I’m sharing what I can on my instagram account instead my normal stuff. People who’ve been following me have started to post things too. It’s not much but we can all do something. We owe it to them to continue especially while they are plunged into darkness.

I’ve just seen a photo of the darkness and all I can think is it must be so frightening. Just as a mother wanting to make sure your children are safe. I can’t bring myself to think about the children unable to find their parents. If anyone does survive they’ll be so traumatised 😞😢

I stand with Gaza and the Palestinian people tonight, I am thinking of them and praying for them tonight.

Well, evil has triumphed….yet again. The only people with the power to do something have stood by and done nothing…yet again. Jewish people were the victims of the most awful atrocities carried out by Hamas on October 7, but, my God, Israel has wrought an unconscionable and bloody revenge on ordinary Palestinian people. It needs to be stopped. It doesn’t need world leaders endorsing this slaughter.

So the way these threads generally work is:

1. Excuse my ignorance as I don't know much about the Arab Israeli conflict but could someone please explain to me [insert something emotive]
2. post some factually incorrect comments and deny certain events took place
3. when countered / challenged or corrected immediately shift to whataboutery
4. quickly moving on to conspiracy theories
5. once seeds of doubt are planted revert back to denial

The thing is both sides of this debate are driven by conviction and will dismiss any factual information that shows their comments to be fake news. Nothing will ever change both sides views and unless we stop emotive opinions and instead stick to the facts then it will be impossible to reach a peaceful solution.

I don't understand how supposedly civilised nations can be sitting back and watching this happen. The UK is always one of the first countries to get involved in international conflicts so why is nothing being done to try to stop so many innocent lives being lost. I'm ashamed to be British.
