Israel attacked Iran early on Saturday morning, saying it had “launched a pre-emptive strike against Iran to remove threats to the state of Israel,” according to a military spokesman.

Israel closed its airspace and declared a state of emergency, in anticipation of
Iranian drone and missile strikes in response.

Explosions were heard in Tehran on Saturday, Iranian media reported.

Footage of strikes on Dubai Airport T3:
https://x.com/Osinttechnical/status/2027857287541395710

Also medium-range missiles hitting Tel Aviv, and a further balistic missile attack on Qatar. UAE and Bahrain also targeted.

The Qatari footage of PATRIOT SAM battery fighting an incoming missile is interesting - people on the stree extremely sanguine.

Dubai International Airport’s terminal three was hit in an Iranian drone/missile attack this evening. Damage has been reported.

Hopefully the rank and file soldiers and police will simply refuse to fire on protestors.

Can you repost it please? I'm not seeing it on this thread.

I've found some Guardian links you posted on the other thread. This is what they say:

  • "Dozens of students were reportedly killed in a strike on a primary school in the south-east. Iranian media is reporting at least 201 people have been killed in total and 747 injured."

Bolding added by me. So no independent confirmation.

Ok

Iran’s parents had just dropped their children off for class on Saturday morning when they found themselves racing back to school gates, as bombs began to fall across the country in a joint US-Israel attack.
At one elementary school, according to Iran’s state-controlled media, they arrived to find devastation. At least 80 children had been killed in the strike on Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ school in Minab, southern Iran, the IRNA news agency reported, with dozens more unaccounted for.
In one video circulating on social media, purportedly showing the immediate aftermath of the strike, smoke rises from the burnt-out walls, and debris lies spread across the road. Hundreds of onlookers gathered at the site, some in obvious distress. Screams can be heard in the background. The report of the bombing, its death toll and the video’s source could not immediately be independently verified by the Guardian. Persian factchecking service Factnameh was able to cross-reference the video with other photographs of the school site, and concluded that the video was authentic. Reuters said it had also verified the footage as being from the school.
The school appears to be adjacent to a Revolutionary Guards barracks. If the death toll is confirmed, the school bombing would be the largest mass casualty event of the US-led attack so far.’

I'm more than happy to wait and see what the outcome is. But a few posters were very, very quick off the mark to start denouncing Israel and claiming confidently it was them.

On a much happier note, street parties in Iran:

These videos on X may or may not be real. Some are clearly being posted by those with an agenda.

This is clearly a very high risk military action that may or may not result in a positive result for the Iranian’s.

I don’t think anyone here supports Iran but they are interested in understanding the truth.

You just want to read things that fit your own narrative.

DH is in Israel by himself and is stranded. He’s not near major cities and is at a hotel where they had to shelter during the sirens but otherwise have been carrying on as normal, and I have no idea how we’re going to get him back home. His flight’s been cancelled, obviously, and there’s no clear pathway to get out.

I'm so sorry. I hope he will get home soon 💐

I’m sorry to hear that @FinnoualaSpork . So many people stranded now and it’s such a worrying situation. I hope he gets home soon.

Okay so there's this bit:

"At one elementary school, according to Iran’s state-controlled media, they arrived to find devastation. At least 80 children had been killed in the strike on Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ school in Minab, southern Iran, the IRNA news agency reported, with dozens more unaccounted for."

Reports that the footage is authentic, but the only claim as to who is responsible is from Iranian state media - they're the only ones claiming it's Israel or the US.

Do you see what I mean about that not being objective verification? All Reuters say they have verified is the location, not who actually carried out the bombing.

What makes you think the videos aren't real? I've also got a video of Iranians celebrating in Glasgow today, which I know for a fact is real.

My narrative is yay, a horrible regime that slaughered 30 thousand of it's own people, and sponsors terrorism in the entire region, is being toppled. What's yours?

AnSpideog · 28/02/2026 21:37

@SpaceRaccoon that’s right. You got it. No they won’t be able to verify the source of the bombing from a video of the aftermath.

SpaceRaccoon · 28/02/2026 21:38

@FinnoualaSpork I hope this is over really quickly and he can get safely back to you. This must be beyond frightening for you just now.

Because they are random videos being circulated on X. In every conflict, on every side videos are circulated that are actually from a different time and place, in order to push a certain agenda.

We don’t know they are real. We don’t know they are not. Because they aren’t verified.

i stated my narrative already. This is high risk. The truth is important. I don’t know if it is the right thing to do and I don’t trust either the US or Israel right now but I do hope it ends with a positive result for the Iranian people.

I don’t trust their governments. Yes I have higher levels of trust in other governments and lower levels in others too.

That’s fairly normal right? Not to just blindly trust governments and base your level of trust on the amount of times they lie.

Reuters have been able to verify the hit on the school
which was what I posted on

They cannot verify independently the number dead, injured or whose bomb it was.
That’s why they haven’t and that’s why I haven’t claimed it’s anyone’s fault.
Facts are everything !
Denying it or casting blame without proof is worthless !!!

Of note
The article states where the information came from.
That’s important and perfectly normal in reporting.
The same goes for the news on the Ayatollahs killing, articles note it’s coming from an Israeli official.
All news agencies need to verify their source

That’s why Twitter and insta are crap
