The Israeli army are using aid centres as target practice.

The Israeli government is proposing building a 'refugee' centre in Rafah with an extra special feature - no one is allowed to leave.

Last Friday

Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Danon clashed with a senior UN official at a General Assembly event Friday, shouting at her to "be quiet" after she attempted to raise a point of order.

The confrontation erupted during an event marking the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, where Danon directed sharp criticism at Pramila Patten, the secretary-general's special representative on sexual violence in conflict, demanding her resignation for a 2025 report that documented patterns of sexual violence against Palestinians detained in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

As Danon accused Patten of yielding to "the secretary general's obsession with targeting Israel," special representative for children and armed conflict Vanessa Frazier attempted to intervene.

"I'm sorry, but I have to make a point of order," said Frazier.

Danon responded by raising his voice at her.

"No, you be quiet! Because I am speaking now!" he said. "Shame on you. You are part of this obsession."

Frazier pushed back. "This should not be personal ... I want a point of order."

Danon continued, "We will not allow you to bully us. We are a member state, and you work for the UN, and you will be quiet now. You will be quiet, you and your shameful report."

Frazier recently published a report blacklisting Israel's army and security forces for grave violations against Palestinian children.

Her report revealed that children suffered the highest level of grave violations since a mandate was created three decades ago, with government forces responsible for the majority of abuses for the first time.

She was brilliant in that exchange.

I thought so too. I wonder how much effort will be made to make these lives very difficult as a result of these documentations.

Was reminded of the branding of Albanese as a ‘witch’ reading from her ‘spell book’ . At least he stopped short of that I suppose.

A house on a beach targeted by an Israeli strike on a sea turtle conservationist.

Who believes still this is about Hezbollah.

That's a lovely write up on what sounds like a fantastic woman. It's rare that a victim of Israel is even named nevermind given a dedicated article that discusses them as human, it's great to see and would be great to see more of that. Israel are killing people, they aren't just numbers.

Family and friends have bid farewell to Ahmed Wishah, the Al Jazeera cameraman killed in an Israeli air strike on Saturday. His death comes mere weeks after his brother, also an Al Jazeera journalist, was also killed by Israel.

From the Independent today:

“Israeli authorities and security forces deliberately targeted Palestinian children, resulting in genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Gaza, as well as war crimes in the occupied West Bank, an independent UN inquiry says.
The report, released on Tuesday by the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel examined violations against Palestinian children since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7, 2023.
About 30 per cent of those killed in the Gaza war were children, the report found.
A previous report by the commission, released in September 2025, found that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza and that top Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, incited these acts. Israel earlier called those accusations scandalous.
Israel also rejected what it called the Commission's "second defamatory advocacy report", Israel's mission in Geneva said on Tuesday.
"Israel dismisses this libelous sham," it said in a statement.
It added that "every child deserves protection" and claimed that the report ignored "the brutal tactics of Hamas".”
“The UN commission said that Palestinian children were deliberately targeted and killed during the war, including after a ceasefire came into effect in October 2025.
It said that this was a key element establishing genocidal intent by Israeli authorities and security forces to destroy the Palestinian group, in whole or in part, in Gaza.
“The evidence shows that Palestinian children have been deliberately targeted and killed by the Israeli security forces,” said Srinivasan Muralidhar, the commission's chair, in a statement accompanying the report.
More than 20,000 children killed
The report found that the proportion of children killed was higher than in previous conflicts. Between October 7, 2023 and October 7, 2025, at least 20,179 children were killed, around 30 per cent of the overall death toll.
By comparison, in hostilities in Gaza in 2008–2009 and 2014, children made up approximately 24 per cent of conflict-related fatalities, the report said.
Israeli forces continued to use high-payload munitions and weapons with wide-area effects in densely populated residential areas despite mounting child casualties, the commission said.”
“This indicates that such attacks, which killed children in such high numbers, were intentional.”
It said it believed children were targeted collectively because the Israeli security forces considered the civilian population as a whole to be associated with Hamas and other armed groups.
A rebuttal shared by Israel's mission in Geneva said Israel "consistently strives to minimise harm to children even in situations of conflict" and that Israel rejected the suggestion it deliberately targets children "in the strongest terms".
Mr Muralidhar said that by targeting children, Israel was undermining the capacity of the Palestinian people to exist and to determine their future.
Conditions imposed by Israel in Gaza, including widespread attacks, repeated displacement and starvation caused by the blockade of aid, food and medicine, severely harmed children’s health and development, resulting in preventable deaths and trauma, the report said.”
“The inquiry also found that attacks on healthcare and reproductive facilities impacted the survival of newborns and reported increases in miscarriages, and that nearly all children in Gaza were reported to require psychological support.
Israel's rebuttal said the report failed to mention Israel's role in facilitating vaccinations and the entry of medical staff, and the establishment of field hospitals. It accused Hamas of systematically diverting humanitarian aid and fuel for hospitals. Hamas has rejected such accusations.”

