Sky News report that Israel is expected to approve Benjamin Netanyahu's plan for a takeover of Gaza when the security cabinet meets later today.

According to the Times of Israel, the full cabinet is due to convene at 6pm local time, 4pm in the UK.

Israeli media are reporting that the plan could potentially span over five months, and it is likely to be aimed at destroying Hamas and pressuring it to free remaining hostages.

While some ministers have been critical of the plan, reports suggest Netanyahu is likely to secure a majority of support.

Last October, Israel’s military named Al Sharif as one of six Gaza Journalists it alleged were members of Hamas & Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

thank God is now being addressed with more aid finally being distributed.

the humanitarian situation is not being addressed with the levels aid that is being delivered. With the levels of malnutrition, it would require a large, coordinated and targeted response of food, therapeutic food and other medical aid. The air drops are a form of theatre - a penny in the ocean stuff. The UN seem to be finding it difficult to deliver aid effectively at all now and the GHF is completely ineffective and the food boxes not designed to avoid malnutrition.

It’s a very desperate situation.

I would say the humanitarian situation is being addressed but agree that there is still not enough aid being distributed in Gaza and the amount needs to increase.

Last October, Israel’s military named Al Sharif as one of six Gaza Journalists it alleged were members of Hamas & Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

From the Times of Israel October 2024

The IDF said Wednesday it had uncovered documents in the Gaza Strip that show six active Al Jazeera reporters are operatives in the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror groups.

The journalists were named by the IDF as Anas al-Sharif, Alaa Salameh, Hossam Shabat, Ashraf al-Sarraj, Ismail Abu Omar and Talal al-Arrouqi.

The military released the documents it said showed personnel spreadsheets, lists of training courses, telephone books and salary documents.

It said the documents “unequivocally prove” that the journalists functioned as members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad’s respective military wings.
“These documents are proof of the involvement of Hamas terrorists in the Qatari media network, Al-Jazeera,” the IDF said.

It added that the named journalists are “spearheading” the spread of Hamas propaganda on Al Jazeera, especially in the northern Gaza Strip.

In a response, the network said it “views these fabricated accusations as a blatant attempt to silence the few remaining journalists in the region, thereby obscuring the harsh realities of the war from audiences worldwide.”

JNS: IDF kills Hamas terror cell leader posing as ‘Al Jazeera’ journalist

The IDF previously released intelligence and recovered many documents in Gaza that confirmed al-Sharif’s “military” role within Hamas. These materials include personnel rosters, records of terrorist training courses, phone directories and salary documents, all substantiating his involvement as a combatant and commander in Hamas.

The documents detail al-Sharif’s position as a fighter and cell leader since his enlistment in Hamas in 2013, including his leadership in rocket units and participation in elite Nukhba battalions. These records not only show clear affiliation with terrorist operations but also outline attempts to use journalistic credentials as a cover for operational activity.

Col. Avichay Adraee, head of the Arab Media Branch in the IDF, posted pictures on X on Sunday showing al-Sharif taking a selfie with Hamas terror leaders, including Yahya Sinwar and Khalil al-Hayya. “Only a terrorist sits in the gatherings of terrorists,” Adraee wrote.

A post labelled as Anas al Sharif's "last will and testament" has been posted by his X account following his death.
"If these words of mine reach you, know that Israel has succeeded in killing me and silencing my voice," it reads.
It laments al Sharif never being able to see his son and daughter grow up, as he had "dreamed".
"I have never hesitated to convey the truth as it is, without falsification or distortion," it says.
"May God be a witness against those who remained silent and those who accepted our killing, and those who besieged our breath and did not let the remains of our children and women move in their hearts and did not stop the massacre that our people have been subjected to for more than a year and a half."
He described the bodies of children "crushed by thousands of tons of Israeli bombs and missiles, torn apart, and their remains scattered on the walls".
"God knows that I have exerted all my effort and strength to be a support and voice for my people, ever since I opened my eyes to life in the alleys and neighbourhoods of Jabalia refugee camp."
The statement ends: "Do not forget Gaza... and do not forget me in your prayers for forgiveness and acceptance."

