Good of you to pop onto the thread to tell us

It's called freedom of speech.

Where sells Jewish Christmas cards?

The level of ignorance regarding the Jewish faith is staggering. Jews do not celebrate Christmas because they do not believe Jesus as being of divine origine.

Israeli owned restaurants, mainly in London are really struggling. If you can try one of those, there are quite a few and they’re fabulous. Honey & co is one but there are lots. I am assuming that those of you boycotting anything Israel aren’t using Waze to get around and certainly aren’t using any of your ottolenghi recipes?

Which begs the question why you clicked on this thread. Mind you, we shouldn't complain because you're helping to bump it. Well done.

I have as much right as you to post on any thread. I really don't mind bumping the thread, why should I? Unlike you, I am happy to accept someone else's point of view. It is called being tolerant.

I have never used Waze and what are ottolenghi recipes?

It's called freedom of speech.

Fine, but would you be posting on a thread in the Black Mumnetters board to tell them that you would not be supporting a cause dear to them?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 24/11/2023 19:07

Intriguing to see not a single "boycott Palestinian products" or similar on the other thread, and yet already this one's being infested by the reverse

An indication of the contrast in mindsets perhaps?

I had noticed that, it's rather telling isn't it.

If they were truly boycotting Israel they wouldn't be posting on this thread. Virtually every mobile phone contains technology or code developed in Israel.

So very sad isn't it?

It's called freedom of speech.

I’m in the free speech union and I can clearly see the bad faith of your intention.

Free speech is valuable to help society distinguish the good from the bad in the ideas that shape it. This is not a discussion or debate thread, where alternative viewpoints have validity There was nothing constructive or good faith about your post.

Please don’t abuse the solid principles of the importance of free speech in this way.

I know this isn't the Jewish Mumsnetters board, but my t still applies. Why do you feel the need to rain on someone?

Voltaire said " I don't agree with what you say but I will fight to the death for you to have the right to say it." This is freedom of speech.
You do not know me but yet feel entitled to make assumptions about my character. Please refrain from making personal attacks.

He didn't actually say that. Bet he wished he did though.

This is a post in Conflict in the Middle East chat, is it not? Therefore I can post on any threads relating to Israel or/and Palestine. Why would I post in Black Mumnetters? Very strange.

A very good indication

There are a few posters that can't help but post on every thread

Good luck to them - whatever helps them get through their day 🤷🏻‍♀️

In the current climate this OP is really quite obviously posted to provoke a reaction. Therefore goady. And also troll-like.

RubySunset82 · 24/11/2023 19:24

I have friends boycotting Israeli businesses! Eg Costa? No idea why them.

Why is supporting Israeli businesses wrong 'in the current climate' (aka a few noisy people on social media and a much reviled violent, racist march every Saturday) and what reaction is meant to be provoked? Because if anyone does feel the need to be nasty or racist then that is on them.

Dilbertian · 24/11/2023 19:34

Here's a British charity to support. I wonder whether the objectors to this thread will object to this suggestion, or laugh at it.

i stand corrected. it was Evelyn Beatrice Hall who said it to summarise his beliefs.

BlowDryRat · 24/11/2023 19:40

Sodastream and Dead Sea products have already been mentioned. I can't think of any other run-of-the-mill consumer products off the top of my head! However, I work for a Jewish-run business in Finchley and have been popping into the local cafés for lunch instead of getting a supermarket meal deal. I also buy small gifts for my Jewish colleagues for Hanukkah (Kosher chocolate coins, candles). They are feeling very vulnerable right now.

I'm not blind to the plight of the Palestinian people and I don't agree with the Israeli government on a whole range of issues, including their bombardment of Gaza. I donate monthly to Standing Together, a grassroots movement working for a safe, dignified life for both Israelis, Israeli Arabs and Palestinians.

English | standing-together

Standing Together is the grassroots people’s movement in Israel. We organize Jews and Arabs, locally and nationally, around campaigns for peace, equality and social justice, in order to build power and transform Israeli society.

Or maybe it is for people who don't want to take sides and recognise there is a massive lot of innocent people suffering on both sides... A Here is a thread for Scottish based gifts isn't anti-English or Irish or Welsh and would be happily posted alongside threads about each of those other countries...why is this seen as goady? I think you see the world in a suspicious manner @LindorDoubleChoc which says more about you than it does the OP.
