It's control and intimidation. There is no military security risk to allow these children access to medical intervention outside Gaza. So they refuse because they can and want Gazans to know that.

They do it because they can and they want to. People enjoying the suffering of children - our children. This hurts every Palestinian who knows this could be their child relative, every person around the world with Palestinian children among their loved ones, and every person who knows that people mean it when they tell us: "Today it's them - soon it will be you."

Some Months back when I read something like this I was sceptical. Now I believe it.

Usernamesareboring1 · 16/11/2024 19:50

This is so barbaric 💔

Another massacre in Gaza by Israel today. At Abu Assi school in the Shatea refugee camp, west of Gaza City.

I haven't heard any numbers but the videos on twitter are absolutely appalling.

I'm so sick of seeing traumatised and mangled children and people smashed to bits by Israeli bombs. I won't post the footage but anyone deranged enough to continue to support these atrocities should have a look.

Israeli authorities have impounded a fire engine donated by Scottish firefighters to aid Palestinian firefighters. Yesterday, we went to the Israeli Assembly to deliver a letter demanding the fire engine is released. Firefighters must be able to protect and save lives.

Israel will probably say Scottish firefighters are members of Hamas 🙄

I’m not sure if this is behind a pay wall but today’s Washington Post has an account of the injuries upinflctrd on Lebanese children.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/11/19/children-killed-lebanon-israel-hezbollah/
It describes children burned alive and covered from head to foot with bandages, orphaned and surviving by scavenging in dumpsters, brain damaged while playing outside, rescue workers putting bits of bodies in bags and not being able to identify even pieces of a little girl who was blown to bits in her house.
This is not defence. This is aggression.
Another article, based on more than 20 interviews, discusses how the IDF is colluding with powerful criminal gangs, Hamas rivals, to disrupt the flow of aid.
So not only is the flow of aid restricted, profiteering occurring by traders on both sides of the border, Israel is encouraging looting and misappropriation of aid as well as targeting aid workers.

PeaceForPalestine · 19/11/2024 18:18

I keep waking up in the middle of the night, panicking, thinking about what Palestinian prisoners are going through 😩

Kindatired · 19/11/2024 19:11

The New York Times has photos and interviews with injured people who have been treated after leaving Gaza.
“Mama, scratch my hair, scratch my nose.” Says a 9 year old who has lost both arms above elbow.
A photographer who lost both legs says:“I reached the point where I was talking to the corpses.”
The pregnant cancer patient who was widowed before her child was born and woke up with an amputation- how low can you go? There is nothing between Hamas and the IDF
Children rendered paraplegic and orphaned in the same strike. Orphaned amputees. Multiple amputations . Children being thrown out the window of burning buildings.
It is not self defence and while it might not be the primary intention to kill and maim the consequences apologists the IDF’s actions are foreseeable and the IDF is choosing to continue.

Do you think with the Iraq war, Vietnam, Korean War, WW1 and WW2, conflicts in Kosovo, Darfur, Syria, Yeman, Afghanistan, and on and on and on, that children didn't get blown to pieces. War is awful and many innocents die. Why is it that only now people realise that and didn't realise that War is awful and too many die. It's odd that some act like this is the first time that innocent children are killed. Its awful.

Don't you think it's unusual for around 70% of the dead in a "war" to be women and children?

It's also unheard of for an entire health system to be destroyed, and aid to be denied.

You're defending the indefensible.

And there are those who have intentionally killed children ( young children). Many doctors who volunteered in Gaza independently stated that they saw children who had been sniped in the head or heart.

The Doctor Who Saw Children Shot in the Head in Gaza—and Tried to Tell the World
When the New York Times approached Sidhwa to write for its opinion section about what he saw in Gaza—widespread starvation, collapsed sanitary systems—he took it as an opportunity. He went beyond writing from his own experience and corroborated his account with 64 other doctors. In particular, he was haunted by something he saw again and again: children shot in the head.

“Nearly every day I was there, I saw a new young child who had been shot in the head or the chest, virtually all of whom went on to die,” he wrote. At first, he thought this was an anomaly, the work of “a particularly sadistic soldier located nearby.” But when he asked other health care workers, he found that dozens were seeing the same thing.

I think everyone knows that wars are terrible.

But Gaza isn't a normal war, hence the total horror of those watching what's happening.

Kindatired · 19/11/2024 22:58

@Toomanywars
Do you think that we shouldn’t care about the innocent victims of 7/10 because bad things happen in war? It is you that mentioned WW2- were the concentration camps ok because bad things happen war? Should people just turn a blind eye to the bad things that happen in war?
“According to some experts… what is happening in Gaza has the characteristics of a genocide,” Vatican News. Are we supposed to say “Ah well, these genocides do happen, it’s a war, what do you expect….”

Your makes it sound as IDF civilians in Darfur, Sudan, Afghanistan and the Iccupied Territories and Lebanon are just dispensable. The lives of the people disposable to protect the Israelis from something that might happen in the future. You’re also assuming that none of us have worked or lived in conflict zones or that we have no background knowledge or experience.

And the death and killing of non-combatants was condemned in those conflicts too.

The scale of death of civilians in Gaza and beyond is completely unnecessary from a tactical standpoint.

I don't know if this has been posted

ScrollingLeaves · 20/11/2024 12:36

Thank you, I had not seen that video clip.

The story of the Palestinian female doctor with new born twins who was targeted and killed with her babies by the IDF when her husband happened to be away getting their birth certificates, was written about in a thread here a few months ago.

A lot of medical workers have been IDF targets.

Notice the bored, indifferent faces in the background, not least that of Israel’s leader of its own moral demise, Netanyahu. Poor Israeli people to have him.

The man who was so bravely speaking out is called Ayman Odeh, I think.

They are doing to Lebanese children what they are doing to Gazan children. It is beyond evil.

I’ve run out of things to say, it’s horrific.

When will aid get to people in Northern Gaza? When will Israel turn the table on this cruelty? How supportive of this mass murder will Trump be? Is it only unborn children he cares about? And why are people so stupid.

It's only white/rich/non-Muslim children he cares about. When it's profitable for him to do so. His own family have previously discussed the real estate values of Gaza (for Israel, not for Palestine, of course).

I’m not sure he even cares about them, he only appears to care when it helps himself. It’s still difficult to accept that people would vote for someone who so clearly couldn’t give a rats backside about their wellbeing, and can’t be trusted to remotely stick to their word (policies). Perhaps it wasn’t obvious, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t actually care about unborn children.

He only cares that pretending to care might win him votes for more power...

This is an extensive report about Gaza by Forensic Architecture and includes mapping of changes.

Ethnic cleansing is unfolding in northern Gaza. We are witnessing an intensification and acceleration of military tactics previously used by the Israeli military throughout the Strip, this time aimed at enforcing large-scale displacement from the north. Analysis of Israeli ground operations reveals a new military corridor slicing through the fabric of northern Gaza from east to west, further isolating northern Gaza from the rest of the Strip. Meanwhile, hospitals in Jabalia are under attack once again, some for the third time, and aid remains obstructed, exacerbating an engineered famine
