Hamas planned attacks on Jewish people in Europe

Have seen in the news - I suspect it’s the tip of the iceberg and absolutely terrifying for Jewish people everywhere. Hamas need to be stopped, hopefully this helps to reinforce that they are a terrorist group and not some romantic notion about being ‘freedom fighters’

I wonder who really thinks like the now deleted poster - I wonder if that person shares their venomous views in real life or hides behind a keyboard. I sincerely hope I don’t know or meet them

I'm Jewish and i have never been to Israel. i think Netanyahu is deranged.

But as always all Jews are apparently responsible for Israel. Like all British are responsible for Brexit. or all Chinese are responsible for Covid.

Only the fucking thick and stupid and racist and anti semitic believe this. But they walk among us and shout the loudest.

I think it's one step further with Brexit.

Saying all British are responsible for Brexit is comparable to all Israelis are responsible for the Israeli government's actions.

Saying all Jews are responsible for Israeli government's actions is more akin to all English speakers being responsible for Brexit.

Even stupider.

And I say this as someone who is very much in the ceasefire & Israeli government is committing a genocide 'camp'.

Reluctant as I am to see this thread derailed any further.... what do you mean by "hiding behind a regular poster"?

Totallymessed · 15/12/2023 16:59

Toothyfruity · 15/12/2023 16:16

Damned if we sympathise with what's happened and damned if we don't.

I'm out.

How strange that you find it impossible to be on a thread about terrorist threats to Jews in Europe. Normally you're very happy to spend hour after hour blaming Israel for anything and everything that happens. I guess Hamas planning terrorist attacks in Europe is difficult to frame as them just being victims, brave freedom fighters and, of course, the classic "anti-zionist not anti-semitic!".

No doubt you'll be back shortly.

I'm a Jew who doesn't have a right to vote in Israel. Why should I be murdered? Please explain what you mean. Unless you were just trying to be clever? Because if so, let's face it, you failed spectacularly at that.

As clever as the comments are that say 'Palestinians voted Hamas in so what did they expect would happen'. Do you know how harrowing it is reading comments like that from the average person? They WERE voted in. Before most living (and now dead) Palestinians were even born. So by that logic, considering all Jews have a right to Israeli citizenship, they're responsible for that governments actions and must reap what they sow. See how that doesn't make sense?

Unlike all the 'non-racist' Pro-Israel posters on this website, I actually DON'T believe all Jews are responsible and should in any way be hurt. To even think that an innocent person is killed because of the actions of others is mortifying. Which is why it pisses me right off when I see such blatant hypocrisy in the care/ lack of care of people with different skin tones, different faiths and different ethnicities. So while it's scary and sad that Jews around the world feel threatened, my full sympathy is for the Palestinians who are ACTUALLY being murdered while the world watches. But go ahead, be scared in your warm homes and safe countries, surrounded by all your living loved ones. And have no regard for the Palestinians who have no homes and are living in the cold in leaking fragile tents with no food, no water, no medication, no limbs, no family and no hope.

If I didn't know better I might have thought that no Jews were actually murdered. At least that's how your post makes it look.

Do you know the only reason there aren't more dead Jews? The iron dome, bomb shelters and the IDF. It's not from lack of trying, it's from lack of success.

@Humdingerydoo Here's one from this year that includes toddlers Israeli forces use five Palestinian children as human shields | Defense for Children Palestine (dci-palestine.org) Google it. You'll find more.

The relevance to it to the topic at hand is that several posters brought it up. Have you even read the thread?

Of course terrorism is a bad thing. I forgot that when dealing with people like you I had to say that at the start of every single post. In most places it goes without saying that I think terrorism is bad.

Sorry, but this is a completely different meaning for "human shield."

Five children were used to ensure IDF safety in a conflict situation.

Versus thousands of children being offered up as bomb targets by Hamas, who know IDF will be reluctant to bomb civilian targets. Why else would they adopt this approach? Think.