Just reading the reports this evening @JadeHare

It is worse than we thought.

A doctor who visited Gaza on a medical mission is quoted in the report, saying:

“Based on the clustering of injuries and the targeted body parts, I assess that the Israeli soldiers have been deliberately shooting teenage boys in a game of target practice – a different body part being targeted on different days… There is a very clear pattern that suggest this is a deliberate aiming of different body parts [of children].”

The report is far more graphic than I thought it would be

How can anyone ever support this now

this was reported September last year

Palestinian boys shot in testicles as “target practice”

Dr. Nick Maynard, from Oxford University Hospital, talks about Palestinian boys in Gaza with gunshot wounds he believes were caused by deliberate targeting by Israeli soldiers.’

Ellen2shoes · 23/06/2026 22:34

It has been widely reported and consistently ignored. I wonder if this will be too?

How many times before there is any action by our government?

Who are they waiting for?

Multiple consistent evidenced documentation of the intent to specifically kill children?

I can see why people don’t post on these threads any more when it seems so futile. But when I read reports by so many who refuse to give it up, it gives me strength to keep the faith on MN too. We may not make a difference, who knows, but at least we are still saying it.

This is wrong.

Martymcfly24 · 23/06/2026 23:05

It is so wrong @Ellen2shoes . No matter what your beliefs are regarding who started what and who owns the land surely the fundamental basics of human rights would dictate using children as target practice is just inhumane.

Is this going to be another world event we all look back at and collectively say how did that happen.

We are already looking back at the points in time and saying this, yet the situation worsens as inaction continues.

I wish I could clearly envisage a point at which justice prevails as vestiges of humanity are on every level bulldozed. I can’t but I do hope still and I applaud those who make that difference. The writers, and activists in Israel against all the odds, and and doctors and journalists in Palestine against all odds and ordinary people everywhere who will never let this lie

Yes.

The information in this thread is damning.

Boolabus · 24/06/2026 08:14

The report is thorough and conclusive but will be ignored and rejected as being from the UN which they don't trust and that will be the narrative that will prevail until the next inquiry then rinse and repeat. Israel's allies know what is happening and have no appetite to do anything about it beyond the odd stern word. They can't even bring themselves to approve any sort of sanctions.

Posters on here will then continue to be labeled anti-semitic for keeping the conversation going. I do think though that Israel's reputation is at an all time low and will continue to sink as more and more information and evidence comes out of Gaza and now Lebanon, hopefully elected representatives will get to a point where they can no longer ignore it.

Ellen2shoes · 24/06/2026 13:58

I don’t even think that it’s a case of not trusting the UN. It’s just that saying it is the only possible recourse.

This is an interesting TikTok from an Irish journalist.

I cannot understand how the information in this report is not worldwide news. Quadrocopter drones used to shoot children. A ten day old baby being breastfed shot dead.

Israel's allies should be ashamed. These are the actions of a genocidal state.

Wonder if that’s another game the IDF decided to play like in the UN report

Yes exactly this. Yes somehow the people protesting peacefully against this or even attempting to raise concerns on social media are labelled anti-semitic. Protestors are blamed because speaking about the genocide is apparently creating disunity in the community. I would think that the decision of Western Governments to support a genocide and then close down any discussion creates the disunity far more than average citizens attempting to voice concerns about it. How has the actions of a foreign Government become something that citizens are not allowed to question? How is questioning a foreign Government anti-semitic? The choices of a Government are no reflection of the Jewish people.

I think we have to hold onto the fact that Israel aren't convincing many people. Governments may be bound to donors and too fearful of international consequences to do anything, but the younger generation have a very different and much more realistic attitude to Israel. Their time of enjoying total support while stealing land and running an apartheid is over. This war and the horrors in Gaza have revealed the Netanyahu government for what it is and I don't think they can go back to hiding. It may take time, but I do believe that younger generations will treat Israel very differently than the unconditional support provided by much older Government ministers.