RIP Anas Al Sharif 💔

As usual without providing any evidence for it. But they didn't kill him last October when they found their 'alleged' evidence or anytime after that. They killed him alongside other members of the Al Jazeera crew just before the invasion of Gaza city where they were reporting from.

For goodness sakes open your eyes!

There is evidence and also photos of Al-Sharif taking a selfie with Hamas terror leaders, including Yahya Sinwar and Khalil al-Hayya.

Actually read the link I provided to the article in JNS

A selfie?? A Palestinian taking a selfie with their leaders is proof that they are terrorists? The world has gone mad.

Kakeandkake · 11/08/2025 08:56

It really just feeds into all Palestinians are guilty.

Kakeandkake · 11/08/2025 09:03

Ahmed Al Sharaa was designated as a terrorist with a large bounty on his head not too long ago. People who met him at that time must also be terrorists then?

Those photos show very clearly that he admires and wishes to be affiliated with the top Hamas leaders. He has been granted access to power at the highest level. They look very relaxed in his company, and he in theirs.

It's enough evidence for me that he was affiliated with Hamas and makes it seem at least plausible that he was who the IDF accused him of being - someone with a active role in Hamas. He was hardly what some people in the West may have assumed him to be - a neutral journalist - but you can believe what you want.

I doubt neutral local journalists exist in Gaza, simply because Hamas would punish anyone that spoke out against them.

So let's just kill them all because at some point they took a selfie with the leaders of their country?

Some of you really need to give your head a wobble. Palestinian lives mean so little that you justify their deaths over and over.

@Twiglets1 you really don't have a clue how middle eastern politics work and it shows.

MSM have all openly questioned and even been critical of Israel's decision to murder the Al Jazeera crew. Atleast in the MSM some common sense prevails.

No, I will continue for as long as I want. And that is not proof of someone being a terrorist.

Kakeandkake · 11/08/2025 09:11

You know what accepting this 'pitiful' proof means don't you.

Anyone who worked in a government sector job in Gaza before the war can now be classified as having a link with 'Hamas'. Gaza is a tiny place and Hamas is the government. The Israeli government can justify almost all murders by somehow linking them back to the government.

Changing the subject now? Turning to insulting those who support Israel?

Suggesting I think "let's just kill them all" because of Al Sharif being targeted by the IDF for being member of Hamas.

NO - it's Hamas militants & their enablers we want killed, not Palestinian civilians.

Kakeandkake · 11/08/2025 09:16

The only positive news i saw this morning in amongst this shit show, is Australia will recognise a Palestinian state next month and New Zealand will likely follow suit.

Kakeandkake · 11/08/2025 09:17

Israel continues to isolate from the rest of the world whilst their war crimes continue. A pariah state.

SpaceRaccoon · 11/08/2025 09:19

Pity Australia isn't as quick to recognise the actual, functioning state of Taiwan.

I don't think there's any point in arguing about Ahmed Al Sharaa as, depending on perspective, it'll really just be us screaming "yes he was", "no he wasn't" at each other.

Conversely it means that in the future that any army can fabricate any evidence they want and assassinate at will.

Those who are happy to tear up International law can't cry when the inevitable blowback happens.

Like when the IDF headquarters located under a hospital in Tel Aviv were recently hit by Iran.....

ConscientiousObserver · 11/08/2025 09:25

Fancy someone openly posting RIP 💔 in response to the death of an Islamic terrorist on a UK parenting website called Mumsnet, and it being allowed to stand.

Why don’t you start a thread honouring them as Israel eliminate them@Kakeandkake?

Do you really think he would be given such access to the top Hamas leadership if he was not a member?

The IDF have been tracking his activities since 2013. He was on their "wanted" list along with 5 other so-called journalists.

Since these documents were uncovered in October 2024 he had been advised that he should leave the area for his own safety as he was a top IDF target. This was because these documents confirmed al-Sharif’s military role within Hamas and training courses etc.

I don't know what more evidence you expect, but no he wasn't photographed wearing a Hamas uniform, they don't have them.
