App to boycott Israeli goods

1000 replies

Everexpanding · 14/09/2025 10:49

the “No Thanks” app, which first appeared almost two years ago carrying a large list of companies and brands consumers might consider boycotting because of Israeli links.
The app has become a key tool for the BDS movement that targets Israel economically for the actions of its government and its military in Gaza.
Along with a list of companies and brands to boycott, the app allows users to scan barcodes to find out more about the relationship particular products have with Israel.

What is funny? It's a snapshot that this amazeballs virtue signalling shop had a fraud as a boss. Whether it was this year or ten years ago it still happened.
They maybe need to focus on things a bit closer to home. Maybe work on staff selection as opposed to where theyre getting their carrots from.

They were getting their carrots from Israel. Thank goodness they aren’t anymore

Perhaps you have the ability to predict what someone is going to do in 12 years time and can employ accordingly.

Lucky you, shame you didn’t let Gaza know

UltraCynica · 20/09/2025 17:54

C'mon Gloriia, focus, you're all in a muddle and grasping at 12 years old straws.

I have no doubt over the companies ethical policies. I trust they are doing what they have promised. It's more than I can say for any other supermarkets out there.

Gloriia · 20/09/2025 17:51

So did anyone go to the celeb do, can anyone confirm or deny if there was a 'fuck hamas' from Eric et al?

@Gloriia do they speak about the death and destruction in Palestine at the events for the hostages? (Not being sarky just genuinely wondering, they have been mentioned at my local march for Palestine)

The creator of this useful app wants to eradicate Israel and send all Israelis home, (he won't admit he wants to kill them but he does refer to 'the resistance' and if that's hamas, their stated aim is genocide of Jews).

He sounded like a nice chap when interviewed.

Anyway, you follow your moral compass and I'll follow mine.

"...their stated aim is the genocide of Jews"

Article 16 of the Hamas charter

16. Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine. Yet, it is the Zionists who constantly identify Judaism and the Jews with their own colonial project and illegal entity

Agree
but the app lets buyers know what to avoid
Supermarkets will only buy what sells. So hopefully it will filter through

not just in the U.K. but clearly the citizens and businesses of many other countries are doing the same

Yes. Every single event I have been to for the hostages or against antisemitism has done so. Every single one. When are the hostages mentioned at pro-Pal events? Where are the posters and chants?

Is there one for brands with Chinese links, after their genocide of Uyghur Muslims?

How about one for brands with ties to Iran after their funding of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis?

Or one for brands with ties to the UAE after they happily transfer weapons to Sudan after the recent genocide there?

Or one for brands with ties to Russia?

Or is it only Jews we hold to account?

Spot on. I was horrified recently to hear a BBC report about the situation in Sudan, where the UAE and Libya are contributing to the violence. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjel2nn22z9o

"More than 150,000 people have died in the conflict across the country, and about 12 million have fled their homes in what the United Nations has called the world's largest humanitarian crisis."

Well that’s convenient Sharon because at the marches in London a year or so ago no one was speaking for the Palestinians. It was the hostages only. It was only ever about bringing them home. There was nothing about stopping the war whereas the pro Palestinian marches were very much Stop the war marches

None of that’s working
So now we will speak with our wallets and boycott Israeli goods.

Not posters but the speakers mention them. There's a stage with speeches and songs etc. It's a local event.

That's good to know that both sides are acknowledged, I am surprised based on the social media videos I have seen but it's great .

These marches were all and only about hostages

They cheered about no ceasefire
They booed when criticism of Netanyahu was spoken off

hear hear. Selective outrage 🙄

Not selective at all.

I boycott many products and companies for a whole range of human right violations. Have a look at 'buycott' if you are interested in human rights.

In answer to the original question:

BP, Shell, Marriot hotels, Disney, Starbucks. These are all heavily invested by the Saudi Arabian government.
Tetley, Apple, DHL. These are invested in by the ruling military junta that oppresses the people of Myanmar.

Here are a few suggestions if you wish to withdraw your consumer support for violators of the other human rights violations you mentioned:

Which marches exactly? Please send me links and transcripts of all the speeches. I have been on all the big ones and several smaller ones.

1000s of civilians on both sides? When did that happen, less than 800 Israeli civilians were killed on Oct 7,when were the 1000s of others killed?

Thank you for correcting me. 800 Israeli civilians being killed and another 200 taken hostage by Hamas on 7th October is still absolutely terrible, isn’t it?

If a particular organisation say a particular thing - that doesn't give a government the right to commit genocide and attempt to wipe out 2 million people.

Thank you. But don’t you find it odd how little mainstream publicity there is about human rights abuses in places other than Gaza/West Bank? (Not that I’m saying people in those places aren’t suffering terribly, but the publicity seems so one-sided and the outrage so uniquely focused on Israel.)

Are you referring to the outdated 1988 charter?

Article 35 of the 1988 charter states

"The Islamic Resistance Movement is a humanistic movement. It takes care of human rights and is guided by Islamic tolerance when dealing with the followers of other religions. It does not antagonize anyone of them except if it is antagonized by it or stands in its way to hamper its moves and waste its efforts.

Under the wing of Islam, it is possible for the followers of the three religions - Islam, Christianity and Judaism - to coexist in peace and quiet with each other."

You see this is the problem. Why are you surprised? Every Jewish event I have been to is dignified, restrained, speaks of the horror of the war for all civilians and prays for peace. Huge anger at Hamas, why wouldn't there be but even then not in the blood curdling terms that pro-Pal demonstrators use for Israel. I'm afraid this tells me that you and others are not listening to others outside your 'side'.

Oh please. Look at their behaviour, theircstatements and their often stated intention after 7 October to do it again. This is Hamas apologism. Absolutely disgraceful

Exactly !

Were there any stop the war signs. Any stop the genocide banners.

No.!

Did any speakers stop a moment to mention the tens of thousands of Palestinians killed…. No!

and yet at Palestinian support concerts it’s Aparently disgraceful not to mention the remaining hostages.
Perhaps supporters should practice what they preach first before criticising others.
