I mean how many is a few? In relation to the Israeli population or even the Israeli settler population the Israelis who act as chaperones are few. I didn't say that everyone else was wanting to attack, I was talking about the people who actually physically put themselves out there and help. The only alternative to that isn't gnashing your teeth wanting to kill everyone Confused That's extreme black and white thinking.

Edited

How many people in any country do you think go out of their way and even put themselves in harms way to help people in a neighbouring country? If they're even able to? Are all the people who dont do that bad eggs or just Israelis?

I’m sure there are more than “a few good eggs”.

I don’t think you would like it if I implied that amongst the Palestinian people there are only “a few good eggs” and everyone else wanting to attack Israeli people if they could.

In terms of the settlers @mylegishangingoff is correct. Most of them who live there do so knowing they are living on illegally occupied stolen Palestinian land. They do so knowing they are infringing on the rights of the Palestinians but they don't care. If they weren't 'bad eggs' they wouldn't choose to live on stolen land.

I didn't say the rest were bad eggs. Jesus you can't even compliment people on their good deeds with people taking offence on behalf of the people that haven't done the good deed. If I say someone who ran a marathon and raised 5000 for charity is a good egg, I don't think that everybody else who didn't is a bad egg. Again what is with the black and white thinking?

The people who risk their safety to protect Palestinians from the IDF and settlers are brave and well, good. That doesn't mean nobody else is brave or good.

Please read the first four words again. My post is in reference to the settlers.

And the post I was responding to wasn't just in reference to the settlers. Maybe you should read it again.

But I'm sorry, I wasn't aware I wasnt allowed to respond to comments I'm not tagged in.

The full referent / noun phrase here was

‘a few good eggs out there that try and prevent Israeli settler and government sanctioned violence and abuse where they can’

It was more specific than just ‘a few good eggs’

I don’t think the intention was to say there are only a small handful of good Israeli people.

Yes but it wasn’t just referring to the Settlers was it? It was wider than that.

Listen, if i said there are only a few good eggs then your faux outrage might mean something. My post is perfectly clear, the Israelis helping Palestinians are good people. I did not say or even infer that every other Israeli is bad. That was your extremism at play there.

Palestinians needs to have democratic elections. There hasn't been one since 2006 in Gaza and since about then in the West Bank too I believe

There also needs to be a comprehensive deradicalisation programme to save the next generation

Palestinian Muslim father admits he will happily put bombs on his daughter and help her explode in Israel to kill Jews and become a martyr. This interview was conducted by an Israeli journalist during a pro-Hamas rally in the West Bank.

I can find vile statements said by extremist Israelis too in the cesspit of 'X' from years ago. Not sure what point you are trying to prove.

Instead of the whataboutery maybe you could comment on Palestinian extremism and how important deradicalisation is so they don't lead their children to needless deaths. I thought you were against extremism?

I mean there was a whole documentary aired about them other night, you don't need to dig back anywhere. If people want to talk about deradicalisation those awful people and their poor children would make good candidates.

The only one doing whatsboutery on this thread is you.

PollyPaintsFlowers · 30/04/2025 22:11

I've yet to see an Israeli wish for death for their children. I've never seen anything like that video certainly. And from the reactions in Israel it seems there's a great sense of loss and sadness over the loss of lives on 7/10 and in the IDF. There hasn't been any glorification of their children being harmed, quite the opposite

There's extremists on both sides, but I think Palestinian extremism is on a whole other level. I don't know why a father would want that for his child, let's be honest, it's sick! And then things like the Itamar Massacre where Palestinians murdered a family in their beds, the youngest being three months old. The programme didn't show that at all though. I can only guess at why

I think all extremism is wrong, I don't hear that from others. In fact moderates are dismissed at best, and receive death threats and need police protection at worst
