Isreali government well on top of the law when they want to be.

UK Lawyers for Israel is an organisation run by BRITISH lawyers.

And? So not Isreali government but still lawyers acting in the interest of Isreal who are on top of the law when it is a bowls competition but not so much when it's war crimes. I'm merely pointing out the hypocrisy. To add I don't condone any laws being broken.

I can't see any indication that the law firm or the decision to reinstate the players has anything to do with the Israeli government.

UK lawyers pointing out illegal activity. What"s your problem with advocating for the law to be adhered to in the UK? Do you think its ok for organisations to illegally ban countries they don't like from competitions or gatherings?

You'll find UKLFI are a highly distinguished group of British lawyers with extensive experience of practicing law in Britain. They have slso done a lot of research and publications on all sorts of aspects of the law including on the laws of combat and inyernational law. I don't think you are a lawyer are you? So I suspect they are rather more 'on top' of it than any of us.

No it doesn't. Just Jewish lawyers acting in the 'interests' of the Israeli government, apparently, rather than the reality of experienced snd respected British lawyers being committed to upholding the law in the UK.

stomachamelon · 02/01/2025 12:52

And mindful of the fact they were happily taking money for sponsorship. And advertising.

@Dulra is there any reason you are repeatedly spelling Israel incorrectly? Also if you don't condone laws being broken why does it irk you so much that a group has pointed that out in this instance?

My problem is the hypocrisy of posters annoyance that they were breaking the law in banning Israel but no such shock at the country they're representing continually breaking the law.

My comment isn't directed at the law organisation their role is obviously to investigate laws being broken in relation to Israelis.

I don't think you are a lawyer are you?
No I'm not I just found your statement with your exclamation marks amusing.

No, it is not repeatedly though is it? I've been posting here for over a year how often has it happened?
Stop being goady it is obviously for reasons such as posting in a rush, not sure why I'm bothering to respond to you anyway because you don't take me seriously.

As I said, I'll take their legal expertise over yours.

You are missing the point of what I'm saying. Their legal advice is sound I never doubted that.
I just find it hypocritical that it appears important in some instances to uphold the law but not in others, and as I've said I don't condone the law being broken ever under any circumstances.

When has this particular legal firm failed to uphold the law?

Obviously just another excuse to criticise Israel ..

Illegal!!!!! What do you mean like killing 40,000+ people illegal?

FFS.

Isreali government well on top of the law when they want to be.

It never cease to amaze me when the Israeli government invoques laws to defend their interest but, for some reasons, are happy to break any when it comes to Gaza, Lebanon or Syria.

Cheers for that personal insult for no reason whatsoever. Could you point out where I criticised Israel or are you just a fan of jumping on the bandwagon of insulting a poster

Again, what do the Israeli government have to do with a bowls competition in Norfolk?

Very funny perhaps you could just accept that it was a typo because I assume you can't find any other evidence that I have continually misspelled Israel as you accused me of?
Twice now you have accused me of something that you haven't been able to back up, beginning to feel it is personal.

Auvergne63 · 02/01/2025 17:02

BoydTheApe · 02/01/2025 16:52

Who instructed the lawyers? Any sport person who competes on the international stage represents their country and, therefore their government who are elected by the citizens of said country.
Do you think that the UK government wouldn't have a word, directly or indirectly, with whoever is the legal representative of their athlete if they found themselves banned? I don't think it is a far fetch premise.
