This is just unbelievable. These ‘protesters’ are being given free rein to threaten and assault pro-Israelis (Jewish) because ‘there’s 500 of them and 2 of you’.

Police not interested in doing their job, which is upholding the law I thought?

Just sickening that this country has come to this.

@PhilomenaPunk FFS you fear all men constantly?
Do you never leave the house then?

You saying it's not disgusting to actively wish harm on random strangers? Or only when Israelis do it?

No I’m saying that taking offence seems to have become a get out clause in this debate.

beachcitygirl · 25/06/2025 13:16

@TulipLavenderwell said. Feelings are not as important as actions.

It wasn’t a statement it was a specific question which you swerved.

Here you’ve said more about Jewish people feeling unsafe but it’s not an issue for you.

OTH I don’t want that in our society, Jewish people should feel safe.

And Palestinian children should be safe.

Do you know you’ve made me think there. And I would say yes, I probably do. But unlike a lot of posters on this thread I don’t think my feelings should override other people’s right to actions. But yes, I do leave the house, don’t worry.

I asked if you’d considered how some people felt. You sound committed enough to keep going.

It doesn’t mean others will see those actions the same way. And it won’t always bring support.

The precedent isn’t new btw there’s plenty who are proscribed.

People don’t want terrorism and their supporters, no. So I guess you’re in the minority.

No, I don’t want terrorism. We just have different perception of what it is.
I don’t care about a plane’s hurt feelings.

I too want Palestinian children to BE safe.

Interesting. What is your definition of terrorism in the UK?

Only Gaza keeping you awake?

You do understand that Gaza is not just about Gaza? It is about all people and humanity.
If it’s ok to starve children in Gaza, why not in the UK? Why not cut all pip and all disability benefits? Hell, why not cut NHS support to all chronic conditions?
We only have one soul (heart) each, you can’t deny humanity for people in Palestine but be kind to people in other countries. Well, only if you are a nazi.

I also want Jewish people to feel safe. I can want both Jewish people to feel safe and march against the Israeli’s war crimes in Palestine and for an end to the war. I think most people can manage that.

Yes I am committed enough to keep highlighting rank hypocrisy and calling out colonialism and genocide. And if me focusing upon a state’s brutal murder campaign hurts feelings then that’s a risk I’m willing to take.

No, apparently you have to be divisive and tribalistic. Nothing less seems to be acceptable for a lot of people.

Do you feel you are not this when answering on the safety of Jewish people? You said their feelings were not important.

Are you considering those feelings now?

Very well said. Some people seem to be under the misapprehension that humanity = concern only for those who look like them or live in their country. The lessons of the twentieth century have been utterly lost.

Hang on a minute, don’t put words in my mouth. Why do people always do that in these debates?

I didn’t say Jewish people’s feelings were not important. I said nobody’s feelings are as important as actions. Do not attempt to make me out to be something I’m not because it won’t work.

Absolutely agree it’s a humanitarian issue. What I don’t understand is how the majority can ignore the rest of the global persecution in favour of only one country.
Why is Gaza worth marching for and not any other country?

No, Nazis deliberately and systematically targeted a particular race to slaughter.

I don’t see why you’d position yourself as less tribalistic than others posting tbf

I have no ties to either but I do care about people here who feel unsafe. That’s not good, plus the terrorism is unwelcome.

You sound committed which is fine. Quite a few people are. However that doesn’t mean it’s always perceived as intended or supported.

Whose plight have you marched for? Please do share if you think another group needs more support than they are currently getting. And I won’t speak for anybody else but there are a lot of humanitarian issues that I actively support, the plight of the Palestinian people being one of them.

Another interesting comment.
Why do you think this has anything to do with looking the same?
How can someone preach humanity and be so narrow minded to be only concerned about a specific country?
What are the lessons of that have been utterly lost?

Well as long as everything is okay in your own backyard I’m sure you’ll be fine. And no comment on attempting to make out I said things I haven’t?

And I actually have ties to both and to all. Because I am a human being and have the ability to call out injustice regardless of my own sense of identity.
