Please do all you can to object to the genocide of Palestinians

It’s just heartbreaking. I’ve seen videos on twitter that are beyond anything I can even begin to describe. Palestinians are being murdered in their thousands and the western media is largely pretending it’s not happening.

The average age of the people who have been killed in Gaza is FIVE years old.

The UK media are not showing how the Israeli government is openly talking about, and cheerleading genocide now. Israeli government speaks about Palestinians as if they are not humans. They are saying women are targets as they can have babies. I’ve just read how, since October 7th they have taken over 5,000 Palestinians from the West Bank and tortured them. They were already routinely arresting Palestinians and taking them away from their family with no reason and no but this is not being adequately reported.

Please, please visit sites such as 972 magazine and declassified uk. The BBC, etc, unfortunately aren’t reporting the extent to what is going on.

Israel and its allies are repurposing the goals and lies of 1948 – in Gaza in 2023

Israel is openly carrying out ethnic cleansing inside Gaza, driving Palestinians outside their homeland as happened in 1948. And yet, just as during the first “Nakba”, Israel's lies and deceptions dominate the West’s media and political narrative.

From the UN

The UN’s Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing, Balakrishnan Rajagopal, who has been monitoring the destruction of civilian housing and infrastructure in Gaza, wrote on X:

What has happened in Gaza is the result of what I call ‘institutionalized impunity’. Impunity for occupation. For a war of extermination. Genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Sorry but I will not be objecting to the genocide because I do not think it is a genocide yet. More could be done to minimise losses, certainly.

I am glad that The BBC is being urged to drop singer Olly Alexander as its entrant for Eurovision after it emerged he signed a letter calling Israel an 'apartheid regime' and accusing Jewish state of 'genocide'

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12889229/bbc-urged-sack-olly-alexander-uk-eurovision-entrant-letter-against-israel-signed.html

Oh I am not a fan but I am pleased he spoke up. Good for him. I did not know this. Thanks for sharing!

Wonder if Israel will be in next year’s ‘Eurovision’. As an aside I think it’s strange that Israel and Australia are in it anyway.

I object to killing in Palestine and hostages held in Palestine. For me they are linked.

@Delphinium20 I couldn’t read the article as it was behind a paywall I believe? But, from the title I can see that it was about October 7th.

I unequivocally condemn any violence - sexual or other - against innocent civilians.

That is why I unequivocally condemn the murder of 20,000+ innocent civilians, do you?

@EasterIssland I know what you mean but I think they need to keep inviting her to expose the batshittery.

I have had a few days away from looking at it all and just properly caught up. So awful and pointless. Saw several sick clips of idf soldiers celebrating as buildings were obliterated. How brainwashed do you have to be to celebrate all that destruction and human suffering? How are they happy about causing such misery to defenceless people?

What a disgusting human she is

Boomboom22 · 04/01/2024 23:29

And yet there are many many posters on here supporting Israel and agreeing basically they should all die because hamas on Oct 7th.
It's being said out loud by multiple members of the gov and people still deny genocide on here.

stomachameleon · 04/01/2024 23:39

@Boomboom22

agreeing basically they should all die because hamas

I haven't seen that. Which 'many many posters'?

Boomboom22 · 04/01/2024 23:42

There are at least 10 different names all over the gc Israel thread. Its mad, they don't seem to understand the dissonance. I'd expect most feminists to be anti both and certainly not pro Israel given the destruction.

Boomboom22 · 04/01/2024 23:44

So good to hear about Olly standing up for what is right. If they drop him for that it would be a terrible message to send.
Basically you must shut up and support our interests in the middle East or we will silence you! Just let Israel do anything at all, and censor people who ask questions.

stomachameleon · 04/01/2024 23:48

@Boomboom22 surely it's not anti feminist to stand with the women who were raped and attacked on 7/10?
The silence on this has been abhorrent.

Couldn't agree more; they've been disturbingly forgotten.

I just wrote a long message and managed to delete it before posting 🤦‍♀️

It was just saying about a few other things that have really stood out to me today.

Firstly I watched a video of the beautiful sermon given by the Vicar of Bethlehem on Christmas Eve. He was saying how God and Jesus would both be found in the rubble with the children of Gaza. If anyone gets a chance to watch it, it is incredibly moving. I’ll try to link it if I can.

The other thing was an interview with an Israeli lady who works for the charity Breaking the Silence. She discussed how it’s hard to comprehend how a lovely boy can grow up in Israel and at the age of 18 suddenly go and commit all kinds of horrors against a population. She believes it’s due to years of indoctrination, where Palestinians are dehumanised. She explains it much better than I can. But she says some soldiers get to the point where they are pointing the gun at a defenceless little girl and they realise that they aren’t, themselves, the victims they have been bought up to believe.

If we are talking about feminism - How many pregnant Palestinian women need to starve to death? How many must have c sections without pain relief? Or give birth on their own because there is no safe way of getting to the hospital, and no safe hospitals for that matter. How many babies must die, either in childbirth, directly after through lack of medicine, a bit later from starvation or another time when bombed and killed?

How many will satisfy the quest to avenge what a COMPLETELY different set of people did?

in the scenarios you laid out, how can one not feel compassion? But in the same vein, we must also remember that the Israeli women attending a music festival before being kidnapped, raped and brutalized were innocents too. What on earth did they do to warrant such brutality? I object to the deafening silence from the pro Palestinian supporters, who refuse to condemn these acts of violence publicly. All women's lives are sacred and valuable. ALL women, Palestinian and Israeli, are innocents caught up in this horror.

Boomboom22 · 05/01/2024 01:11

Literally everyone condemned the Oct 7th attack. I don't understand this argument. It's just meant to justify more and more killing

Sorry you're feeling confused and bored by the " argument" but some of us care and can't so casually forget the heinous act of violence that kicked all of this off.

Israel’s national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, called on Monday for Israeli settlers to return to Gaza after the war and for a “solution to encourage the emigration” of its Palestinian population. His comments echoed those by the far-right finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, who repeated his call on Sunday for Palestinian residents of Gaza to leave and make way for Israelis who could “make the desert bloom”.
