The bloodshed needs to stop.

Thousands of innocent people mercilessly massacred in less than 3 weeks and the genociders are still at it in brazen impunity.

You are in our hearts and thoughts. They may cut off all communication but we will never stop shouting from the rooftops:

I am with Gaza; I am with Palestine 🇵🇸

And your voices will be heard.

Could be many reasons,

To bring them to national attention?

There relatives could be British ?

Why, does it bother you?

Ignore the silly comments coming in to try and derail it get this thread cancelled. Thanks OP , not much ordinary people can do other than speak up. So yes, I’ll say it again here and elsewhere, I’ll go on marches, I’ll donate my money and send my prayers.I stand with Palestine.

No terrorist organisation has ever been bombed out of existence. That approach has been unsuccesful across the Middle East. Destroying Gaza is deliberately targeting civilians.
The UK and Ireland illustrate how hard-won and fragile peace is. As does the gacaca system in Rwanda, etc.
Bombing civilians never brings peace and never destroys terrorist ideologies.

LaDerniereVacheFolle · 28/10/2023 08:54

I was answering a question.

I also think the word 'genocide' is being thrown about far too often without people understanding what it actually is.

Ohlalalalala · 28/10/2023 08:54

Just wanted to share this definition:

Genocide is the intentional destruction of a people[a] in whole or in part. In 1948, the United Nations Genocide Convention defined genocide as any of five "acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group". These five acts were: killing members of the group, causing them serious bodily or mental harm, imposing living conditions intended to destroy the group, preventing births, and forcibly transferring children out of the group. Victims are targeted because of their real or perceived membership of a group, not randomly.[1][2]
Wiki

Did you count how many ✔️ if we applied this definition to what's going on in Gaza????

And YET some people try to throw dust in our eyes!!!!

Can I ask you OP, what you think of those UK residents tearing down the posters of innocent Israeli (among other nationalities) hostages? including little toddlers wrenched from their mothers, currently held in tunnels by the inbreds of Hamas? If they're still alive ofc, which I doubt.

Oh stop with the propaganda. The entire world has its eyes wide open and overwhelmingly stand with Palestine.

Bombing Gaza like this to eradicate Hamas is like dropping bombs on a school to eradicate a shooter while the pupils are still inside.

Are you seriously asking that?

To raise awareness, the same way posters here are posting photos of some Palestinian victims. There is a thread about it in this very topic.

Also why shouldn't the missing posters be in London? If someone's not happy with this, then they can always raise it with the LA, instead of tearing them down.

Same as “you’re being anti semitism”

juju99 · 28/10/2023 09:01

I posted this on another thread. A friend sent a message saying they were using mosque loud speakers to communicate in Gaza last night, asking people to pray for them, saying they have no one but God. They must feel the whole world has abandoned them.
I believe only Al-Jazeera correspondents had access to the outside world (via satellite) and were still reporting last night?

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 28/10/2023 09:02

Having said that, I don't Israel think are doing themselves any favours with their current approach. The are creating future followers of Hamas and worse.

feralunderclass · 28/10/2023 09:09

I stand with Palestinians 🇵🇸 I'm marching today to say no to the genocide.

Exactly. Accusing anyone of being a Hamas supporter for being against the actions of the Israeli government is even more ridiculous now as well. Are most of the UK public supporting Hamas? No. They are standing with Gaza. The actions of the government are indefensible at this point. I would be wary of anyone trying to justify the situation in Gaza just now.

ChickHenLittle · 28/10/2023 09:16

It isn't just being described as genocide on MN. I would also recommended following Jewish Voice For Peace.

The fall of Sebrenica was genocide. 8,000 civilians massacred.
Gaza matches Sebrenica, so there is no denying this is a genocide.

Milosevic also laughed at the UN and when he was told he’d committed genocide he responsed that it was a “hostile and evil attack” on him. He died o in a prison cell in The Hague bringing his trial to a premature end.

Netanhyu and his ministers have a very similar crazed response to the UN and all world leaders pleading with him. Accusing them of “defending Nazi terrorists”

After the murdering of innocent civilian men, women, children and even babies, they too will be in The Hague. And the world will wonder why in the fuck did we let this happen again.

The UN needs to be able to enforce international law. It is utter bullshit that they are merely advisory and issue “non binding” motions begging thar mercy be shown to the innocent.

Totally agree. It isn't enough that they refuse to listen to the UN, they should be forced to face up to their war crimes and the suitable punishments for them. We don't let murderers refuse to go to court and be tried, this should be no different.

They are seeming quite crazed, Netanyahu has always come across as not quite sane, but it really has stepped up to quite concerning levels within the wider government as well.

Unfortunately this seems like another case where the world will watch in horror as it happens, and only after the event will the Israeli government be held to account. After all Putin is still a free man, and Ukraine is still under attack, although at least our government didn't send weapons to the attacker.

@ChickHenLittle, thanks for posting this, I will take a look.

If your only source for news on this conflict is Al Jazeera and the BBC/CNN, it's wise to consult another source too (to get a fully rounded picture. IsraelToday has some interesting insights.

No matter how strongly I think I feel about a subject, I always consult a news source from 'the other side' and approach it with an open mind to try and step out of my own confirmation bias. I don't doubt there are innocent people suffering but I also know Hamas has an extremely sophisticated PR and media unit which regularly sets up photo and media opportunities in order to advance its cause of annihilating the Jewish people.
