I don’t know why they act like this is the right thing to do. If you say "I'm going to stab someone", and then do it, it's still murder.

Israeli military orders 'all residents' of Gaza City to evacuate immediately - latest

Israel's security cabinet last month approved a plan to take control of the city, where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians reside.

Egypt changed their mind on opening the border to allow women and children in?

BelleHathor · 09/09/2025 10:32

Looks like the Israeli government is proceeding with it's plan to concentrate the Gazans in a smaller area and ultimately attempt to push them in the into the Sinai.

There isno evidence that Egypt has recently agreed to "open their borders " to allow women and children in.

Firstly doing that would be actively assisting the Israeli Government in it's pursuit of ethnic cleansing a clear violation of International Law.

Secondly, if you want to see a real "Arab Spring" uprising El Sisi would do just that. The Egyptian people unlike a lot of governments in the region (placated by generous American aid) would not repsond kindly.

Yeah, that’s the point.

Egypt could have opened the border to allow women and children to leave an active war zone but they won’t as their view aligns with yours re ethnic cleaning etc.

Can you think of another situation in which civilians are actively stopped from leaving war zone in a heavily built-up urban area?

Are they attempting to flush out Hamas operatives when people move from the area. I read somewhere that the IDF has names of operatives they seek out?

I assumed they warm then so.they can leave for a safer area? Would it be better not to warn them?

I wish Egypt would open the border as Poland did with Ukrainian people when Russia started a war against Ukraine. It saved the lives of thousands of women and children. Its dreadful to think they wont help people who want to protect their children by leaving.

IDF is currently destroying the remaining high rise buildings still standing in Gaza City (there are still structure standing) because they are being used as strategic structures by Hamas to monitor & attack the IDF. These buildings will be booby-trapped so clearing them manually will put soldiers in danger which no army voluntarily does when there is another option. They’re also used as sniper positions.

Throughout the war, the IDF has published where they’re going to attack and have an early warning system in place. Thousands of leaflets have been dropped this morning warning those still in Gaza where they’re will be targeting. The maps show a general area for operations and advise where people should go to. This is standard.

It would, indeed, be better not to warn Hamas of imminent targets but casualty numbers would be far higher if they didn’t. Thought the entire war, Hamas has known where IDF was going to operate next. That’s why they can booby trap buildings and move the hostages around.

In response to the IDF’s latest warnings, Hamas have been telling the people to stay put as they’re the last line of defence & are vital to the success of the war. Paraphrasing as I can’t remember the exact wording, but that’s the list of it. Go nowhere as we need our shields. They’ve also undermined evacuation orders by saying they’re just going to kill everyone when they move etc which isn’t the case.

The IDF are evil, the civilian population of Gaza are exhausted, starving and traumatised, told to go to safe areas then bombed anyway, the whole situation is horrifying and no it is not Egypts responsibility to facilitate Israel’s plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza. Anyone still supporting the actions of Israel is in deep denial about what is being done in their name or is an active supporter of ethnic cleansing

All of this.

Here's a thought. If Hamas gave one shit about the civilians of Gaza they would have used their 450 miles of tunnel networks to shelter them in.

The very obvious reason why they don't is because Hamas see an advantage to themselves in keeping their civilians in harms way.

One of the advantages is that it helps their propaganda machine when people blame Israel, rather than Hamas, for the war Hamas brought on its own people, and has kept active through promises of further violence, acts of violence and keeping the hostages.

The only ethnic cleansing Israel carried out in Gaza was when they sent their soldiers in to forcibly remove their own citizens in 2005 (and dug up Jewish graves as they knew their bodies would be desecrated after the handover of Gaza).

About the Nakba - Question of Palestine

The Nakba, which means "catastrophe" in Arabic, refers to the mass displacement and dispossession of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. Before the Nakba, Palestine was a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society. However, the conflict between...

A lot of the expulsion was done by the Arab armies who told people they could return after the Arabs won. But the Arabs did not win.

