I know there are lots of pictures. I try to avoid looking as its just so awful but this one couldn't be avoided.

How sickening that the soldiers can smile and act so happy in front of all that destruction.

This is just another picture, from the thousands, that shows how the Palestinians and their lives and homes are seen as worthless.

People here can't fathom that most posters have sympathy for the innocent civilians murdered, injured or taken hostage on both sides.

Its beyond their narrative. But it says everything about them.

I agree @ssd It’s as if people have to be shoe horned into supporting a side, and couldn’t possibly care about humanity in general. It’s not a mutually exclusive situation, it’s possible to care about Palestinian and Jewish lives.

You need to check the meaning of "atrocities" before launching into such hyperbolic rhetoric.
They include murder, torture, sexual violence, enslavement, persecution, hostage taking & enforced disappearance.
Hamas are guilty of all of these, Israel is not.

On 26/2/24 Israel submitted a report to the ICJ, as requested, concerning it's compliance with the Provisional Orders of the above Court and no further action has been taken.

Actually, @OneMerryRedSnail I can think off the top of my head of examples of 6 of the 7 things you've mentioned there, that have happened to people in Palestine by Israeli forces and settlers.

What you and I think is irrelevant.

It's how the ICJ rules that matters.

After decades of indifference from most of the world, I'm well aware that my thoughts and experiences and the thoughts and experiences of innocent people in Palestine are taken as irrelevant by most of the world. Maybe we get justice when we die. We certainly can't expect it in this life any more.

Israel does most if not all of those things. Do you watch the news ever?

You seemed to post it as a sort of 'gotcha' moment that would highlight hypocrisy but can you see now that myself and others are absolutely disgusted by it, just as we are disgusted by the IDF selfie picture the thread was about?

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Quite frankly, I lost interest when people started to assume they could read my mind and then made judgements based what they thought I was thinking!

I really don't have time or the inclination to unravel the convoluted logic that keeps appearing on some of these threads.

Your post was provocative in that it was designed to shine a light on double standards or hypocrisy. It's very silly to suggest otherwise when your words were based on what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Instead of the double standards or hypocrisy you clearly expected, people showed sympathy and empathy for the Israeli victims, just as they did for Palestinian victims.

Hopefully it has made you realise that many people's motivation for posting isn't anti semitism, it's sympathy and empathy for all victims. Whatever their nationality, ethnicity or religion.

Then I would denounce it, loud and clear. I would not try to defend it because you cannot defend that type of behaviour. Full stop.

To counter some of the rubbish pictures we have seen, here is one of resilience. Amongst the rubble of a bombed mosque in Gaza, some of the Palestinians led their first evening prayer on the first eve of Ramadhan.
