Don't you include Francesca Albanese? The one who has not shown her own qualifications on law when questioned by another Italian expert? 🤷‍♂️

I think you'll find I've used a range of experts on warfare and international law in addition to the IHL texts themselves alongside my existing knowledge of terrorist organisations and operations against them. 👍

Good for you. Well done. As I said before, time will tell. When the slaughter is over, the full facts (hopefully) will come out, including why the Israeli government was slow to respond on 07/10 ( Netanyahu "promised" a full investigation), why the warnings of the imminent attack were ignored and much more.
Without a doubt, Hamas is responsible for the horrors of 07/10 but the Israeli government owes an explanation to the hostages and their families.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 09/06/2024 10:25

So where is this hostage holding journalist now?

Killed along with his family according to reports.

noblegiraffe · 09/06/2024 10:26

A Hamas terrorist has been working as a journalist for Al Jazeera? And they've been publishing his propaganda?

Has anyone looked at his output?

But is this true, or is it hasbara?

noblegiraffe · 09/06/2024 10:27

Have Al Jazeera issued a statement?

LordPercyPercy · 09/06/2024 10:27

I just saw some screenshots of the "journalist's" twitter feed. He was VERY happy about 7 October.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 09/06/2024 10:28

But is this true, or is it hasbara?

I don't know ...

Are you suggesting incompetence or a conspiracy?

A handy excuse…

LordPercyPercy · 09/06/2024 10:30

Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv were seemingly being held in the home of a doctor and his family.

Auvergne63 · 09/06/2024 10:30

If only, the Israeli government had allowed international press in Gaza, as it has been the case for other conflicts... If only.

It feels like you're blaming Israel for Al Jazeera's hiring of an alleged terrorist?

I'm confused. Will you please explain further?

It's interesting you now say "time will tell. When the slaughter is over, the full facts (hopefully) will come out"!

Yet you're one of a sizeable group of posters who kept declaring "genocide!" and "war crimes!" before anything was established.

Often running with figures from Hamas' Health Ministry.

Practice what you preach first. 🤷‍♂️

And, yes, UN Special Rapporteur Francesa Albanese used the title "lawyer" for herself on her UN application form yet later admitted she's not even registered to the Italian Bar!

Isn't it the case her husband, Massimiliano Calì, had worked for the Ministry of Economy of the Palestinian Authority?

UN Special Rapporteurs are meant to be impartial at all times.

As I said before, a well respected Italian journalist dug into her background. 👍

As for the warnings of an imminent attack pre-October 2023 being ignored, I provided a lot of information on the abilities AND limits of intelligence agencies in the wake of 7th October 2023.

People widely misunderstand the nature of intelligence agencies and what they can/can't do.

It wasn't a simple case of Israeli agencies ignoring certain things, but a range of variable factors.

The timing of 7th Oct was also a significant factor during an Israeli religious holiday, if memory serves me right.

I am not suggesting anything. These are only the facts, easily verified if you took the time to look for them.

New York Times investigation reports Israel knew about Hamas' October 7 attack plan

A Hamas document examined by The Times detailed an attack similar to the one on October 7. According to the newspaper, Israeli intelligence officials ignored analysts' warnings and deemed the scenario aspirational.

I'm aware of the facts.

I'm more interested in what you were insinuating above.

I feel sadness that he involved his family and they were killed. However, he was clearly hamas.

I think you know exactly what I’m referring to.

I just saw some screenshots of the "journalist's" twitter feed. He was VERY happy about 7 October.

Is that the same one who posted joy at 7th October and then removed his posts when the war started? Then went to being an innocent journalist. His crimes caught up with him.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 09/06/2024 10:42

I think you know exactly what I’m referring to.

Nope. And I'm now confused about why you will not explain this.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 09/06/2024 10:43

I'm still trying to find proper verified reports about anything ...

I admire the mental gymnastic you had to do in order to infer that it is what I meant! It is a legitimate question to ask why the international press is not allowed to witness and report what is happening in Gaza. Jeremy Bowen asked the same. In 35 years of reporting from the front line, he stated that it was the first time that no journalists were allowed in a war zone. Why?
