killing was really akin to Pope Leo being bombed in the Vatican.

Some of the protests in the UK have not just been anti the war but pro the current regime & Ayatollah.

Birmingham protesters burn Israeli flags at vigil for ayatollah

Pro-Iranian regime protesters set fire to the Israeli flag and chanted “death to the IDF” at a vigil for ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Birmingham.

Dozens of demonstrators gathered in the city on Thursday night to condemn the joint US-Israeli military action in Iran.

Carrying pictures of the Iranian leader and chanting “Allahu Akbar” (God is great), the group burned the Israeli flag before stamping on it. Organisers with megaphones also led chants of “bomb, bomb Tel Aviv”.

The scenes in Birmingham mirrored a similar protest held in Manchester the previous night when demonstrators burned images of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister.

The Manchester event, which was advertised as “honouring the ayatollah”, included representatives from Ahlul-Bayt Islamic societies (AbSocs), student-led groups affiliated with the dominant Shia sect of Islam in Iran.

None of this will work.

It will just deepen the already rife hatred accross the middle east and create new enemies that didn't exist before.

The Iranian people are not going to 'rise up' against the regime, the regime will just blow their heads off with an automatic weapon.

It's all futile.
