It’s just heartbreaking. I’ve seen videos on twitter that are beyond anything I can even begin to describe. Palestinians are being murdered in their thousands and the western media is largely pretending it’s not happening.

The average age of the people who have been killed in Gaza is FIVE years old.

The UK media are not showing how the Israeli government is openly talking about, and cheerleading genocide now. Israeli government speaks about Palestinians as if they are not humans. They are saying women are targets as they can have babies. I’ve just read how, since October 7th they have taken over 5,000 Palestinians from the West Bank and tortured them. They were already routinely arresting Palestinians and taking them away from their family with no reason and no but this is not being adequately reported.

Please, please visit sites such as 972 magazine and declassified uk. The BBC, etc, unfortunately aren’t reporting the extent to what is going on.

Israel and its allies are repurposing the goals and lies of 1948 – in Gaza in 2023

Israel is openly carrying out ethnic cleansing inside Gaza, driving Palestinians outside their homeland as happened in 1948. And yet, just as during the first “Nakba”, Israel's lies and deceptions dominate the West’s media and political narrative.

Despite my neutral background, both professionally and ethnically, I really resent that the Abrahamic religious-ethnic groups in the Middle East can't get their shit together after these 4K plus years and the rest of us are forced into stupid infighting over who has it worse.

In my own country, over 19,000 people were murdered in 2022 (FBI just release our crime data), and over half of them Black Americans. I resent that we Americans have to deal with this ME conflict halfway around the world when there is violence and danger in my own back yard.

Humans can be shit, but they can also broker peace (Japan and the US). Religion+grievance+propaganda is losing combination.

Reallifelurker · 21/11/2023 23:36

But the Gazan people voted these terrorists in. They aren't separate

No Hamas took Gaza over by force. That’s why Israel put up the blockade.

Stomacharmeleon · 21/11/2023 23:39

@Rachna83 how are you going to police that?

MrsClausno27 · 21/11/2023 23:39

Israel have already said they won't stop even if the hostages are freed. Respectfully, Thats how much Israel cares for its citizens.

When October 7th happened , nobody, NOBODY condoned it.

I will make no apology to describe October 7th as an isolated and horrific attack.

However it is in no way comparable to this complete and utter, carpet bombing ethnic cleansing genocide that is taking place every second with the Palestinians.

I can't sleep because I have just watched a little girl the same age as my daughter , with an amputated hand crying in pain because the only thing the hospital has to give her for pain relief is calpol.

It's been 44 plus days of death, destruction of an entire infrastructure, withholding aid, cutting off electric , Israel even claiming rain water as their own. Bombing refugee camps, bombing hospitals , bombing schools, killing press, killing UN members.

If it carries on for another month, two months, a year will October 7th still be mentioned as a form of justification or comparison or what aboutery? Really? Are they really the same ?

So kindly fuck off with your comparisons between 7th October .

It's gone well beyond that.

Stomacharmeleon · 21/11/2023 23:40

@Reallifelurker they also had an election remember? And murdered most of their rivals.

Rachna83 · 21/11/2023 23:42

It would run in the same way as any other board set up for a specific group.

Reallifelurker · 21/11/2023 23:42

they also had an election remember?

Yeah. In 2005.
THEN they took Gaza over by force* *

Rachna83 · 21/11/2023 23:43

Meant to quote this.

tinatsarina · 21/11/2023 22:56

But the Gazan people voted these terrorists in. They aren't separate, the Gazan people are paying for hamas' crimes, and hamas' is gladly letting them.

There have been no elections in Gaza since 2006. The voting age is 18 which means no one under the age of 34 voted for Hamas. Somone else has done the maths and taking age and vote share into account only 14% of the current population voted for Hamas.

We are also told that Israel is the only democracy in the middle east and yet everyone refers to free and fair elections in Gaza when they want to argue that the suffering of the civilians in Gaza is their own fault.

Stomacharmeleon · 21/11/2023 23:45

@Rachna83 we don't have a secret handshake and a club card anyone can come on it. It won't stop derailments as you can't police the boards.

Humdingerydoo · 21/11/2023 23:46

@MrsClausno27 "When October 7th happened , nobody, NOBODY condoned it."

