The Israeli army are using aid centres as target practice.

The Israeli government is proposing building a 'refugee' centre in Rafah with an extra special feature - no one is allowed to leave.

So the IDF are claiming the women were released in Gaza shortly after the picture was taken. Either they're lying, or don't know what became of them in custody or they came to harm after being released. It again demonstrates how little they care about Palestinian lives.
Why did they even take them in the first place?

A78 year old and 41 year old woman. Exactly what would they have taken them for.

And why blindfold them . That's sadistic.
No way they don't know what happened. The IDF has tabs on everyone in Palestine.

and we continue to do nothing about what the Israeli Government are doing

I simply do not understand the continued support they get

From Oxfam.org.uk

DOES THE UK SELL ARMS TO ISRAEL?
The UK is supplying millions of pounds worth of arms to Israel. This makes it complicit in the killing of civilians taking place every day across the occupied Palestinian territory.
Last updated: 20 February 2026
British arms sales to Israel
Since 2015, the UK has licensed at least £500 million worth of military exports to Israel.
There are also a number of additional open licences in place that the government does not publicly report on, so the figure is likely to be much higher.
Even though the government has suspended a small number of arms licences, there are still hundreds remaining.
The UK must not continue to be complicit in Israel’s illegal war.
Stop arming Israel: sign the petition
Does the UK sell F-35 fighter jets to Israel?
The UK provides approximately 15% of the components in the F-35 fighter jets which are used in airstrikes across the occupied Palestinian territory.

This includes the rear fuselage and active interceptor system, ejector seats, aircraft tyres, refuelling probe, laser targeting system, and the fan propulsion system.
The UK government has said it only supplies these parts to Israel indirectly, via a global programme led by the US company Lockheed Martin. The UK is a programme partner, and supplies parts produced by BAE Systems and other companies.
The UK government claims this global supply chain means that parts cannot be tracked. This is untrue. The legal obligation to stop supplying parts that risk being used to violate international law would apply regardless.
What other types of military support does the UK provide to Israel?
The UK produces components for Israeli armed and surveillance drones. The parts are made by UK-linked companies and then assembled in Israeli factories. These drones are ever-present above Gaza and the West Bank, used both for spying missions and in attacks on civilians.
The UK military provides intelligence from spy flightsover Gaza and the West Bank to enable Israeli military operations. They also allow the US to use UK military bases on Cyprus to do the same, which facilitates Israeli attacks on Palestinians.
The UK also trains Israeli military personnel in Britain, but the government keeps details of these missions secret.
How does the UK's arms export system work?
If a UK company wants to export military goods to another nation, they need to apply for a government licence first.
A licence can't be granted, or should be revoked, if there's a clear risk that arms sold by the UK could be used to violate human rights or international law by the country they have been sold to.
Has the UK government stopped arms sales to Israel?
In September 2024, the UK government finally recognised the risk that UK arms are being used in violation of international law in Gaza. As a result, they announced some restrictions on direct arms sales to Israel.
However, suspending a small proportion of over 360 licences is not enough. The government created a loophole for F-35 fighter jets. It has argued it will continue to indirectly supply parts to Israel via the global programme led by the US - for reasons of international peace and security.
Additionally, the UK continues to support Israel militarily with intelligence and training.
The government must not prioritise perceived security or economic advantage over the UK’s legal and moral obligations.
This selective application of the law has contributed to devastating and irreparable harm to Palestinians.

Shame on the UK Government for not stopping all support

Oxfam GB | Stop arming Israel: sign our petition now

I've called on the UK government to step up to its legal and moral obligation to stop ALL arms sales and military support to Israel. This is a crucial step towards accountability and justice. #StopArmingIsrael

On the news a doctor from the Flotilla was interviewed and said people were suffering from Genocide fatigue.
This fatigue is key to what we are seeing in the U.K. now

Seeing the horrors in the news committed by the IDF and the Israeli Government is starting to normalise it. I have just been reading a mn thread about the ‘other’ victim of the stabbings in London. I was shocked that people were condoning police violence.!!! Yes condoning it !! Violence against others has become

normalised
and
Justified even

The Gaza war was justified because Israel has a right to defend itself.
No one stopped the war crimes and genocide that Israel committed. None of which can be justified as a means to defence. So Now some people seem to think violence and subjugation are acceptable.

Even by the U.K. police. !!

Why would people accept the U.K. polices aggressive actions in the arrest of the perpetrator in Golders Green.
I do not understand this mindset

Israels wars.
The US support and Starmers lack of backbone on them have had a negative effect in our own country
Not only with rising Islamophobia and Antisemitism but also with normalising and accepting the hate of others.

This will be a long standing problem here well after all the wars are over
This is the reality of what Israel are doing
worldwide!
and it’s very very scarey

Edited

I feel the same about the weird sense of familiarisation around situations which are shocking.
I read this post by Ezzideen Shehab yesterday. He’s a 28 year old physician who set up Alrahma Medical Center in 2024, a small clinic in Jabalia to ‘help people because of the complete siege on hospitals’. By Aug 2025 he had lost 72 family members.
He wrote yesterday about a small child who was brought to the clinic. Her face was covered in mosquito bites, which he assumed he would be treating, but her mother seemed surprised that he had even noticed the bites. The bites had become normalised. She was brought in because of severe diarrhoea caused by milk received as aid.

