Please do all you can to object to the genocide of Palestinians

It’s just heartbreaking. I’ve seen videos on twitter that are beyond anything I can even begin to describe. Palestinians are being murdered in their thousands and the western media is largely pretending it’s not happening.

The average age of the people who have been killed in Gaza is FIVE years old.

The UK media are not showing how the Israeli government is openly talking about, and cheerleading genocide now. Israeli government speaks about Palestinians as if they are not humans. They are saying women are targets as they can have babies. I’ve just read how, since October 7th they have taken over 5,000 Palestinians from the West Bank and tortured them. They were already routinely arresting Palestinians and taking them away from their family with no reason and no but this is not being adequately reported.

Please, please visit sites such as 972 magazine and declassified uk. The BBC, etc, unfortunately aren’t reporting the extent to what is going on.

Sadly, it's everywhere. I live in a very mixed area and we have famously got on. I worked for a long time in a Jewish muslim interfaith organisation (nisa nashim, you can look it up) but the same people I live and work with are putting up posts like these. I won't post too many directly from their pages as outing but here are some open ones.

😔 I really hate it when people turn into detectives and jump to their own conclusions. Unless you have actual, indisputable, proof no one should be saying stuff like that. That foot photo is horrifying. And the second post looks like two different children? I mean, obviously not the point of your post, but I just wouldn't have looked at those specific photos and gone "AHA! They're trying to trick us!".

You and I really don't agree on a lot on here, but I can definitely see why you'd be upset if this is the kind of stuff you're coming across. I'm coming across a lot of the complete opposite of this (people denying 7th of October was as brutal as they say etc) and it's absolutely heartbreaking, but also infuriating and frustrating beyond belief. I'm sure you must feel similar.

@Chaitales that's really sad. It wouldn't even occur to me though, even if I thought something, to remove or comment about others posters. It seem even the things you should leave well alone people are saying exactly what they like....they think they have the right. Why can't we just be respectful?

I think if I read a small portion of what is on the internet regarding this conflict I would go mad. I don't mind admitting it's the first thing I think about in the morning and I am struggling to sleep. It is so intrusive. I think we have a long way to go mind you.

Sorry ladies (I assume ladies) I am just sending this from an article in an Israeli newspaper- you’re under no obligation to respond but I feel like you both are acting in good faith and I am genuinely very interested in what you might think. I feel disturbed by the bloodlust of some other posters and think I’d rather not know more about how their minds operate...

Do you have any issue or concern with this being the plan in Gaza? It was published in mid Oct and from what I can see is being followed pretty closely so far. The writer is former head of national security council.
Does it make you have any reservations about support for the Israeli response, or does it at least challenge the notion of the onslaught being done in “self-defence”?

Does it look like collective punishment to you?

I think whats been quite shocking to see is how much of a divide this war has caused. I have been following the conflict in Israel and palestine for a number of years and I have never seen anything like how it is now. Maybe because of the rise in social media?
The whole world seems to be watching eagle eyed on what is happening
And there's so much hate. Extreme hate on all sides. People are gearing to tear each other down
From celebrities to the normal every day person
I was in hospital the other day and one of the porters stopped to wait for some papers to be scanned. In the minute that he stopped I could hear him watching the news on the israel palestine conflict
It makes me despair if there will ever be a. When i see how much divide there is on this here then i wonder how it must be for those directly affected by the war and it as each day goes by it makes me despair that we will ever see a peaceful two state solution after this. Rather a continuation of the cycle of conflict

I should add I know I have strong views myself and also not immune to arguments. It's just the extreme hate that is shown regularly by both sides that is so disturbing

Perhaps be more discernible about what you read..... (I am praying now that was not on here) there are certain places I wouldn't read views or thoughts.

Never have I been so glad I don’t use social media much (just MN and Reddit really). I’ve missed out on all sorts of horrors. From unfiltered images of October 7 or the razing of Gaza to evil comments like the one above.

@Stomacharmeleon no but I'm not suprised by Geert Wilders making such comments. Over the years he has always been very open about his anti Islamic views so it would seem likely for him to have such a stance. It seems like he has a really deep hatred for Muslims and is proud to say it too

This was never about finding Hamas or even about some kind of sick misplaced revenge, this was about killing anyone who moved and making Gaza uninhabitable.

How is Israel getting away with this? It’s horrific.

This could be stopped by Hamas tomorrow by releasing the hostages and handing over those responsible for the terrorist atrocities of 7 October.
