Today, Israel bombed a government building in Nabatieh, in Lebanon, during a meeting to coordinate aid for civilians in need. They killed the Mayor of Nabatieh in that bombing.

I had missed this . I mean I've said before if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck it's a duck and that is the Israel Govt with it's terrorist tactics to prevent aid and co ordination. Scumbags.

Auvergne63 · 16/10/2024 20:55

Absolutely disgusting.

The meeting was the target. Obviously Israel doesn't want people in Gaza or Lebanon to get aid. May they rest in peace. 😢🙏

What kind of people do you mix with. Since I had my daughter, I can´t watch news of child deaths, mistreatment and injuries. It makes me sick to my stomach. I don´t care who did what. People who hurt children are monsters, people who are blazé about hurting children are monsters.

Edit: this was an answer to a pp who was saying she felt people have been taught to think of muslims as the enemy and that their childrens deaths, although sad, were collateral to killing terrorists. Sorry, my connection glitched and I can´t see the user´s name.

I don't know if that was for me, but I have encountered those sorts of views regularly.

How? Well, I've done interfaith work, so I encounter some through that, but a lot of it is simply what ordinary people now feel comfortable to say out loud - to mums walkng their children to school, to healthcare professionals in A+E, to people in the pub, even to extended family members.

I think this might be in reply to me?

My family have expressed such views. They've been taken in by the years of media demonisation of Muslims and it's horrific. It's absolutely awful.

Lettherebejustice · 17/10/2024 11:36

How devastating, how much more are they expected to endure? I really do believe that no other ally would get away with such cruelty as Israel has been allowed to.

Auvergne63 · 17/10/2024 11:40

Gaza is an open air graveyard now. No dignity in life or death.
I believe that what we are witnessing is only the tip of the iceberg and more atrocities will come to light.

itwasnevermine · 17/10/2024 11:46

I hate to be that person but seeing Liam Payne getting more sympathy in 12 hours than people have had for Gaza is infuriating.

Yes posting pictures of his body is wrong but we're watching people be burnt alive and nobody even cares!!! It's just so anger inducing

Yes, I thought that too but people do care about Gaza. There's been global condemnation of the fact people burnt to death in their tents- not necessarily from those in power but from normal people all over the world.

Israel stops processing key commercial food imports to Gaza, sources say

I am watching an appeal for help on BBC on behalf of the Disasters Appeal Committee for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza yet the British Government continue to endorse export of arms to the IDF.

There is something very wrong in that.

He was a hezbollah member or it was a mistake and we are looking into it

If they do look into it, they will eventually completely exonerate themselves because, well, they always do….

I do think the timing around the killing of the leader of Hamas seems very suspicious.

They have been threatened by the USA with a reduction in aid, and more and more governments are criticising their actions. Then all of a sudden they've killed the Hamas leader?

Well if they believe they've killed the Hamas leader surely thars job done and they can get out of Gaza now! As if they have any intention of leaving ever!

anotherlevel · 18/10/2024 09:15

@MissyB1 Netanyahu has no intention of ending the war and he just wants peace 🙄

Israel bars 6 medical NGOs from entry to Gaza.

“Health-care workers are some of the only international observers that have witnessed acts that amount to war crimes in Gaza,” said Dorotea Gucciardo, director of development for Glia, an international humanitarian organization specializing in high-quality medical equipment and one of the organizations recently barred from entering the Strip.
“It is difficult for me to not believe that the decision to ban international health-care workers is a deliberate attempt to limit international observers in Gaza,” she added.

Not really surprised.

So despite Israel saying that the Hamas leader was constantly surrounded by civilians, he wasn't?

What's their excuse for bombing schools

Nor was he in a tunnel. Or a penthouse in Qatar.

Not sure where to put this, the thread about Hezbollah isn't showing up for me for some reason.

But Hezbollah have targeted Netanyahu's home using a drone. No casualties and him and his wife were not home at the time.

This is the reality of what Israel is doing (part 5)
GoForARun · 19/10/2024 08:29

I'm just so sickened by all the deaths and destruction. And frightened for what terrifying developments lie ahead.

Israel is clearly going to keep going and going. I wish Hamas would wave a white flag - for the sake of the innocent Palestinian people, children especially, who want none of this horror.

Has this been confirmed?

All of a sudden Israel are getting key Hamas players and he's being targeted, which just so happens to coincide with the US and UK beginning to change position on their support of Israel.
