This is just unbelievable. These ‘protesters’ are being given free rein to threaten and assault pro-Israelis (Jewish) because ‘there’s 500 of them and 2 of you’.

Police not interested in doing their job, which is upholding the law I thought?

Just sickening that this country has come to this.

Two million Arabs with equal rights in Israel - so not ethnic cleansing is it?

It's Gaza they have been open about wanting to ethnically cleanse. Gaza isn't Israel yet.

This poster has insisted this is the case on several threads even when they have been shown evidence that shows they are wrong. Maybe they think if they say it enough times then It will magically come true.

You mean like the make believe ‘genocide’?

TomeTome · 25/06/2025 10:45

I think there’s protesting and there’s inciting violence and raising tension and, myself, I would say waving an Israeli flag in the middle of a Palestinian protest was the latter. These are not brave young men defending their cause. To my mind these are crass thugs taunting a miserable beleaguered people. Shame on them, and shame on those who encouraged or defend them.

Dangermoo · 25/06/2025 10:46

Like the ones a few years back, before 7/10, driving through London calling for the rape of jews...oh hang on.

On these 'peace' marches you never see any calls to free the Israeli hostages or any condemnation of hamas actions on 7/10, quite the opposite in fact. Do they really want peace, or the destruction of Israel?

Lot of hate speech on this thread, I don't expect it to last.

The thread has gone in exactly the direction, predicted. It is the CITME board, after all ❤️

Would you be more comfortable with “slaughter”?

xanthomelana · 25/06/2025 10:48

Most people are sick of both flag waving protesters. Everyone I know just wants to stop seeing innocent civilians on both sides getting killed. You know it’s bad when even Trump has had enough of it all and has called out both sides.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 25/06/2025 10:50

Peaceful protest for Palestine is an oxymoron. The current war, started by Palestine and during which Palestine has fired tens of thousands of missiles at the country it invaded, is just the current excuse for the same people who have nothing better to do than march against a single tiny country 3000 miles away, purely because Jewish people live there.

For me, as someone who isn't Jewish, the Palestine flag is a symbol of hatred and racism. How dare anyone involved with these disruptive marches think they have the right to control our streets and stop other people waving their own flags. How have we allowed this situation to arise in the UK? We need to do something about the extremist mobs we have emboldened, not blame people because they were attacked by thugs. I note the people with Israeli flags didn't feel 'provoked' to violentlt attack the other side.

Palestine freely chose to commit a terrorist atrocity and then to perpetuate the relatively minor conflict it started and is losing. The situation in Gaza may be awful for the people living there but it is absolutely not genocide and it's an insult to call it that when real genocides are going on right now, they didn't have to start a war and the country they attacked is allowed to defend itself against the tens of thousands of missiles it's been bombarded with, good job it has a strong defence system because I guarantee no supposed anti-war pro-Palestinians are marching against the carnage their pet cause is trying its best to carry on with.

The people on the hate marches are neither miserable nor beleaguered but rather emboldened and clearly violent. They're the crass thugs raising tensions and it's dangerous and out of control.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he is “committed” to a United States proposal to take over the Gaza Strip and displace its Palestinian residents, as Washington’s top diplomat was in Saudi Arabia to push the plan, which is opposed by Arab states.
In a statement on Monday, Netanyahu said he was “committed to US President Trump’s plan for the creation of a different Gaza”.
Human rights groups have slammed the Trump administration’s push to take over Gaza and forcibly displace Palestinians as a violation of international law amounting to ethnic cleansing.

What would you like to call it instead @HellsBalls?

US committed to ‘buying and owning’ Gaza, Trump says

US president says other countries in the Middle East could be tasked with rebuilding parts of the war-ravaged enclave.

Palestinians did not "start" this. By 1949 Zionist invading forces had taken more than 78 percent of historic Palestine, ethnically cleansed and destroyed about 530 villages and cities, and killed about 15,000 Palestinians in a series of mass atrocities, including more than 70 massacres. In the decades following Israel continued to displace, torture and kill Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied west Bank. Making their little strip of land smaller and smaller and treating them like 2nd class citizens in their own county but when some Palestinians try to fight back against the invaders they are the "terrorists"?

It’s disgusting isn’t it? There is not even the remotest possibility that any government, religion or group could convince me that murdering children is the right thing to do. Never in a million years. My sense of humanity would never permit me to sanction that.

TomeTome · 25/06/2025 10:58

So if your people were surrounded, starved, and slaughtered in their tens of thousands what would you do?

I'm not being funny but I wouldn't have wanted to start a war, nor would I have been in favour of invading a neighbouring country and committing a horrifying terrorist atrocity. Which would have made me very out of step with the general population of Palestine on eg 7th October 2023 but there we are.

Echobelly · 25/06/2025 11:05

I need a bit more context than a partisan clip on x on this before I could comment. I am Jewish and unfortunately there have been incidents where pro-Israel types have turned up to be provocative and started filming only once they've provoked people and then gone 'oh how antisemitic that we've got in trouble' Obviously if that's the case the others shouldn't have risen to abusing them back, but we don't know what they were saying.

Maybe it was just unfortunate they ran into pro-Palestine people who abused them, or maybe they turned up deliberately and gloated about Palestinian deaths at them. I can't tell from that clip. Unfortunately it's pretty hard to know what to trust these days.

Palestine is the invaded country! People shouldn't fight back after 80 years of having their families murderd, forcefully displaced, had their homes stolen by settlers from Texas claiming that "god" promised them this land?
You don't think that living under apartheid and seeing you and your kids living under the occupiers torture could force you to take drastic actions of violence against your oppressors?

Oh good grief! Yes they did start it. Stop infantilising Palestinians. Allow them the agency they took as human beings. They committed a horrifying terrorist action and they revelled in it.

(the West Bank was part of Jordan until Arab states invaded Israel in 1967 and lost, after which it was ceded to Israel. So why Palestinians tried to settle - colonise? - the area I have no idea. Israel hasn't been in Gaza for decades, it's long past time for Palestine to stand on its own two feet rather than demand Israel supplies - not controls - its water etc)

I think many do have sympathy for Jewish people who feel unsafe in their vicinity and I don’t think the recent PA action has moved the public in a positive way.

People mostly don’t want these kinds of threats here.

Apartheid in this case meaning treated as foreign citizens in another country, exactly like all other countries do. To trivialise such a word by applying it to standard global procedure is abhorrent and unspeakably offensive, it really is.

The idea that you can kill tens of thousands mostly terrified children and civilian women and then squeak about being “offended” is a little tone deaf.

Ok so you think that was terrorism but not Nakba in 1948 where 15,000 Palestinians were murdered and hundreds of thousands displaced by Zionists invading their country?
What about the 1400 Palestinians murdered by Israel in 2008 or the over 2000 in 2014? How about the illegal abduction of palestinian CHILDREN and detaining them for years for throwing stones at their oppressors.
Not to mention the blocking of aid and bombing of civilians.
I don't think it's right for any innocent people to die like they did on October 7th but Israel has tortured Palestinians for decades so its no wonder why some become terrorists.

Probably start by marching, and protesting.

Like the majority of people in the uk my family have already fought a war against true antisemitism and sacrificed those we loved that a place like Israel could even exist. That it has grown to be what it is today, is horrifying. I hope it doesn’t escalate any further and that the Israelis wake up to what they have become. At present they are ever more isolated and behaving in an ever more unstable and unconscionable way.
