Well I guess you have answered my question.

I did not answer your question.

Not sure your point here

Just because someone calls out the protests for what they are, doesn't mean they support the Israeli government. It is people that presume such things that are an issue. I mean Giraffe I presume you think is Jewish as well because she is arguing against antisemitism etc. These kind of presumption is something you need to reflect on and address in your views of others and what we post about. If shows who you are not who we are.

Firstly, you presume a lot of things about me ( which are untrue) while telling me not to presume anything. The irony!
Secondly, I find your tone condescending and patronizing. What gives you the right to tell me what I need to reflect on? Don't you feel dizzy, being on such a moral high ground?

I wish you didn't think yourself a psychic @floodlightonwhatisright No, I didn't know. But the river to sea means the whole area of Israel and the OpT. I did not understand why calling for Palestinians to be free in the region is offensive. However, I hear the reasons of@noblegiraffe which do make sense, possibly you agree with her.

The river to the sea part calls for Israel to be destroyed.
This is what it means to Jewish people and the marchers know it.

OK@floodlightonwhatisright I guess the river to the sea has negative connotations in itself, and can never be regarded as a geographical description because of its associations. Thank you for clarifying. I am not completely comfortable with slogans anyway, as they are quite single minded and I struggle to see anything in black and white terms.

You are certainly one of the most reasonable posters on these boards. I salute you.

No I am Truly Wonderful so I pretty much post like this all the time, have done for years

You need to reflect on why you chose to ask Giraffe that question. It is very telling that from a conversation about the protests she was posting about you decided to hit her with that question. It literally had nothing to do with the use of the chant unless you assumed she was Jewish/Israeli/supporting the Israeli government (delete as appropriate). Most people would not have jumped to where you did. Therefore you need to start reflecting on why you think like this. I can say what I see from your posting behaviour but I think it is better for people to learn these things about themselves then their is room for growth.

Was that patronising enough or do you want me to continue 🤔

Irony upon irony, which you cannot or do not want to see.
Anyway, I will not engage with you anymore because assuming makes an ass of you and me.

Whether they do or not, they are not out in the streets of the UK in their thousands, thousands of miles from the conflict, screaming it to intimidate and upset Muslim people.

Edited

No, the Likud people are currently killing thousands of Gazan children.

noblegiraffe · 28/12/2023 18:06

Truly it was asked as a segue to 'how awful are Israel?'

Anything to turn the conversation to the favoured topic over a tricky one like 'why are bellends booing people coming out of McDonalds?'

Are we expecting them to march at some point in the UK after the conflict

If so we definitely have a few things to say about that march

A segue suggests it was a seamless move or question

I disagree it was a jump and a assumption of your ethnicity and/or political beliefs regarding Israel

Keeps happening to you that doesn't it. However it is not a you problem it is a them problem.

I just don't have tolerance for these assumptions because people are calling out verbal or physical violence or incitement. It suggests a line of thinking that is very obvious.

noblegiraffe · 28/12/2023 18:52

Oh it's never seamless. Yet here we are at killing Gazan children again.

stomachamaleon · 28/12/2023 18:54

What have I missed?

stomachamaleon · 28/12/2023 18:54

Giraffe is Jewish or Israeli again apparently

So glad I'll sleep easy tonight now that Steady Ed has set the record straight and actually we have nothing to fear because only a minority want to beat us up! Yay!

Honestly can't get over how casually that was slipped in.

Out of interest and balance, has there actually been any documented and reported cases of physical attacks on Jewish people in the uk ? Has anyone actually been found guilty ?

noblegiraffe · 28/12/2023 19:02

"Out of interest and balance"

Hmm

Limeandsodaontherocks · 26/12/2023 12:01

🙄FFS I’m not dictating anything. I support the right to March .
I said that I would PREFER if the marches were for the victims on both sides. If the marches were asking for the release of hostages AND a ceasefire I would join the March.

But you can do that yourself, anyone can. That’s the benefit of living in a free country. You and anyone else that wants to, can march for a release of the hostages. Anyone who feels strongly enough can do so.

Scirocco · 28/12/2023 19:05

@Livinginanotherworld yes, there has been an increase in Antisemitic and Islamophobic violent attacks.

Trulywonderful · 28/12/2023 19:07

CST website or twitter should give you some statistics but for example the police are currently looking for someone that beat up a Jewish guy at a bus stop in London the week before Christmas

Scirocco · 28/12/2023 19:09

There's also an increase in intimidating behaviour, verbal aggression, etc against both Muslims and Jews.

😂Please.

Scirocco · 28/12/2023 19:18

That's absolutely disgraceful @Trulywonderful - I think I read the police had arrested someone in connection, but it's so scary to have it happen to you and your loved ones, and once the idea gets out, it's hard to stop other horrible people playing copycat.
