I see the old thread is sadly almost full. I wonder how many of these I will start? 😢

Thanks for your concern for the children who were blown up in this attack.

So what are you saying? It's CGI? This didn't happen? Or what?

And have we forgotten those murdered on Oct 7th? Am sure everyone is concerned with children who are blown up in attacks, except HAMAS and HEZBOLLA. Don't let either terrorist organization get the best of Israel or we will all be gone.

I'm sure the many threads and discussions across the site are evidence that the atrocities of October 7th have not been forgotten by the people posting on this site.

This thread is about the actions of the Israeli government, military and extreme groups which are causing serious harm to other innocent people.

And quite possibly profound harm to Israel too.
from Haaretz:
"The foundation of Bibi-ism is that occupation and annexation can continue undisturbed, that millions of Palestinians will miraculously capitulate and agree to live as humiliated subjects without rights under a military-settler dictatorship and that the world will make its peace with Israel's apartheid regime in the West Bank and with the tens of thousands killed in Gaza. This is a messianic delusion, detached from reality and from Zionism and a perfect recipe for the fall of the State of Israel" – Nir Hasson

Wouldn't bother just another derail attempt. They have quoted a post from a month ago. Obviously trawled through the thread to find something to use.

I'm sure people will rush to distance themselves from him saying the quiet bit out loud.

Dulra · 08/08/2024 12:08

Any other democratic nation he'd be instantly fired for a disgusting comment like that. The fact he isn't just demonstrates that his party agree with him.

anotherlevel · 08/08/2024 12:18

It's more than concerning that they think this is absolutely ok and to say it out loud. I'm glad it's being condemned but this sort of torture needs to stop.

And the government. The Israeli government is not only one party but a coalition. If a minister says things like that and not kicked out is because the government agrees with them

A US citizen told AFP he was shot by Israeli forces and wounded in the leg during a protest Friday against settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank,

The military told AFP that troops "used riot dispersal means and fired live rounds in the air to disperse" a "gathering" in the Beita area.

"Shortly after, a report was received regarding a foreign national who was accidentally injured by the riot dispersal means and was evacuated to the hospital," the military statement said.

The thing is though that this explanation does not quite make sense in that the foreigner had already been dispersed when he was shot: he was in the act of running away.

Maybe the policy is just to shoot live amunition in the hope of shooting Palestinians with the excuse you are dispersing a rioting crowd.

Also, was this a “riot” or was it a protest? I don’t know, but am asking if anyone else knows.

This was added by the editor on sky. Even MSM are no longer buying it.

They say they took steps to mitigate civilian harm including aerial surveillance and intelligence gathered before the strike.
If so those steps appear to have failed. The footage from inside the building is horrendous, a scene of carnage with dozens of bodies and body parts.
We have counted 20 bodies from the pictures, Palestinians say as many as a 100 died.

Awful awful scenes

@mistaclim (Israeli NGO)

The images coming out of Gaza remind us of the historical sights that Israel asks the world not to forget. Under the false pretense of consideration, Israel diverts millions of people from one place to another.
There are 93,000 wounded in Gaza. About 20 thousand children without a family. Avi Dichter called it Nakba.
This morning, more than 100 IDPs were massacred in the bombing of the Al-Tabi'in school in Gaza.
When the citizens of the enlightened world see these pictures they are outraged, not because they are anti-Semitic.

ConnieCounter · 10/08/2024 11:55

The videos and photos I've seen are too horrific for words. The people who did this are barbarians.

God help all those poor people. It's unimaginable.

AhNowTed · 10/08/2024 11:04

They are.

As for the excuse that the school was a Hamas “Command and Control Centre” how likely is it?

Given the IDF particularly target schools, hospitals, mosques and refugee camps or anywhere the displaced Palestinian civilians are likely to be trying to find shelter, aren’t Hamas clever enough to know by now that those are precisely the places to stay away from?

PeasfullPerson · 10/08/2024 12:20

I don’t want to look at any of the photos today, what a privilege that I can choose to look away. It’s not because I don’t care, it’s because I’ve seen enough already to know that this is completely wrong and inexcusable.

God help those who can’t look away, those who are surrounded by destruction and death, that they can feel in their bodies, and sense in the air around them. Help those who are forced to try and live like this.

And what about the hostages? I don’t hear much concern for them anymore from the Israeli leaders, only when it can be used as propaganda to justify their attacks or they are attempting to placate the families.

re: “ what about the hostages”
I think Netanyahu and his like have effectively dismissed them, or they would not keep blocking the hostage release and ceasefire deal.

Excerpt from The Times of Israel about the perilous state of the hostages.

Some of the hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza are presumed to be in serious condition and incapable of surviving much longer in captivity, a senior security official told Channel 12 Friday, as pressure increases on the government to accept a ceasefire-for-hostages deal with the terror group.

“We know that some of the hostages will not survive much longer in the conditions in which they are being held, and in light of their physical and mental health,” the senior official told the news station in a report aired Friday.

The source stressed that this was not an assessment or a guess, but a matter on which Israel had clear information.

Parkingt111 · 10/08/2024 12:51

Israel has bombed more than a dozen schools housing displaced civilians since July last month. Just think about that, just in the last one and a half months.
I can't understand how they are getting away with it, do Palestinian children not matter?

Parkingt111 · 10/08/2024 13:00

The brutal attacks that are indiscriminately killing civilians have become so frequent, that it's almost as if the world has become desensitised to it.

This also from sky sums it up:
But it is fair to say that in the past the apparent loss of so many civilians in a military attack in Gaza would be met with soul searching in the Israeli media.
They now happen with such regularity we just move from one to the other. The death toll is approaching 40,000 Palestinian lives in this appalling conflict.

I'm sickened by the lack of comment on this from our government and others in the West.

Absolutely grotesque.

David Lammy said he was 'appalled' but that's about it as far as I can see from our government.
Pretty much an understatement considering it was nothing short of a massacre on displaced civilians.
