The Israeli army are using aid centres as target practice.

The Israeli government is proposing building a 'refugee' centre in Rafah with an extra special feature - no one is allowed to leave.

Killing of young siblings at Gaza water point shows seeking life’s essentials now a deadly peril

Officials have been warned the closure of the Conflict and Security Monitoring project will mean the Foreign Office will lose access to a database of 26,000 verified incidents in the Middle East.

The U.K. seems to have its life steadily oozing out of it every day. What a loss closing this department will mean. It isn’t just a moral question, it’s also one of knowledge. To whom are you selling bombs? Who is lying to you?

The media need to stop calling them settlers they're vandals and terrorists, language matters, if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck.....

Local activists and human rights groups, including B’Tselem, said settlers entered the village of Hammamat al-Maleh with bulldozers and demolished the school and other community structures.
Well organised, Premeditated and planned

They said the destruction followed months of repeated incidents in the area, including earlier raids in March when settlers allegedly vandalised the school, stole equipment, smashed solar panels, damaged security cameras and destroyed water infrastructure.
So vandals and thieves

I'm not fully understanding the ramifications of this, when it states
the Foreign Office will lose access to a database of 26,000 verified incidents in the Middle East.
Am I right in assuming it's just the British foreign office losing access but access is still available in other jurisdictions?

Completely agree settlers is far too nice and fluffy a word for the vile violent thugs .

Yes I think that’s what it is saying, the key point is that the uk govt won’t have visibility of the volume of the “incidents” so can carry on being their allies with deniability I guess. Sickening really considering what’s been going on

Ellen2shoes · 26/04/2026 12:36

Have to own that I can’t quite get around the full implications of this closure, but I can understand the attempt to erase documentation as this has been an ongoing strategy of the Israeli government and their campaign to eliminate journalism. .
Reading about the awful murder of Amal Khalil brought to mind daily reports of murdered journalists in Gaza. Thought of
Mohammed Baalousha who documented the premature babies abandoned in NiCU in Al Nasr children’s hospital weeks after enforced evacuation. He was killed in an air strike a year later. So many brave journalists routinely targeted for exposing war crimes.

In these circumstances and where international journalism has been banned, the UK should be making every effort to document evidence, rather that brushing it under the carpet so that it isn’t in front of their noses.

The Israeli government has approved a $334 million plan to transfer thousands more Israeli civilians into the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, Human Rights Watch said today. The decision, adopted by the cabinet on April 17, 2026, is a clear statement of intent to commit war crimes.

Since 1967, Israeli authorities have barred the displaced Syrians, who retain the right to return, from returning to their homes in the occupied Golan Heights and destroyed hundreds of Syrian villages and farms in the territory. According to the Syrian government, those displaced, including their descendants, now number in the hundreds of thousands.

It's another area where the international community do not recognise it as Israeli and see it as another illegal military occupied territory, but they're still there and investing in the area and rehousing so it's unlikely to ever change.

"Israeli-made weapons designed to spray high levels of shrapnel are causing horrific injuries to civilians in Gaza and disproportionately harming children"

"Adusumilli⁩ said fragmentation weapons resulted in high numbers of amputations among children who survived.

“It was unbelievable the number of amputations we had to do, especially on children, he said. “The option you’ve got to save their life is to amputate their leg or their hands or their arms. It was a constant flow of amputations every day.”"

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20260430-disabled-palestinian-child-assaulted-by-israeli-forces-in-occupied-east-jerusalem/

Boy with Down Syndrome chased by IDF soldiers and detained . Video is damning.

Stirabout · 03/05/2026 02:27

On the news a doctor from the Flotilla was interviewed and said people were suffering from Genocide fatigue.
This fatigue is key to what we are seeing in the U.K. now

Seeing the horrors in the news committed by the IDF and the Israeli Government is starting to normalise it. I have just been reading a mn thread about the ‘other’ victim of the stabbings in London. I was shocked that people were condoning police violence.!!! Yes condoning it !! Violence against others has become

normalised
and
Justified even

The Gaza war was justified because Israel has a right to defend itself.
No one stopped the war crimes and genocide that Israel committed. None of which can be justified as a means to defence. So Now some people seem to think violence and subjugation are acceptable.

Even by the U.K. police. !!

Why would people accept the U.K. polices aggressive actions in the arrest of the perpetrator in Golders Green.
I do not understand this mindset

Israels wars.
The US support and Starmers lack of backbone on them have had a negative effect in our own country
Not only with rising Islamophobia and Antisemitism but also with normalising and accepting the hate of others.

This will be a long standing problem here well after all the wars are over
This is the reality of what Israel are doing
worldwide!
and it’s very very scarey

Stirabout · 03/05/2026 02:41

Martymcfly24 · 02/05/2026 21:58

You see Marty
Ive just watched that and why am I not as horrified as I should be.

Worrying isn’t it
and Worrying more so if you agree with these actions by the IDF in the first place.

The normalising is making people more extreme and removing all empathy

On Another subject
Looks like the IDF had absolutely no reason to attack at all.

The guy was doing nothing wrong !
surprise surprise

Martymcfly24 · 03/05/2026 08:37

I know @Stirabout there is a type of fatigue about the cruelty of the IDF . Am I surprised by their actions anymore, no. Like watching the video of the scum who attacked the nun and another man just standing there watching you feel like this is an alternate universe. How is this being allowed and in some places lauded.

I fear for Israeli society when these people leave the IDF and the power they have gotten through bullying the most vulnerable is gone. Where will it be displaced to?

Stirabout · 03/05/2026 16:11

Both look like They’ve been beaten up

Stirabout · 04/05/2026 15:43

From your article Jane

‘ The event was also attended by right wing activist Benzi Gopstein, who was convicted for inciting racism in 2024 after he’d been charged for inciting violence, racism and support for terrorism in 2019. Gopstein and his affiliated groups have been sanctioned by Singapore, the UK, Canada and the former Biden administration for acts of violence against Palestinian and Arab communities’

Surrounding himself with racists ……wiki

‘ Anti-Arab Incitement: Prosecutors have cited his speeches and interviews in which he called Arab citizens "a cancer" and suggested they should be beaten.
Opposition to Coexistence: He has opposed intermarriage and coexistence efforts, including acting against Jewish-Arab schools in Jerusalem.
Advising Ben-Gvir: Leaked messages in 2024 indicated that Gopstein influenced, and in some cases dictated, security operations in East Jerusalem and police appointments through his connection to Ben-Gvir.’

With these sort of people running Israel there’s no hope

Martymcfly24 · 04/05/2026 19:47

The cake with the noose his wife presented him with also said "Sometimes dreams come true"

So the IDF are claiming the women were released in Gaza shortly after the picture was taken. Either they're lying, or don't know what became of them in custody or they came to harm after being released. It again demonstrates how little they care about Palestinian lives.
Why did they even take them in the first place?