Two million Arab muslims live in Israel - their population has increased vastly since the establishment of Israel, Tell me again how many Jews live in Gaza?

In fact, tell me how many Jews live in the surrounding arab states? If you are so keen to condemn expulsion of ethnic and religious groups, then where is your condemnation of the expulsion of almost a million Jews from countries 10 countries including Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, and Yemen, in the 20th century, often achieved via discrimination, violence, and the confiscation of their properties and assets?

Here is an interesting article on the issue
https://www.meforum.org/middle-east-quarterly/why-jews-fled-the-arab-countries

And as this EU article makes clear, there were greater numbers of Jewish refugees from these countries (over 850,000) than there were Palestinian refugees in1948 (720,000). If you scroll down you will see how the ancient Jewish populations in these countries have been entirely eradicated or near destroyed.

Why Jews Fled the Arab Countries

put the massacre at Deir Yassin does show Israel does have a history of ethnically cleansing Palestinians

GladioliGreen · 09/09/2025 12:54

I honestly can't believe so many people are just sitting back and watching as Israel enact their plan to 'concentrate' people into camps in the south where they 'will not be allowed to leave'. A closed mass camp, where the population will be forcibly held is outside any legitimate legal framework. The mass detention of 2million people in an area deprived of basic living conditions is unthinkable, or at least it was. Yet as we see on this thread people are still making excuses for it, horrific.

This started off talking about Gaza. The only ethnic cleansing in Gaza is where Israel forcibly removed its own citizens. Do you condemn that as ethnic cleansing?

Can you link to your posts or SM condemning the ethnic cleansing of Jews from ten muslim countries in the 20th century? If not, why is your concern about ethnic cleansing so partisan?

And why are you seeing Israel's actions in this current war, a war it did not initiate (and a war which the Arabs factions who planned it meant it to destroy Israel, this was meant to be a co-ordinated, simultaneous attack by Hezbollah and Iran and Houthis) and which is to defend itself from a collection of enemies who are sworn to destroy it, why do you see Israel's actions here as genocide, bringing in what you describe as past ethnic cleansing to support your case; but you do not see Hamas's and friends actions as ethnic cleansing even though Hamas and Co have been absolutely clear both in the past and present about their genuinely genocidal intent towards Israel and they do have a history of genuine ethnic cleansing leading to no Jews in their countries whereas Israel does have 2 million arab muslims living as citizens in its country?

Why this bias and imbalance?

You accuse people of sitting and watching. Unless you are there helping you are also like everyone else unable to do anything.

Protest for the hostages to be released. Protest for Hamas to go. Then the conflict of this current war on hamas must end. Then call for better leaders for Gazan that will urge peaceful solutions. Equally, Israel must also elect leaders for peace.

Otherwise everything is just noise on here.

Why this bias and imbalance?

Maybe because I see the massive power imbalance, maybe because I don’t like seeing a civilian population starved? Maybe because I don’t like seeing 20, 000 children slaughtered, ? Maybe because I have seen Israel’s response to peaceful Palestinian protests? ( see below)
Maybe because I have teenage sons and I don’t like seeing boys the same age imprisoned without trial or shot by snipers with impunity?
i don’t know why do you not care about these things?

“Israeli forces responded by shooting tear gas canisters, some of them dropped from drones, rubber bullets and live ammunition, mostly by snipers. As a result, 214 Palestinians, including 46 children, were killed, and over 36,100, including nearly 8,800 children have been injured. One in five of those injured (over 8,000) were hit by live ammunition.[3] During the same period, one Israeli soldier was killed and seven others were injured during the demonstrations.”

In one sentence you say that unless you are in Gaza then you are just sitting back and watching. In the next you say I should protest for the soldiers being held by Hamas to be released? Why? There is nothing anyone can do unless they are there right? The West holds no power in this situation at all, nothing to see here, move on people.
