Israel attacked Iran early on Saturday morning, saying it had “launched a pre-emptive strike against Iran to remove threats to the state of Israel,” according to a military spokesman.

Israel closed its airspace and declared a state of emergency, in anticipation of
Iranian drone and missile strikes in response.

Explosions were heard in Tehran on Saturday, Iranian media reported.

Can you repost it please? I'm not seeing it on this thread.

I've found some Guardian links you posted on the other thread. This is what they say:

  • "Dozens of students were reportedly killed in a strike on a primary school in the south-east. Iranian media is reporting at least 201 people have been killed in total and 747 injured."

Bolding added by me. So no independent confirmation.

Edited

The strikes happened mainly at night so unlikely that pupils were in a school at the time. Sounds like Iranian propaganda to me. Amazing that in the video of the so called aftermath so many school bags survived intact after being in a explosion

Well if Pakistan wins this current war with Afghanistan...

You must be joking right? Yeah because Afghanistan surely needs more war. How did the last one work out for them?

You dont liberate a people by bombing them.

This entire thread is pro war propaganda. I find it very ignorant and extremely distasteful. Does anyone know what happened to the last democratically elected government in Iran? Why they dont have democracy? US-Uk regime change operation took them out. War is evil people!

No they didn’t happen at night.

I mean we’ll have to wait and see who struck this and the death toll. But the strikes happened during daylight hours.

"War is evil people!"
My father went to war, willingly.
He helped to liberate Belsen.
That was an extraordinary act.

Reuters, CNN and others now reporting the death of the Ayatollah, for those not wishing to trust Israeli sources.

Photographic Proof Shown To Trump And Netanyahu
The intelligence goes beyond verbal confirmation. According to a AFP wire reports citing two major Israeli TV networks, actual photographic evidence of Khamenei's recovered body has been obtained. These images were reportedly transmitted directly to US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as definitive proof of a successful strike.

I'm not sure what your point is?

He is dead.

Joining the Irabians in Tehran with the celebration 🍾

OrangeAxolotyl · 28/02/2026 22:35

Iranians in London and all over Europe are celebrating!

Agree
It happened in the morning whilst children ( up to the age of 12 ) were in school

The famous quote on Afghanistan is that "the only thing Afghans like more than fighting each other is fighting foreigners".

Honestly Afghanistan leaders would be perfectly fine with another war.

Since you find it 'distasteful' there's no need for you to comment. Israel has a democratically elected government and their next election is due in 2027.

If Iranians are celebrating have they got it wrong to do so? In your view

Watching the the Islamo leftists trying to protest against US military action against Iran yet confused and conflicted by Iranian citizens demonstrating their support for the US military action is literally like watching a computer glitch.

Isn't it? I've just seen pictures of Jeremy Corbyn at a pro (Ayatollah) Iranian protest. So he clearly supports Islamism, it would seem.

I believe he’s anti-war rather than pro-Iranian

No, they are entitled to respond how they see fit based on their experience. Im very against the IRGC but the celebrations in Iraq after the death of Sadam Hussain and in Libya after Gaddafi died didn't make those wars right.
Im very anti war, it causes so much fear and death and I dont think it can be justified.

It's always the same pattern - pointing out the humanitarian objective but if that was the case why aren't Israel and US going to war with Sudan or North Korea or intervening in DRC? This is being falsely wrapped up as in the interests of the people when its clear that it will most likely result in chaos, mass death and destruction for the people of Iran.

I believe the war is being waged so the regime in power in Israel avoid accountability for their actions and continue their hold of power and continued occupation and expansion of their territory. I dont believe it is in the interests of Israelis - i think their interests would be best served through focusing on a meaningful peace solution and end to occupation and territorial expansion.

Would celebrations of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank make a war on Israel justified?

Then why wasn't he anti the brutal war on the Iranian people organised by that regime?

EsmaCannonball · 28/02/2026 23:16

One possible negative effect of all this is the potential for thousands of Iranian hardliners and their proxies to claim asylum in the west. You'd like to think it couldn't happen but we already have 'former' IRGC, Hamas and Hezbollah members living here, and the lesser-known ones could easily destroy their documentation and claim they are from somewhere else.

Another possibility is Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis deciding they have nothing to lose and flooding into Iran in an attempt to take it back. They might not have a chance but it could get very bloody.

Whether or not Afghanistan needs more war, there is one happening right now, between them and Pakistan.
