Good afternoon,

This thread:https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/conflict-in-the-middle-east/4931824-placards-from-antisemitic-marches-in-london?reply=130705682&utm_source=brevo&utm_campaign=Mumsnet_Watched_Thread_Notification_New_Talk&utm_medium=email

has reached 1k replies and has been closed as this is the maximum replies possible for a thread.

This topic needs to be kept open especially as now grafitti has been found close to the route taken by Pro Palestinian marchers:

This is absolutely abhorrently anti-semitic.

Police 'actively looking' for individuals over antisemitic signs at pro-Palestinian march

While a march in the capital calling for a ceasefire in Gaza remained largely peaceful, images are circulating on social media showing some protesters having carried antisemitic signs. Sky News has also seen antisemitic graffiti close to the route.

How else would you interpret "the final solution", please?

Hopefully the police find whoever was carrying thar sign. And shame on everyone who happily walked beside it.

These are antisemitic placards of which there have been many, and that's not up for debate to be quite honest. So naturally it follows that some will feel these are "antisemitic marches". And if you don't agree then I would suggest you do a bit of soul searching on your own anti-racism credentials, which so many of you have been proud to boast, not just in this thread but others.

If you don't like the thread title maybe start one of your own to specifically show placards that are calling for peace, destruction of Hamas, ceasefire, etc, etc.

This 100%

It is a hateful thing to compare Jewish history to anything negative things about mostly Jewish people. That is why it is antisemitism to make and march with a sign like this.

Most people realise this is not acceptable.

I would put money on these guy being one of Jez's fan club. Most the time this behaviour comes from them.

So much world history and bad things that have happened in the world. Yet this is what they choose to compare the mostly Jewish state actions with

It is deliberate antisemitism

Anyone that tries to defend this type of thing is complicit in this show of Jew hate. These people could pick anything to write on a sign that gets their message across but this is what they chose

It is deliberate anti-Semitism. When Saudi bombs Yemen, when Assad murdered Syrians, when our own bloody government attacked Iraq, it was never described as a Holocaust. It's deliberate because it's Israel.

Trulywonderful · 09/12/2023 17:24

AGAIN WITH THE HOLOCAUST

I am saying that in my grandmother's very noticeable Jewish voice, just in case you didn't get the message

It is like when brains where handed out these people were at the back of the queue. If you want people to listen to you and take what you say seriously then don't be racist. It really is very simple and most people do understand that.

Luckily most people do realise this simple fact

Hence why the organisers make pre printed signs that stay on message now

Do you remember the marches in 2021. They didn't have so many pre designed signs then. So the Jew hate on show was crazy and horrific on every protest. Lots of Jews killed Jesus signs, an inflatable Jew devil at one of them, hundreds of signs mentioning the nazis and holocaust. Plus what they were shouting was far worse than this time.

We had the Convoy of protesters drive through a Jewish area shouting kill the mothers and rape the daughters too! Apparently Hamas agrees with them on that as we have seen. We have even had similar fuckwits try to do the same thing as that Convoy more recently in London but the police caught them before they got there and broke the whole thing up.

Yes, but apparently this is "Suella type rhetoric"

It's usually pretty easy to identify folk who've done a recent crash course at the University of Jez.

It is just deflection to say that is Stuella type rhetoric. These protests and protesters had sign like these back in 2021. She wasn't such a public figure making or doing speeches or interviews about it then. Yet people like myself were saying the same thing back theand posting about it

I think some people don't realise if they keep being apologists or trying to deflect from the antisemitism shown people will just think they agree with the antisemitism very obviously on display in the photos and videos. How they think this helps anyone I just don't understand.

MindHowYouGoes · 09/12/2023 17:54

How many antisemitic signs do there have to be before pro Palestine posters realise there are antisemitic marchers?

I think a fair few on the marches realtors already but are fine with it

I know a couple of people at work have stopped attending the marches now because they have realised the fuckwittery going on. They still support a ceasefire, however don't want to be associated with certain types of people.

@Jupitersstorm please change the title of this thread. As another poster has mentioned it is incorrect and inappropriate to call these ‘antisemitic marches’. It’s disrespectful to the hundreds of thousands who attend them each week and who ARE marching for a humanitarian ceasefire and for Palestinian rights.
it you want a thread to discuss placards considered to be anti-Semitic at these events and to discuss anti social behaviors then that’s fine, but it’s totally unfair to slander all the protesters attending them in such a way.

Edited

I don't think so somehow. You're having a laugh. These are 100 % anti-Semitic marches.

Agree completely. Why should the existence of a vile prejudiced contingent on these marches be allowed to prevent others marching? The decent ones who want peace and the murder of innocent Palestinian children to stop?

Why should the extreme marchers ‘win’ and stop the moderate ones from expressing their views?

We must not stop people marching if they genuinely want peace and we certainly should not stop people marching if they oppose the UK government’s pro-Israel stance and want to express their views.

It is easy to just see the hideous antisemites on the match and feel revulsion. But they don’t represent everyone on that march and it is incorrect to say that they do.

stomachameleon · 09/12/2023 19:59

I don't see many people challenging them? Apart from the police (reluctantly)

Nobody is preventing them marching though I now believe that they should be prevented from marching as the organisers cannot be trusted to keep the criminal, racist placards and chants out.

Anyway it's totally bizarre how the usual suspects are requesting, nay even ordering a thread name change. I mean, think about the 300 + Pro Palestinian/genocide/IDF are monsters, type of threads posted.

Imagine if they were asked to change the name of their threads? Extraordinary.
