Conflict in the Middle East

Thoughts to the Jewish community in the UK

Ihatetomatoes · 02/10/2025 19:38

There is a massive rise in anti semitism in the UK and other countries. Jewish people here have nothing to do with the conflict in Gaza, nothing at all.

The rise in anti semitism is disgusting.

Sending thoughts to the victims, their family and friends. No one should feel terrorised in the UK. People should feel safe here.

My heart goes out to the Jewish community and anyone affected by this horrible attack. What has the UK become? It’s disgusting that this could happen & against a backdrop of rising antisemitism. Normal, decent people in the UK support the Jewish community & we’re so sorry this has happened.

This .
We all stand with the Jewish community.

There won’t be one. This thread was already derailed a couple of posts in, so you could have stepped in then.

Thats a shame. It’s not hard. My thoughts and support to the Jewish community, I’ve put it elsewhere but will again here.

Seriously - WHY can we not completely lend support to Jewish people in the UK and worldwide who feel under threat and vilified AND simultaneously debate points that are also for many, completely valid.

Why can't there be one thread about the events of yesterday that are simply about the event and how Jewish people here are feeling?

This.

My point is this thread apart from a few posts are not about thoughts and support for the Jewish community’s why don’t you start one which doesn’t seek to put the blame on anyone but the killer?

You could just offer your support. Most of all you could listen.

Ihatetomatoes · 03/10/2025 08:19

We are a free and democratic country, we must support the Jewish people and not allow extremists to make them leave or kill them!

Hearing young Jewish children gaving 'free Palestine ' shouted at them at school or in tge streets, isn't acceptable. It's a slogan that people are now using hatefully to people/children that have nothing to do with the conflict. Shame on you if you shout that at others/children or your children shout that at Jewish children, stop breeding and contributing to hate.

The attack on the synagogue was horrific. My heart goes out to the families of those killed. I'm glad the police were able to attend quickly and stop it as quickly as they did as it could have been so much worse.

You support the Jewish community but..... but..... but....... there is the problem.

No one said the deaths of children ate meaningless and only these 2 dead Jewish people matter.

This attack is in the UK where there us growing hatred towards Jewish people who have nothing to do with the conflict. The chants saying globalise the intifada encourage and support these attacks worldwide thats what globalise means, attacks globally and this is where we end up.

Just like you offer your support on all the threads about the slaughter of innocents in Gaza then?

There's always a 'but' isn't there

So many empty words. Why even bother posting?

When worshippers were mown down outside a mosque, did anyone say blame Iran? ISIS? Al Qaeeda?

The op did start one that focuses on Jewish people, you’re posting on it.

Absolutely agree what happened yesterday was hideous and no Jew should be scared and living in fear but that doesn’t mean I can’t feel the same for the innocent people in Gaza. They shouldn’t be living in fear either. We’re allowed to be sad, heartbroken and scared for everyone and we should cause although it might not feel like it right now, most of us are decent human beings.

didalittlenamechange · 03/10/2025 08:40

@PurpleThistle7 I am so, so sorry your daughter went through that.

I'm Jewish and had a similar experience at the pub recently when someone saw a piece of jewellery on me that my family member managed to keep with her through her time at Belsen.

But I'm nearly 40. A 12 year old having to experience this is horrific. I'm sending you both so much love.

What would the correct response to October 7th and the taking of 00's of hostages along with numerous dead bodies have been?

I have never seen an answer to this

Well, we got one here...

To respond by investigating it as a crime, find and arrest those responsible and put them through due process through the courts, ensuring the law was applied while also complying with international law. And send rescue parties to get the hostages back or better still negotiate their return.

...which shows with mind-numbing clarity that people are angry with Israel for not approaching Hamas and the vicious Gazan mobs like an education welfare officer. I'm sure they'd handle it all so much better, tiptoeing in politely to "find and arrest those responsible" and "send rescue parties"... 🤦🏻‍♀️🤡

The timing of Greta's futilla, the Manchester synagogue attack, and the celebrations in London last night was not coincidental. At the very least, they were all planned for Yom Kippur, thus making their utter contempt for the Jewish people absolutely clear.

And then "pro-Palestinian" rallies held in cities across the UK within hours of the attack. I despair of this country and am so, so angry on behalf of the peaceful Jewish community who have made their homes here.

That's not a war. A war is equal partners fighting. This isn't equal, that much is obvious. This is a genocide. Gaza is being systematically destroyed, according to plan. Everyone can see it.

Twiglets1 · 03/10/2025 08:48

Let's not get distracted from the message of this thread - which is thoughts to the Jewish community in the UK after this horrible attack in Manchester.

How many times, this isn't a thread about Gaza.

I shall say it again, can there be one thread about the attack yesterday & how Jewish people are feeling?

The Jewish people in the UK that were attacked yesterday were not involved in the war. They were nothing to do with it at all.

Not launch a war against a whole people, rain down hell on their land, destroy their homes, kill 66,000 people, attack other countries, assassinate journalists and medical staff, starve children to death and blockade medical aid and food supplies.

And what do they do with the web of terror tunnels underneath Gaza, funded by our aid money?
