Conflict in the Middle East

No we've established on the many citme threads that compassion and outrage only exists for those killed in a conflict with Israel. It's funny that they can't see it but we can.

To some extent I agree with you. But I think there are lots of reasons for this.

For some people (like me) it will be because they have been concerned with ME politics and the situation in Israel and the Palestine question for many years. . I have watched this ongoing situation since I was a teenager, and I'm now 52. This conflict has a long history.

For others it will be that this is the most covered war by mainstream media. Israel matters to the establishment, it will find its way into mainstream media.

For others, it really is that not only is the situation in Gaza so horrific, but that this has all played out on SM and there are now thousands of pieces of evidence all out there for all to see. Its difficult to ignore, much less deny, unless you really are ideologically wedded to the idea that people have a right to go home generations later and grab land. In which case I will hop off back to the pale of settlement and chuck out some Ukrainians (I can't trace my family back as far as 1099 to Israel).

For others, they are using this conflict as justification for taking their masks off, no longer seeing any reason to hide their antisemitism. They can say "risky things" on X and get away with it.

None of the above really applies to Yemen.

It is wrong to suggest that all people are only interested in speaking up about the plight of Palestinians because they hate Jews. It serves no purpose unless you just want people to shut up and look the other way.

No,
I was replying to this.

This thread is about how Israeli soldiers treat Palestinian children in the West Bank.

It is you who want to derail this discussion with your "opinion" on the motivation of the original poster, the motivation of others who have commented and derailed by talking about Hamas and Gaza.

If I were to stoop to your level of debate I'd give you a little bit of my opinion. In my opinion you are neither an Israeli or a Jew. That's what I think. I think your motivation to post at all on this is to cause further harm to Israeli people and to Jews. Derailing threads with repugnant opinion, denial of basic facts, no use of facts or sources whilst attacking reasonable debate has the potential to create two outcomes. 1. some will assume you to be Jewish or Israeli and an example of Jewish thought. 2. That this justifies their own rabid antisemitism.

Antisemitism is on the rise in the UK, and it is happening because in no small part people are pointing at anonymous posts on social media thinking the gaslighting, lies, and propaganda is being pushed by ordinary Israeli people and Jews, and let's face it the mask slips and the reaction is blatant antisemitism.

As for the cease fire, go look in the news. And no, the ceasefire is not the big defining history changing event you think, since your take on history is such a short overview. Yes, more opinion for you, I suspect you have only been interested in the middle east since October 7th. Your insistence that other posters better informed than you are derailing the discussion merely makes you look anxious not to look ignorant and ill informed.

Very well said. The same group of gaslighters with the same deny deny deny anyone can be a genocide scholar facetious laughing emojis you’re an anti semite tack circuitous crap are colonising every post on the atrocities Israel are committing in Palestine.

The “same group of gaslighters” AKA people who hold a different opinion to yourself.

Agree with @LooneyLiberalSpaceWaster though that people have many different motivations for concerning themselves in this war and it’s not necessarily antisemitism to criticise Israel. Though in some cases it is, such as when posters imply Israel should carry 100% of the blame while minimising the actions & intent of Hamas.
