Conflict in the Middle East

Hardly violent assault, one man pulled a small boy to his feet, took the other one by the arm and walked them away. No idea what was going on, perhaps they were in a dangerous place. It' a war zone not a play park.

Yes; and no one seems to consider that Israeli soldiers in Gaza are also targets and children refusing to budge could be a trap.

Maybe they would consider it if it happened in Gaza?

Did anyone say they’re the most moral army in the world?

I haven’t opened the link, but I find the outrage over incidents like this but tumbleweed regarding Hamas executing their competitors to be so irritating

Executing their competitors? Or looters and criminals based behind the yellow lines, paid for by Netanyahu ( who also helped create Hamas)?

How do you know for a fact they were looters and criminals?

It is acceptable to you that ‘looters and criminals’ are executed in the street after being horrifically tortured as long as it’s done by Hamas?

That does include women and children btw as several have been murdered in these ‘executions’.

Do you really not think Palestinians have any agency at all and can’t be held responsible for anything, not even creating Hamas?

It’s such a bizarre logic, isn’t it.
Hamas say the people they’re executing are criminals, so it must be true apparently…
Aren’t Hamas criminals themselves? So the other “criminals” would be competitors after all?

Some have always believed everything hamas have said from famine to genocide and now to their murders of 'criminals and looters'.

You do wonder when they'll wake up and think oh hang on, maybe terrorists aren't credible sources but so far no sign of it.

The soldier was obviously trying to get the kid to get up.

Why are these two kids out without any adult supervision visible in a fucking war zone?

Who just conveniently managed to catch it on film - the family?

It looks like the boys were told to move and refused so the IDF had to use NON INJURIOUS and NON LETHAL force to get them to move.

It doesn’t look like they were scared or they would have moved straight away. In fact, it looked like they were refusing to do as they were told which most children wouldn’t do to soldiers unless they knew the soldiers weren’t going to harm them (and I’ve seen enough videos of Palestinian kids to see that many are not afraid at ALL).

Who knows why they needed them to move - could have been an evacuation area.

If that was the case would you have preferred the IDF didn’t make them move?

It was in Hebron, this is on the West bank.

Are you suggesting that there is a war going on in Hebron?

I can't really get worked up about this particular clip. The children look hesitant and possibly afraid, but they will have witnessed events in their short lives that give rise to fear. The clip doesn't show anything, but the implication is there because of the fact that Israeli soldiers do indeed assault, detain and shoot at children.

IDF are killing children on the west bank, on average they have killed 1 child every two days for the past 24 months.

Israeli soldiers detain Palestinian children for ‘spying’ in West Bank

Israeli soldiers were filmed detaining two Palestinian children in Hebron, in the occupied West Bank,

Never forgot this video which was one of the earliest things I remember when I started researching the history of this conflict. Shocking and probably sealed my perception of the Palestinian propaganda.

A Palestinian man waving his flag, picks up and pushes a small boy also waving his flag, towards an IDF troop shouting at them to shoot him and telling the child to throw stones at the soldiers. A soldier takes the boys hand and has a chat, and he half heartedly throws a few stones then sits near them quite comfortablle while the Palestinian man continues shouting at the IDF to shoot him.

Sums this conflict up completely IMO.

Sick and tragic. Makes you wonder what became of that poor child and what he grew up to be.

Thank you for sharing this.

Watch the video I posted where the boy says he was struck in the face by the idf.

Timeforabitofpeace · 21/10/2025 19:47

You should see channel 4 news tonight. The pre ministry academy argues in some of its videos that there are no innocents in Gaza and that even children and babies should be killed, in the cause of spreading Judaism. It’s utterly hideous to listen to.

That report was chilling. You could see the reporter Secunder Kermani was really shocked at what he was hearing.

Boomboombo · 21/10/2025 21:52

Wow

HellsBalls · 21/10/2025 22:29

Looks like even the pro-palsies realise they’ve over egged the assault allegations and are trying to derail the thread.

