For those that have friends and family in Israel just a quick message to hope all is OK at this worrying time.

Utterly terrifying that Iran has weighed in on this conflict. What are they trying to achieve - world war? Its just crazy. And frankly if it does escalate, I sincerely hope Israel prevail. Cannot imagine life as a woman under the Iranian regime.

Some lives matter much more than others eh.

It was inevitable that they would attack. Why wouldn't they? Israel knew this would happen.

My thoughts are with all who have family in the region. I wish that peace will return and innocent people can begin to go about their lives again.

It's awful on all sides.

Wy are you singling out Isreal? Why not the people in Palestine and Lebanon too? I hope everyone is safe.

Perhaps because it's breaking new that Iran have attacked Israel?

According to John Bolton on R4 an hour ago, Iran is behind all of this and has been for at least 40 years.
They are a vile antisemitic regime and they wish to destroy Israel.

This thread is about Israel. It's really quite easy to understand and not at all strange.

There has been thread after thread after thread about the civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.

OP starts one thread about Israeli civilians now that the conflict has escalated and Israel is under bombardment, and look at the comments. Look how angry everyone gets at any concern for Israeli civilians. It was the exact same after 7/10 too.

I don’t know why Mumsnet haven’t closed this board down. It is an absolute cesspit of antisemitism.

There are many many threads focusing on Gaza. This one is for Israel.

There's nothing remotely antisemitic about being upset for everyone suffering in a region.
It must be a genuinely terrifying area of the world to live in, or have loved ones in, right now.

I am so sad for those in Israel, 7/10 was beyond heartbreaking and it must be terrifying now.

But the whole region is going through a horrible period and innocent people are caught up in it everywhere. It's perfectly understandable and not antisemitic to wish for peace for the whole region

Go tell that to people whose blood lines have disappeared.

People are angry because it is calculated, it is singling out one group over all other innocent people in the region. There is no need for it. How angry and incensed would you be with any poster that started a thread singling out Lebanese and Palestinians when Israeli citizens were also under threat? And you would be right to.

Omg its breaking news right now. Of course its about thinking of those in Israel as its under attack. Its not a competition.

People have been saying on here since 7/10 that Hamas knew Israel would attack (why wouldn’t they) after 7/10.

It has been made very clear that it doesn’t matter whether Hamas knew Israel would attack, Israel should never have attacked at all because of the civilians living in Gaza.

People have been saying it is inevitable that Israel would attack Hezbollah following a year’s worth of rockets fired at them.

But, again. It has been made very clear that it doesn’t matter whether Hezbollah knew it was inevitable that Israel would attack, Israel should never have attacked at all because of the civilians living in Lebanon.

So surely you should all be decrying Iran for attacking Israel because of all the civilians living there.

But you won’t.

It's singling out a single group in exactly the same way as all the other threads have done.
The conflict has just escalated and Iran have attacked Israel on a massive scale. The whole country is under attack.

I'm sure you've jumped on all the threads where anyone expresses sympathy for people in Gaza and Lebanon to call them calculated and pathetic and petty and whatever other personal insults you can think up to describe someone who dares to do something as awful as hope that people are safe.