And yes, they have recently been left with no alternative, but comparing the metric tonnage of explosives dropped versus actual civilian deaths shows that Israel is actually doing its best to minimise these, although the constant imagery from Insta/TikTok plays into Hamas's propaganda that this is not the case. Having everyone scream "genocide!" is their cunning plan, and it's working.

Edited to add: Only just joined this thread and haven't RTFT yet, but just to say that everyone putting the boot into Israel for defending itself seems to have no idea of the scale of the threat. A global Islamic state is Hamas's goal, well go figure what that involves. Enjoy it when it's on your doorstep. I'm sure they will respectfully shake your hand for all those peaceful marches you participated in, and not at all rape, torture, mutilate and burn alive you and your children!

Noicant · 15/12/2023 18:13

If you are targeting Jewish people in Europe then it’s an anti-semitic attack, you are planning, it can be nothing other than that. What would be the point if you are just a nationalistic movement and not a religiously motivated one.

Of course there may not be a significant threat…. I mean except to Jewish people who may be a tad concerned that some randoms are out to kill them.

stormy4319trevor · 15/12/2023 18:24

It is very worrying and protection needs to be stepped up for anyone who might be targeted as a result of the awful situation in the middle east. I think there's been a little boy killed and adults violently attacked as Palestinians in the US as well. It's definitely a time to do all we can to prevent attacks against Jewish and Palestinian people worldwide. It also highlights the urgent need to capture dangerous extremists and to negotiate peace.

Yes, that Palestinian little boy in the US, his poor mum and the three young men are often in my thoughts. The world is a fucked up place

stormy4319trevor · 15/12/2023 18:33

@Humdingerydoo It's hard to deal with it all, isn't it? I've cried about the whole situation, but I have had to switch off a bit and just keep hoping/praying for peace, the return of the hostages and an end to the suffering.

Pizdietz · 15/12/2023 18:51

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 15/12/2023 14:44

Honestly. Can't you see? If people are butchered in the numbers that have happened in Gaza, with such cruelty, and continuing, I think it is inevitable that it would lead to terrorism abroad. I don't like it and I condemn it but I was on here predicting it a month ago. How obvious does it have to be?

OK... so if large-scale butchering of entire populations is what triggers terrorism, how do you explain what happened on 7 October?

Mammillaria · 15/12/2023 18:53

MissConductUS · 15/12/2023 14:16

I can't imagine where you got that figure from. The entire population of the world is only 8.1 billion people. There are about 1.8 billion that practice Islam.

https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2017/08/09/muslims-and-islam-key-findings-in-the-u-s-and-around-the-world/

I was lazy and c&p from Google. Oops. I will reword my question to the poster who said that 'they' are terrorising the world:

By "they" do you mean Hamas? Or the 1.8 billion people who practice Islam?

I think the point stands regardless of the number.

And, FYI, I 100% consider Hamas to be a terrorist group. The answer does not lie in antisemitism OR Islamophobia.

What are you actually on about?

Anotherdayanotherdiet · 15/12/2023 19:14

They don't have the foggiest idea about geographic points in the Middle East. They are the equivalent of Amanda from Motherland. Nothing beyond the ears but hey, IDF this, that and tother
🙄🥱

Not seeing the point of this comment tbh. It doesn’t actually address any of the points in the post it’s replying to.

I didn’t think the post my previous comment was replying to made any points tbh. It was just a bog standard “pro Palestinians are all thick and ganging up on us” whinge.

This old chestnut? The idea that Gazans are somehow "browner" than Israelis and therefore the underdog? Bizarre.

I genuinely don’t care how many times you try and label me as antisemitic. The amount of times some MN posters have weaponised this word to try and stifle legitimate criticism or a viewpoint they don’t agree with is sad. Perhaps try something different and engage in debate rather than gaslighting and insults. Otherwise perhaps don’t bother spending your time on a discussion forum?