My opinion, which you are welcome to, is that if this video with the alleged assault has been sensationalized to this extent, it perfectly explains the lies over genocide, the lies over carpet bombing, the lies over torture of prisoners, the lies over starvation, the lies snipers shooting children, and the rest of the countless lies spewed out by Hamas, regurgitated without question by the anti-semites, and posted all over social media.
If ever a war was just, it was this one.

stomachamelon · 21/10/2025 22:39

@Timeforabitofpeaceso your thread narrative has changed after your initial ‘discussion’ was found to not quite be true.
It’s also a non proselytising faith….. ‘in the cause of spreading Judaism’

Timeforabitofpeace · 21/10/2025 22:53

@MissyB1I was too, tbh, and I thought I was un shockable on this subject.

Timeforabitofpeace · 21/10/2025 22:57

@stomachameloni don’t know what you’re talking about. I was summarising the new clip, or trying to, succinctly.

And, I saw that way the IDF were being trained by people in power is disgusting and inhuman.

I think this is the thing: what Hamas did was horrific, but the Gazan civilian mobs took it all to whole new levels of barbarity and visibly celebrated what had happened. I wonder if even Hamas were a bit shocked at how things escalated on the day.

The world was so sickened to see this level of obscene sadism that Hamas must have been a bit "oops, might have shot ourselves in the foot here in terms of our cunning scheme for world domination."

So ever since, it's been a DARVO barrage of propaganda to claw back some sympathy by painting Israel as even worse, or at the very least, on a par.

Threads like this show how desperate it gets. It's not even clickbait, because as noted upthread people often don't even bother to open things to examine them. The damage (or, from Hamas's point of view, obvious benefit) is already achieved by the shock-horror headlines.

This may well go down in history as the first war to fully exploit social media. It's been quite shocking to see how powerful it can be.

Dude you and others on the the soldiers are just babysitting them side didn't open it. It said right at the beginning of the video that it happened in the West Bank yet so many of you went yammering on about Gaza and a war zone.

Because we don't agree with foreign soldiers going to people homes and neighbourhoods and manhandlinf their children as they play it doesn't mean we didn't watch it.

Is this the most barbaric thing that has happened even in the past week, I don't think anyone has said that it is. We could have posted videos of an Israeli civillian beating an old woman so severely with a pipe that she ended up in ICU.

We could talk about video of Israeli civillians throwing stones at Palestinians while the IDF stand and watch(we all know what they do to Palestinians who throw stones) and then the IDF throw tear gas at the Palestinians whilst the Israelis stand at a safe distance watching.

We could talk about the Israeli woman who was trying to protect Palestinians who was chased down and stoned by 30 masked Israeli civillians until she fell and broke her ribs and elbow, she thought they were going to stone her to death until she told them she was Jewish and then they stopped.

We could talk about the multiple arson attacks that have happened this week alone as the IDF have stood by and watched?

These boys may have just been manhandled but it still isn't OK. Today they are man handling them, tomorrow they are standing by as they beaten unconscious by Israeli civillians.

Gloriia · 22/10/2025 15:55

'These boys may have just been manhandled but it still isn't OK. Today they are man handling them, tomorrow they are standing by as they beaten unconscious by Israeli civillians'

You can't just make things up. Today <or whenever> they grabbed a kid by his arm. The op and others have said this is assault, it isn't. Thy is what the thread is about not what you think may happen tomorrow. We could also fill the thread up with atrocities committed again Israelis but that is called derailing.

Beachtastic · 22/10/2025 16:34

I must admit I did get it confused with Gaza. It's hard to keep track of all the threads! Also, just when I'm happy that all my posts are being framed and memorised by appreciative readers hanging on to every word of my wisdom, I always manage to write something that confirms beyond reasonable doubt that I'm just another wanker on social media 🫢

Edited

And it isn't derailing to go back 2 years to say some Gazan civillians acted appallingly? Everything I mentioned happened in the past week and serves as context to what is happening around these boys with the help of these soldiers every single day.

You can minimise it all you like but foreign soldiers manhandling small children without their parents or any guardian present is not OK. These foreign soldiers are part of a racist system who discriminate against them and kill them in numbers seen no where else in the world right now. Context is everything. These aren't friendly soldiers. These are soldiers who are part of a system of violence, oppression and racism.

CrossChecking · 22/10/2025 16:58

I'm done with this circular discussion now but posters trying to convince people that they would be fine with men who are part of a institutionally racist organisation that are currently the world's most profuse child killers grabbing your children in the supermarket or anywhere else know how daft their claims are. Apart from this small subsection of mumsnetters people generally don't like armed racist killers anywhere near their children.
