This is one of the most shameful articles I have read regarding the IDF's war crimes in Gaza.

This soldier talks openly how they would shoot innocent Palestinians and how it was like the wild west. The commanders would act depending on how they felt that day. Whether to shoot innocent civilians or kidnap them. Some held the belief that there are no innocents in Gaza and acted accordingly and this belief and subsequent war crimes were not challenged.

It's a hard read but a must. Especially for those who insist the IDF are only fighting Hamas and innocents are just caught up. This article aswell as many others shows that innocents have always been targeted.

I am aware but I am also aware of what the IDF endure.
I think that if you actually want to ‘free Gaza’ you need to start condemning the group that initiated this current conflict

Posters who support the rights of Palestinians can condemn Hamas. But you can't condemn Israeli war crimes. What does that say about you?

What does that have to do with the IDF admitting to targeting civilians?

What I would like to know is how it was verified that this anonymous person was actually an IDF soldier? I can’t see it in the article.

It’s not as if this whole conflict was created as a propaganda war was it now? It’s also well known that IDF uniforms have been used by Hamas.

From the standpoint of the IDF who have decades of experience in dealing with terrorism involving ‘civilians’, including men, women and even children, I can understand why they may not trust that civilians are just that especially in no go zones.

Shame Hamas and the other terrorist groups in the region don’t wear clearly defined terrorist uniforms when carrying out their resistance activities, as well as protecting children and non involved civilians by keeping them separate from their activities. It would make things a lot easier all round and would have probably ended this war a lot quicker.

Sadly they don’t want that.

Gaza was allowed to become a terrorist enclave right under the nose of the UN and the rest of the international community.

Gazans who want to live in peace are paying the price for that. Anyone who supports the rights of Palestinians should be outraged and sickened by that as well.

Its s sky news interview. They didnt pick any random person from the street. Unless you think they are lying? They even wrote that they had to hide the identity of the soldier per his request because of the backlash he will face from his community.

He's not the only soldier that has come forward to admit war crimes and state that these were orders from superiors. There was an article with testimonies of soldiers in Haaretz too.

I take it you didnt read the article or watch the interview of the soldier if you are doubting whether it's really an IDF soldier.

Israel is targeting Hamas; who like to be with civilians rather than somewhere there are no civilians.

Israel is targeting more than hamas and you know it. Children shot by snipers, are they hamas? The little girl shot dead in the car her family was murdered in, was she hamas?

I decided to shoot some Palestinians in the head today. Hamas made me do it.

I shot a kid running over to the mum I'd already shot, and shot the kids as well. Hamas made me do it.

I used a tank to shoot an elderly person who got lost on their way from getting food. Hamas made me do it.

There are plenty of examples of the IDF attacking non Hamas fighter; old blind men, teenagers with downs syndrome, an ivf centre housing eggs/sperm/embryos. Or what about children snatched and taken off to be tried by military courts? Children taken out of Gaza? Do you condemn all these acts by the idf?

Why is IDF so freaking bad at targeting? Most incompetent army?

I don’t doubt commanders have ordered their troops to shoot first and ask questions later in a war arena like this one btw, which is unprecedented in modern warfare.

Sadly the MO of the terrorists they are fighting has created that situation.

I can see from both sides the terrible choices the soldiers on the ground have to make as well as the horrific loss of civilians.

Which is why I never understood why there has never been more calls for Hamas to surrender from the deafeningly loud pro-Palestinian side.

And yet the solider didn’t make any suggestion that he or his squad felt that every person they shot was Hamas, in fact he clearly states the opposite, which is not what you keep repeating.
