I mean Israel has killed people who tried to access aid so it's not as though the IDF is above this level of savagery.

Did you see what Otzma Yehudit sanction for "traitors?". ETA: the state of Israel are backing them, and their soldiers standing by whilst they terrorize Palestinians.

We all know what Hamas are capable of. This does not surprise me and it is despicable.
What the Israeli government has been, deliberately and relentlessly, doing for 9 months to the Palestinians is equally despicable.
The Palestinians have the right to a state. I am glad that more and more countries are recognizing this.

UN officials say the vehicles are systematically attacked and stopped by armed gangs, particularly those smuggling cigarettes, which are sold on the black market in Gaza for exorbitant amounts. Lorries bringing fuel into Gaza have also recently been targeted.

As Israel’s military offensive has removed Gaza’s Hamas government, there is no plan for how to fill the power vacuum. There are few police officers left working in the Palestinian territory. It is not clear if organised crime cartels are affiliated to Hamas or Gazan clans.

^This was taken from the link that I shared upthread. This party make it their business to terrorize Palestinians in the WB, set fire to their land, stage 'terrorist attacks' by Palestinians, and imprison Israeli 'traitors' who try to report/document their doings. The IDF stand back and watch them abusing Palestinians, so this is state sponsored terrorism. A pp had said Palestinians shouldn't have a state because of Hamas, so do they think the same about Israel?

@ScrollingLeaves law and order have pretty much completely broken down, leaving a vacuum for gangs to fight over scraps of power and where people are desperately struggling to keep their loved ones alive. This should have been preventable, but people didn't care enough about ordinary civilians in Gaza to actually put in place contingency plans and a strategy to mitigate this.

In November, members of the women-only “spotters” unit deployed at two points along the Gaza perimeter said they had tried to warn their superiors on numerous occasions about unusual activity along the border fence before Hamas’s attack, but had been ignored. Fifteen spotters were killed on 7 October and another six taken hostage

The six IDF spotters taken hostage were the young women shown in the Hamas camcorder video of them being captured. They are particularly vulnerable.

The lack of an effective policing force is contributing significantly to food distribution problems. There’s apparently a lot of anger against Hamas at the moment. The guys that were getting beaten up looked young and fit-so it’s likely that this is a cynical show of strength to shore up support for its operations.Anyone remember “kangaroo courts”?

How does your post relate to a thread that is highlighting how the IDF, which has such technological excellence and intelligence, is prepared to accept such a high level of civilian death and injury to achieve effectively nothing significant ?

@anotherlevel I’m so glad that finally the Hannibal directive is being reported in the UK. It has been hushed for so long. I wonder what number of Israelis were actually, tragically, killed by ‘friendly fire’.

For the avoidance of doubt - I am not trying to suggest that Hamas didn’t commit many awful atrocities and heinous war crimes on October 7th, the evidence is clear that they did.

I imagine knowing what hamas might do to army members it used at army facilities. I cannot imagine how awful this instruction is with army personnel.