People were celebrating it. All over the world. And all over social media. For days, there were posts on Facebook from Israelis asking for news about their loved ones and every single post had thousands of 😂 reactions. And the comments... The comments were absolutely horrific. This was before Israel had started retaliating. This was before Israel even knew the extent of what had happened.

Please don't try and convince us this didn't happen. It was such a low point in humanity.

I hope all the hostages are released soon so this can all hopefully end.

Silence1 · 21/11/2023 23:49

Stomacharmeleon · 21/11/2023 23:40

@Reallifelurker they also had an election remember? And murdered most of their rivals.

And the Israelis voted in someone who was convicted of supporting a terrorist organization and made him head of National security. That terrorist organization is no longer a prescribed organization by the US because allegedly it is no longer active.
It doesn't have to be though as it is now represented in the Israeli Govt which is carrying out exactly the kind of atrocities against Palestinians it would support.

Ixxy1980 · 21/11/2023 23:49

If they keep going like this, there’ll be no-one left alive in Gaza. Going by how many members of hamas they said they have killed, they have a less than 1% success rate. Over 99% of the casualties have been innocent civilians.

If they truly won’t stop until hamas are eradicated, then at their current rate, Israel will need to kill 3 million civilians in order to kill the estimated 30,000 hamas terrorists.

Basically everyone in Gaza.

Decisiontimenow · 21/11/2023 23:51

Do pro Israeli war people on here at least acknowledge the fact the prime minister of Israel for what 15 years? Netanyahu funded Hamas and actively kept them in power so there was no chance of a peace deal/ 2 state solution? It’s spoken about so widely, it was an open secret. He was democratically elected right?

Are you aware of what percentage of the vote he has? He doesn't represent the majority of Israelis.

Can't comment on your question though as don't know anything about it.

MrsClausno27 · 21/11/2023 23:56

@Humdingerydoo you're talking about people on social media right, with their emojis? Abit like the the ones they use for the deaths of Palestinian babies now and the cheers of the Israelis when they hear the sound of bombs in the distance dropping over Gaza ? So what do reactions of people on social media prove now?
I meant nobody condoned it on an international level but you appear to be willingly misunderstanding me.
And you also believe 'it will all end' when the hostages are released? So you think Isreal is killing thousands and thousands of people - 75% of which are women and children - until they are safely handed back their hostages ? And then they'll magically stop and it will all end?

I'm well aware this is a public forum but it would be no different to the other groups that already exist on mumsnet for a specific group of people. These are primarily for them and respect asked for. Though I expect a lot of the regular posters who seem to enjoy derailing the threads would feel quite threatened by a separate board.

Reallifelurker · 21/11/2023 23:56

I guess it might be fair to say Hamas don’t represent the majority of Palestinians? Even if they were voted in. Once. 18 years ago.

Roste · 21/11/2023 23:56

Thanks OP, the last few weeks have certainly shown me how biased our media is in the U.K.
especially when we can access reports from Gazans on social media directly. It also means no one can claim they were unaware of the barbarity being inflicted on Palestine, and yes we all need to continue speaking up and raising awareness.

Yes, that would in theory be fair to say. Can't say for sure as obviously they haven't been given a chance to vote, so I have no idea who they support. Hopefully they can have elections soon and prove you right.

Decisiontimenow · 21/11/2023 23:58

@Humdingerydoo sure I know he’s deeply unpopular and as of 8 years ago friends of mine were protesting him there but the point is, no one under 34 voted for Hamas (so tiny percentage of people being killed) and somehow all of Gaza is responsible for their horrific actions. I’d say the man that was keeping them propped up and preventing an alternative should be held accountable rather than the bunch of kids they ruled over…

MrsClausno27 · 21/11/2023 23:58

@Humdingerydoo you thought some
Nasty comments were a low point in humanity but not 15000 dead Palestinians ?

Usou · 21/11/2023 23:59

Tell hamas.

They started it.

No, all of Gaza is not responsible for their actions. I think Hamas needs to be eradicated and I think Netanyahu and his cronies should fuck right off. They're all disgraceful. I disagree vehemently with settlers.

Honestly, the reason I'm on this thread in the first place is because I object to the classification of this war as genocide. It doesn't mean I agree with what Israel is doing though.

I don't want any more innocent people to die.
