Channukah is coming up (7/8 December, for eight nights). That’s our Christmas (ish). See if there are open events near you, come along to Jewish bakeries to try suvganiot and latkes… see what ordinary Jewish families do.

Standing up for the Iraeli cause, standing against anti semitism, not standing quietly by if you hear anything anti semitic, saying loud and clear we do not stand for anti semitism in the UK in any context, even the terrible examples recorded recently in some places of worship.

On a similar note, this is the time for me to put my money where my mouth is. A Christian channel I follow is always asking for donations, to help maintain their upkeep.

They've been presenting a refreshingly neutral Middle East report each night. I will be donating financially at 🎄 time.

Some fruit and vegetables are from Israel. Choose these if there is a choice.

😄😄

I needed a laugh, so thank you.

@LittleMsTellTheTruth Interesting to see you don’t support initiatives promoting peace and equality in the region. I wonder why not?

StrawberriesSW1 · 24/11/2023 18:20

Most are so intolerant they can't even bear you spending your money where you wish. Kind gesture OP.

I visited Israel and some Palestinian territories for my 40th birthday a few years ago. I cried when a Palestinian in Bethlehem (Palestine) told me of his hate for Israelis. He actually said he will mrdr them. Yet he was kind to me.
I also met an another Palestinian girl in Nazareth (Israel) who explained how her grand parents and parent were given the option etc. They chose which they wanted and live in peace. We're still friends online today.
It's so heartbreaking.
I pray God's will is done.

Which begs the question why you clicked on this thread. Mind you, we shouldn't complain because you're helping to bump it. Well done.

No, the more ignorant people call for boycotting, the more support I will give. How classy your comment is at such a time.

OhNoForever · 24/11/2023 18:25

Try here if you would like to support those in need

There is already a thread about that. I will be reading to get some ideas about how I can support ordinary Palestinians as well as Israelis. Maybe you should stick with just the Palestinian one?

This thread has been set up to mimic an earlier thread

How sad and petty, but then not surprising 🤔

Why are so many of you coming onto this thread to cause trouble? You want to talk sad and petty?

Well I'm reporting posts and hopefully others will be doing the same later.

Good of you to pop onto the thread to tell us

Dilbertian · 24/11/2023 18:33

Dead Sea products.

My favourite is HB Dead Sea Minerals. Many of their products are available on Amazon. I particularly like their Carrot Moisturiser. Based in Petah Tikva, I believe, which is not in the West Bank.

www.hbdeadsea.com/product-category/skin-care-products/facial-creamsfacial-moisturizers-for-skincare/

There are other Dead Sea cosmetics companies based in Arad (also not the West Bank) very near the Dead Sea. I know of Daor and Arad 26, but I haven't used their products in years.

Ahava manufacture AFAIK in both West Bank and 'mainland' Israel. Also some lovely products.

The irony of BDS forcing companies like Sodastream and Ahava to relocate outside the West Bank - who do they think made up the majority of the workforces? Including, in Sodastream at least, managers.

Go ahead. I don't see why you shouldn't. There is a thread for that, too.

But it's not this one, OK?

backtowinter · 24/11/2023 18:38

I love Dead Sea products.

I might see if I can order some hampers for Christmas

Libertass · 24/11/2023 18:39

If anyone knows of a Jewish delicatessen, food shop or restaurant in the East Midlands, please nominate them because I would be delighted to support that business.

Probably doesn't believe that any Israelis could be working for peace and equality with non-Jews.
