@itwasnevermine I've only seen it on Al Jazeera but I'll see if I can find anything else.

itwasnevermine · 19/10/2024 08:55

Has this been confirmed?

All of a sudden Israel are getting key Hamas players and he's being targeted, which just so happens to coincide with the US and UK beginning to change position on their support of Israel.

All of a sudden? You mean the 42,000 Palestinians killed by Israel prior to the death of Sinwar weren't really required in order to get at the leaders?

itwasnevermine · 19/10/2024 09:11

@Daftasabroom exactly what I mean.

As the US and UK have changed their position and begun publicly calling out Israel, this is all happening.

Lettherebejustice · 19/10/2024 09:14

Is there a thread about the north of Gaza? The atrocities happening there by Israel are almost difficult to comprehend despite the immense cruelty we have seen from them.

This is someone that they shot and injured and then when other people came to help they started attacking them too.

The north of Gaza is being annihilated right now, with massacre after massacre. One Israeli minister actually admitted yesterday that there is a siege on the north but it is 'legal'

I'm just so sickened by all the deaths and destruction. And frightened for what terrifying developments lie ahead.

Israel is clearly going to keep going and going. I wish Hamas would wave a white flag - for the sake of the innocent Palestinian people, children especially, who want none of this horror.

At this point, I don't think it would matter if Hamas did that or not. In the absence of external protection for Palestine and now Lebanon (and wherever becomes next on the list), the Israeli government's campaign to destroy Palestine will continue.

There will keep being a new objective, a new justification or excuse, until someone with sufficient backbone and morality puts a stop to it, or until a far-right, expansionist, aggressive government with objectives of occupation and annexation, ethnic cleansing, genocide and supremacy, gets what it wants.

And the Israelis were operating in Lebanon, shutting down tunnels etc for 200 days before they started the full ground invasion.

Very convenient timing, as has consistently been the case.

I fear this is looking increasingly likely by the day.

They may well get what they want now, but I hope the world will see them for what they are, and remember. Even if they kill every one of us, it will be hard to erase what happened from history, if we all document it.

Even with all the efforts to hide the crimes committed in the Nakba and subsequent occupations and oppressions, documents have survived and are being retrieved and preserved. In this age of information, it's going to be harder to hide what is being done.

Very true. I feel world leaders aren't reacting strongly enough, due to whatever political games they feel they need to play. However, the world can see what's happening and we won't forget.

We see them for what they truly are. History cannot only be written by the victors anymore. The technology that Israel has developed over the years is now used to record what is happening. There is justice in this, I feel.

Much of the world has had their eyes opened to what they are, and what they have been doing in plain sight for decades.

I am stunned, horrified and feel mentally battered daily by refusing to look away as their crimes continue. There will be long term consequences for Israel, and while I don't know in which shape, I take a little comfort from this. I also take comfort in the younger generations such as gen Z seeing straight through any propaganda and viewing this through a lense of utter disgust.

They will remember and still be documenting all this when many of us are long gone.

Sharing this here as well. The Govt said they would match up to £10million but it surpassed that in two days.
"The latest IPC report paints a devastating picture of the situation in Gaza. The persistent threat of famine and the staggeringly high levels of acute malnutrition are an alarming signal that time is running out for millions of people, especially as the cold sets in and spread of disease worsens.

“Since the beginning of the crisis, repeated airstrikes have devastated essential infrastructure, with bakeries, agricultural land, and markets being hit over 190 times, crippling Gaza's ability to produce and access food. The decimation of livelihoods, the destruction of food systems, and the collapse of essential services are pushing Gaza to the brink of catastrophe.

Not really sure what good these words can do, but thinking of everyone in Gaza who feels forgotten, especially those in the North.

Please try to keep going.

Despite prior coordination with Israeli authorities their clearly-marked vehicle was bombed

How. How can they justify this?!

I have no words.. history will judge those harshly, who remained neutral in the face of oppression or worse, sided with them.

Lettherebejustice · 20/10/2024 20:34

May the oppressive leaders never see a day of peace in their lives. May they not die until they face the pain of what they have inflicted on the innocent.

Scirocco · 20/10/2024 20:46

Leaked documents in the US show preparations by Israel to attack Iran directly, apparently.

Lettherebejustice · 20/10/2024 20:57

It is quite evident now that Israel's goal is to destroy Gaza. They won't be bothered in the least that they are condemned for it. A rogue pariah state with a rogue army that is known to attack and kill indiscriminately. A stain on our shared humanity.

In the interest of fairness this is, as yet, a completely unsubstantiated report.

I hope it isn't true.
