Is the current rioting in the UK linked to Gaza?

Although the Southport killings were the trigger for rioting in the UK has the focused attention on Gaza including mass marches lead to a new sectarianism in the UK? I am not condoning mindless thuggery in any way but do we now have a situation where mainly Muslim Gaza supporters "squaring off' with EDL/extreme reform types.

How do you balance the right to expression and to assemble with what is becoming a challenging police operarion?

Same for the UK, US, China, Russia, Saudi, Iran and Qatar, unless your googling is confined to a strangely obsessive focus on Israel.

This struck me as well. An obsession with Israel and 'some' Jews who support EDL.

Israel has more than enough on its plate currently to be interfering in what takes place here. Russia has been interfering for years and now ramped up the pace.

I agree with you all nations do it. All nations and govements will spread disinformation to their benefit. I am not " obsessed" with Israel. Just stating its a possibility also.

You need to take it up with the op who started this thread in the first place and has form for trying to link everything negative that happens in the UK with Gaza and pro Palestinian supporters

There are at least two posters on this thread (not you!) who focus solely on Israeli actions but completely omit the actions of other nations. Noticeably Iran is always left off the list while America, UK, Russia and China are among those usually accused of 'meddling' and 'disinformation'.

This was the riot in Birmingham not by right wing people. These were Muslims. That's why they were waving Palestinian flags.

I think the issue is it is being used to spread jew, Muslim and black hate. Basically if you're not white British and male you are hated by these thugs. And I would suggest it is the extreme left and extreme right spreading the hate and unrest. This thread is just adding to this rhetoric so why don't we stop posting on it which is adding to this division.

The IDF is fighting Hamas, a terrorist organisation. Israel has many Muslim, Druze and Christians among its population. It doesn't have a 'Muslim problem: to my knowledge although, like many other countries including the UK, there are individuals who do have a problem. It is a probable reason for the current far right/EDL sponsored riots currently taking place here.

Just watched BBC news. A group of 'counter protesters' turned up at a protest waving Palestinian flags. Why? How is that helpful. I think the thugs on both the protests and people inciting on counter protests are both wrong.

Elon Must is saying 'civil war is inevitable in the UK' further raising the heat. He holds the belief that some people are treated differently. Eg going to a protest waving a Palestinian flag where some are clearly worried about immigration doesn't help.