There are places where suffering is no longer an event. It becomes a condition. Something continuous, like the air.
In such places, distinctions disappear. What should alarm us no longer does. What should be temporary settles into permanence.
A child can be covered in bites and it is nothing unusual.
Children sleep amongst insects and rodents. They fall ill from what is given to sustain them. Each day is organised around endurance.
No one calls this life. But it continues.
One adapts. That is perhaps the most troubling part. Because adaptation gives the appearance of order. It creates the illusion that things can go on like this.
But there are limits that should not be crossed.
When they are, the world does not collapse. It simply becomes quieter. And in that quiet, what is intolerable begins to resemble the normal.
For anyone who’s interested, last year WLT published his poem, And Hunger Was Given Dominion over Us. His book, Diary of a Young Doctor was published this year.

That poem is heartbreaking @Ellen2shoes it really captures the desolation of the life lived by Palestinians and the horrendous conditions inflicted on them.

No surprise is it

This is the part of the speech the bbc cut

Navia said
: “Israel has killed over 47,000 children and women in Gaza.

“Its killed over 1700 Palestinian doctors and health care workers. It has imprisoned over 400 in what the UN now calls the medicide

“These are the findings of our investigation that the BBC paid for but refused to show.
“But we refuse to be silenced and censored. We thank Channel 4 for showing this film.
“Right now, there are over 80 Palestinian doctors and healthcare workers being held in detention centres that Israeli human rights groups describe as torture camps. We dedicate this award to them.”

ie
They banned the Truth being aired

Makes you think what else have they refused to air about
What Israel is really doing

Ah I didn't realise they cut all that I didn't see the baftas and just read the transcript of the speech today. That's disappointing, the baftas haven't got much right this season

.Israeli army holds dozens in West Bank raid, as occupiers escalate attacks

Israeli occupiers attack Palestinian property, steal sheep, tractors on outskirts of Sinjil, north of Ramallah
Qais Abu Samra
13 May 2026•Update: 13 May 2026

RAMALLAH, Palestine
Israeli forces held dozens of Palestinians during a military raid in the West Bank on Wednesday, as occupiers escalated their attacks across the occupied territory, witnesses said.
Witnesses told Anadolu that Israeli forces stormed the town of Dura, south of Hebron, with several military vehicles, searched several homes and vandalised their contents.

According to witnesses, Israeli forces held more than 22 people, including a lawyer, and questioned them for hours inside homes they turned into temporary detention centers before later releasing them.
During their withdrawal, Israeli forces fired stun grenades and tear gas at residents, causing several people to suffer temporary asphyxiation, the witnesses added.

Videos circulating online showed Israeli forces raiding homes and turning one into a detention site. Another video showed detainees being released after interrogation.
Meanwhile, a group of Israeli occupiers raided the outskirts of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, attacked Palestinian property and stole a flock of sheep, agricultural tractors and vehicles, witnesses said.

According to witnesses, Israeli forces protected the occupiers during the attack, prevented Palestinians from confronting them and fired tear gas and stun grenades toward residents.
The attack came amid rising occupier attacks in the West Bank, including assaults on Palestinian villages, arson attacks on property, and land seizures.
The occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, has seen an escalation in Israeli military operations, including raids, arrests, shootings and excessive use of force, alongside rising occupier attacks on Palestinians and their property.

Since October 2023, attacks by the Israeli army and occupiers have

killed 1,155 Palestinians, wounded about 11,750 and led to the arrest of nearly 22,000,

according to official Palestinian figures.

About 100 pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered outside a New York synagogue for the second time in six months to demonstrate against an Israeli real estate event featuring properties for sale in the occupied West Bank.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the real estate event. A spokesperson for Mamdani told The Intercept that some of the properties being marketed were

“illegal under international law and deeply tied to the ongoing displacement of Palestinians”.

The demonstration was organised by Pal-Awda NY, which staged a similar protest outside the same synagogue during an Israeli real estate event in November.
Since then, the New York City Council has passed legislation restricting demonstrations near religious institutions. Under the new rules, police are required to publish plans establishing buffer zones during protests outside places of worship.
The event in New York, formally known as the Great Israeli Real Estate Event, is held in the United States and Canada to help foreign buyers purchase property in Israel and relocate there.
Under international law, Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are illegal.
While US administrations have condemned the expansions of such settlements, which are seen as a major impediment to a future Palestinian state, they have rarely taken concrete action against Israel.

This happens in the UK too. Shivat Zion attend these kind of land sales in the UK and help British citizens move to illegal settlements. They claim UK gift aid too. The British government are well aware that this is happening but don't seem to care.

Unsurprisingly Israel have attacked this piece saying it was timed to undermine their own report on the sexual violence by Hamas and called it a blood libel.

There's an excellent article in the NY Times called The Silence that meets the Rape of Palestinians .

Sexual violence is becoming a hallmark of this conflict by both sides.

the report on the systematic sexual violence against Palestinian prisoners was released before

So hardly released to undermine anything
and why would they as The Human Rights Council had already issued a report in 2024.
