App to boycott Israeli goods

the “No Thanks” app, which first appeared almost two years ago carrying a large list of companies and brands consumers might consider boycotting because of Israeli links.
The app has become a key tool for the BDS movement that targets Israel economically for the actions of its government and its military in Gaza.
Along with a list of companies and brands to boycott, the app allows users to scan barcodes to find out more about the relationship particular products have with Israel.

I won't click on the link thanks. I'm boycotting them.

Why are you boycotting the co-op?

Are you in support of genocide?

Wierd thing to do isn’t it concidering the Coop are boycotting 17 countries that commit human rights violations. Considering the pro Israeli supporters are always banging on about why we don’t boycott those countries too. Here we have a business that is doing just that and they boycott that very business

I dare say the coop will suffer the deprivation

Eric Cantona?! I wonder what his contribution was.

This is why Eric Cantona was there
Its in the article

Did anyone go to the 'celeb's' do? Can anyone confirm if hostages definitely were not mentioned? Maybe a little ' fuck hamas' or 'hamas surrender'? Or were they too busy patting themselves on the back perhaps.

This conflict involves victims on all sides. For anyone be it uefa, Saleh the footie player, Lush, now Cantona to ignore one side is to be expected but shit nonetheless.

Apparently he said when seagulls follow the trawler it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. Perhaps he's identifying as a seagull.

Which reminds me, did Greta get out of Tunisia? Haven't been watching.

Did you miss the title
Its about Palestinians or does everyone always have to concider others all the time
Why can't they speak out for Palestinians it’s not much to ask given the ongoing situation

Perhaps get a concert going for the hostages if you want. We won’t come on here and ask why 65,000 murdered Palestinians weren’t honoured too. We will respect your time a place

It’s about a terrible war that has killed thousands of civilians on both sides. The Israeli government and Hamas both need to be condemned for their inhumane actions that have caused so much suffering. It doesn’t look like this happened at the event.

It's not a publicity stunt. The co-op have a long history of having ethical trading values, from fair trade and sound sourcing to investing in communities.

They are one of the most consistently ethical companies Britain has ever had.

I don't support them targeting countries no. They're there to sell bread and papers not to be some DIY political party.

The conflict in gaza is horrific. I support hamas surrendering and releasing the hostages, don't you?

Yes of course many have suffered on both sides but
The concert was about Palestinians in Gaza
surprisingly we live in a democracy !! and can chose when and how to support who we want

No. That’s not enough which is why boycotting Israel is important ( and all we are interested on here )

Hence This thread !!!
Hence support for concerts and all actions that go to support the Palestinian people

Genocide, not conflict.

GENOCIDE.
"the deliberate and systematic killing or persecution of a large number of people from a particular national or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group."

Why don't you read the proof and let it sink in:
https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2025/09/israel-has-committed-genocide-gaza-strip-un-commission-finds

An excerpt to simplify this for you, or in case you are too biased to click on the link (again)
Israeli authorities and Israeli security forces committed four of the five genocidal acts defined by the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, namely killing, causing serious bodily or mental harm, deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about the destruction of the Palestinians in whole or in part, and imposing measures intended to prevent births.

Do you not recognise human rights violations or only care about some countries.

Well it should be enough to put you off. He maybe supported boycotting Israel whilst stealing thousands from a lady with dementia but it's not a good look is it.

If he has his principles so fucked up and he was the boss it doesn't bode well for the other virtue signallers at the co op does it.

The creator of this useful app wants to eradicate Israel and send all Israelis home, (he won't admit he wants to kill them but he does refer to 'the resistance' and if that's hamas, their stated aim is genocide of Jews).

He sounded like a nice chap when interviewed.

Anyway, you follow your moral compass and I'll follow mine.

He hasn't worked for co-op since 2013 so this is a null argument.

1000s of civilians on both sides? When did that happen, less than 800 Israeli civilians were killed on Oct 7,when were the 1000s of others killed?

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights is not a 'useful app'.

It's a leading United Nations entity on promoting and protecting human rights, including your right to freedom of speech which you are enjoying right now.

What is funny? It's a snapshot that this amazeballs virtue signalling shop had a fraud as a boss. Whether it was this year or ten years ago it still happened.
They maybe need to focus on things a bit closer to home. Maybe work on staff selection as opposed to where theyre getting their carrots from.

Gloriia · 20/09/2025 17:51

So did anyone go to the celeb do, can anyone confirm or deny if there was a 'fuck hamas' from Eric et al?
