For those that have friends and family in Israel just a quick message to hope all is OK at this worrying time.

There's always someone to come along with the Holocaust comparison. Just can't help yourself.

Yes. There's a genocide in Gaza.

Oh good lord. The Iranian's intent is entirely genocidal. Their targets ate thankfully quite well protected but they will still be terrified.

There isn't a genocide in Gaza.

There are over-inflated figures from a terrorist organisation.

The loss of life is a result of Hamas refusing every ceasefire offered to them.

risible.

For all those with friends and family and Israel...hope your safe

There's nothing remotely antisemitic about being upset for everyone suffering in a region.
It must be a genuinely terrifying area of the world to live in, or have loved ones in, right now.

I am so sad for those in Israel, 7/10 was beyond heartbreaking and it must be terrifying now.

But the whole region is going through a horrible period and innocent people are caught up in it everywhere. It's perfectly understandable and not antisemitic to wish for peace for the whole region

Exactly. Yes, there have been threads about Palestine and Gaza and people have come on to express sympathy for Israel (rightly so). I haven't seen any antisemitic posts on this thread yet.

Yep... certainly didn't take long

Leave the Holocaust references out. It’s absolutely disgusting.

needhelpwiththisplease · 01/10/2024 18:59

Thinking of everyone who has family and friends in Israel.

Agree.

It makes me sick to see the holocaust being referenced. They just can't help themselves though.

I completely agree with everything you say

But none of that is why I’ve said this board is a cesspit of antisemitism.

EasternStandard · 01/10/2024 19:05

It’s awful, listening now

drivinmecrazy · 01/10/2024 19:08

Well, I think Israel has played a blinder tonight.

They've goaded Iran into retaliatory action so they can now say that they can use all means at their disposal to defend themselves.

My Dad was involved in the defence business in the Middle East from 1980's through to the 2000's and had many dealings with multiple intelligence forces across the globe.
He always said that Israel was one nation you could never mess with. Their intelligence forces and military have always been considered the most vile outfit operating in that arena.

It's a shame they regard themselves as above other terrorist governments. They are no different.

The innocents are the Israeli people as much as Iranians, Lebanese and Palestinians.

AmICrazyToEvenBother · 01/10/2024 19:10

EachandEveryone · 01/10/2024 18:51

Omg its breaking news right now. Of course its about thinking of those in Israel as its under attack. Its not a competition.

I've pointed out the same thing about it being breaking news, yet no-one has acknowledged it at all, just continued with the the 'but why single out Israel?' posts!

You have to wonder about people's intelligence.

There isn’t a genocide in Gaza or Lebanon because Israel are targeting specific terrorist groups.

What Hamas and Hezbollah want is a genocide and the extermination of all Jews.

Neither side is right and all done in the name of a god. The same god. Gotta love religion 🙄

I agree with you. This board has had many anti Semitic posts reported and some quite rightly were removed.

TwilightSkies · 01/10/2024 19:14

No genocide? Tens of thousands of innocent men, women and children have been murdered. Schools, hospitals, refugee camps, ‘safe’ spaces……carpet bombed.

Fescue · 01/10/2024 19:16

Vivi0 · 01/10/2024 18:43

There has been thread after thread after thread about the civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.

OP starts one thread about Israeli civilians now that the conflict has escalated and Israel is under bombardment, and look at the comments. Look how angry everyone gets at any concern for Israeli civilians. It was the exact same after 7/10 too.

I don’t know why Mumsnet haven’t closed this board down. It is an absolute cesspit of antisemitism.

This thread is a reminder that every day someone somewhere wants to destroy Israel and exterminate Jews. Tens of millions, probably hundreds of millions of people across the globe quietly go along with this notion. Israel is up against it every day. For 70 years.

Today is another reminder of that.

Three posts in

Is that a record?Hmm

I'm thinking of all those in Israel at this moment

I'm not religious so no prayers but I hope everyone keeps safe

Wy are you singling out Isreal? Why not the people in Palestine and Lebanon too? I hope everyone is safe.

There are dozens of threads where posters can beat their breasts over that

This is about Israel (please note the spelling)

Horrific and absolutely unacceptable but not a genocide. Those people are not being targeted. They are not being protected by Hamas or Hezbollah either.

The pp is right, though

It's not a genocide
