I know there are lots of pictures. I try to avoid looking as its just so awful but this one couldn't be avoided.

How sickening that the soldiers can smile and act so happy in front of all that destruction.

This is just another picture, from the thousands, that shows how the Palestinians and their lives and homes are seen as worthless.

This is really distasteful. It reads like you think what Israel is doing is appalling but you think they should be allowed to do it because other countries do appalling things too. We should be striving for everywhere to do better. Not sinking to the lowest common denominator. Feel free to object if this isn't what you mean of course.

I'm saying I would prefer the UK government and arms industry weren't directly contributing to the killing of my friends and the destruction of a society that my friends and I shed blood, sweat and tears to try to protect.

I'm also saying that it says a lot about individuals and the culture in their organisation if they think that's the time and place for posing for selfies.

Do you not think it says more about young adults today in general? Unless you of course think taking selfies at highly inappropriate times and places is unique to Israelis.

We know Israel are not happy with UNWRA and do not want them in Gaza, but they have completely failed to come up with an alternative and now we have children and babies dying from starvation, children having limbs amputated without anaesthetics. I could not care less who provides aid just that it is provided. There is currently an independent investigation into UNWRA and their alleged links to Hamas, nations listened to Israeli concerned and suspended aid, some thankfully have reinstated it because they are frustrated with the lack of evidence. Why are going over this ground again? I don't think anyone on here disagree that humanitarian aid is a must.

I was only responding to a poster who seemed to think there was no link between UNRWA and Hamas. I pointed out there is and that it goes back at least 20 years. They agreed for proof and I've provided it. That's all.

I want Palestinians to receive however much aid they need. I've always been against the restrictions in aid to civilians. I mean, ideally I'd prefer for them not to need aid in the first place but that's obviously not the case.

It says a lot about the individuals doing it. And I'm sure there are people of other nationalities who would do and do do similar, and I think that's pretty shitty behaviour on their part too.

It says a lot about the culture in which they're working that they consider that to be acceptable or at least not intolerable behaviour to carry out while wearing their organisation's uniform. When I and others put on the uniform of our employers, we are expected to conduct ourselves in a manner consistent with those organisations' stated values. The people posing for selfies against that backdrop are doing so as representatives of their organisation. What does it suggest about the values of that organisation that this is something they thought would be ok?

I may not be in the 18-25 age bracket any more, but of the people I know in that age bracket, I honestly can't envisage any of them doing this. This isn't a 'youth of today don't know any better' thing. And if it were, then I'd suggest we have a responsibility to rectify that because this cannot be allowed to become acceptable behaviour.

It's still gross. A good few years ago I saw people taking selfies at Auschwitz and I was disgusted at them. Same vibe with this in that people have died there so it's always disrespectful to take zany photos on/of where they died (or in the case of Gaza, still lie).

And the fact that the idiots taking the selfie are part of the organisation that committed the genocide obviously makes it worse.

There's lots of examples of them rifling through, laughing at or wearing the underwear of Gazan women they've displaced or killed.
