You do realise three Arab states declared war against Israel, Jordan, Syria and Egypt and 700,000 Arabs fled. The Arabs who remained are now Arab Israelis who constitute 20% of the population and have the same rights as the Israelis. The 700 000 has swelled to 2 million which means if they all "returned" means it's no longer a Jewish state.

I've just seen a video of a likud party member yelling at an Arab Israeli party member in the knesset 'you will die, your children will die, your grandchildren will die.' While Minister Orik Stroot denied that Palestinians even exist. The idea that Israel is kind of bastion of equality is farcical, it isn't even hidden, it's there in plain sight. I think when you have to compare a country to Afghanistan to find a country with worse equality then you should probably stop and think about what it is you are so determined to defend.

I don't think people who are loosely pro-Israel want 'business as usual' at all. Business as usual means extremism & injustices on all sides and ongoing conflict. It means constant attacks on Israel from Hamas and Houuthis and a gradual eroding of all that has been good is Israel's pluralistic democratic society. It means ignoring the hostages and ongoing killing of civilians i Gaza. It also means ignoring human rights abuses in the rest of the world and only being interested in, say the persecution of Christians, or the rights of women, if Israel is at fault. And oh yes, all the responses to this post are predictable (I could write them now). But any neutral observer can see the obsession with Israel alone on MN.
