Genocide is the intentional destruction of a people[a] in whole or in part. In 1948, the United Nations Genocide Convention defined genocide as any of five "acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group". These five acts were: killing members of the group, causing them serious bodily or mental harm, imposing living conditions intended to destroy the group, preventing births, and forcibly transferring children out of the group. Victims are targeted because of their real or perceived membership of a group, not randomly.[1][2] Wikipedia

Reservist Major General Giora Eiland told Israeli media on Monday that Israel’s actions in “creating a severe humanitarian crisis is a necessary means to achieve the goal. Gaza will become a place where no human being can exist.”

Oxfam says starvation is being used as a weapon of war against civilians in Gaza, adding just two percent of usual food has been delivered to the enclave since Israel’s “total siege”.

Gaza death toll rises to 6,500, including Al Jazeera correspondent’s family

It was the Gazan government who butchered entire families from what had been reported. I haven’t seen any reports of the IDF cutting off anyone’s head with a garden hoe and it was definitely be all over SM if there was.

What the hell are you on about - MY quench for blood? I certainly don’t condone the Gazan government blocking the roads to prevent their citizens from evacuating legitimate target sites after being warned to by the Israelis if that’s what you mean but it should be remembered that the majority of Gazans support their government which is the reason their children are dying.

Terrorist supporters still denying the atrocities inflicted on Israelis because they haven’t seen the pictures or the CCTV? You have the audacity to ask if I’ve lost my mind?

No one is denying anything except you denying the genocide and trying to justify it. Is speaking out against the horrific genocide and calling for the genociders to stop their brazen crimes against innocent people = Hamas supporters? Is that your logic? Pathetic.

@Stomacharmeleon if you follow the thread you will see we were all
discussing the attacks on Gaza and the statements from the Israeli government about the Palestinians. We are on day 11/12 of this war…….we are now naturally discussing the current ongoing situation in gaza.
@WomanOfTheWoods then came on and started accusing us of denying the attacks and telling us how noble the IDF are for not showing the Israeli victims! I have not denied the attack. Who in their right mind would!! How am I even trying to defend myself here when it’s all in writing for you to read! This is exhausting. Talk about disrupting a thread.

Stomacharmeleon · 28/10/2023 23:19

@Chaiandkaafee sorry I misunderstood so we are only discussing events moving forward?

Chaiandkaafee · 28/10/2023 23:21

@Stomacharmeleon I couldn’t possibly tell you what to discuss. Could I?

Ohdearanotheryear · 28/10/2023 23:27

WomanOfTheWoods · 28/10/2023 22:13

I was referring to calls for pics of the DEAD to prove beheadings, limbs cuts off, eyes gouged out, breasts cut off, babies heads smashed in, children tied together and set on fire etc.

The Israelis had to give a journalist viewing to prove this after they were accused of lying. They could have released these pictures and videos on SM but they didn't.

Why do you think that was?

We saw the Palestinian civilians celebrating these acts of savagery in the streets though, on their knees shouting Allahu Akbar which means Allah is the greatest.

Totally this.

I was sickened by the request to share this so sick people could see if for themselves because they didn't believe the accounts of the many journalists who sat through the showing of the sick Hamas recordings.

They knew people wouldn't believe hence the showing for journalists. The journalists confirmed they saw it and sobbed. Yet sick believe don't believe it unless they see it.

I'm disgusted so don't post much since the terrorist apologists deny everything that doesn't suit their agenda.

Chaiandkaafee · 28/10/2023 23:29

@Ohdearanotheryear you’ve written there were requests - who requested to see the footage?

Maybe release the hostages? Why would Israel give up without getting what they came for. Why would they leave now?

Hamas knew what would happen when they took hostages.

maybe Israel should return all the hostages too especially children. Maybe IDF don’t want the hostages back. They are intent on genocide

Coming back to the premise of your thread @Ohlalalalala it seems the bombing is continuing with internet being cut off too! I hope the UN resolution that was passed today (I believe) is stuck to and humanitarian relief is allowed in.

@Ohdearanotheryear @WomanOfTheWoods remember to stick to the briefing about what you can/ cannot discuss.

ChickHenLittle · 29/10/2023 10:37

I'm ignoring the inflammatory posts and attempted derailing of the thread, hence my seemingly unrelated post (to some of the previous posts).

Motaz Azaiza has posted a video on Instagram, showing the difficulties faced when Gaza was in a complete blackout. Glad he is safe and alive, horrifying to see the conditions there. Growing more ashamed each day of our PM and every other leader not condemning the Israeli government and making them stop their campaign of terror.
BBC estimates half a million marching in London ALONE. There were countless marches in every UK country... start listening to the people and not following your own agenda. We are with Palestine.

etmoietmoietmoi · 29/10/2023 11:06

Yes, here's one in Dundee. Chris Law has spent his career campaigning for child victims in war zones. You talk about listening to people yet listening to these protesters it's clear they don't want a two-state solution, so what's the alternative?

Wow.
Just watched that. He campaigns for peace. Wants a 2 state solution but the 'protesters' want none of that. Some won't be happy until Israel is no more.
I think he may have had his eyes opened a bit, he looks shocked being shouted down when he proposes peace.

Chaiandkaafee · 29/10/2023 11:20

@ChickHenLittle It’s plain to see from the sheer number of PEACEFUL protesters at the rallies all around the WORLD that the general public isn’t buying the propaganda.

Chaiandkaafee · 29/10/2023 11:31

There will be an active effort to ban the protests in this country now as they are too popular and will be unsettling for the tories and labour. A very large percentage of the electorate being so disgruntled with the weak stance the parties and this government is taking on the disproportionate attacks on Gaza poses a huge problem politically.

ketchup07070 · 29/10/2023 11:35

@Chaiandkaafee I don't think the UK is usually so oppressive? We have a tradition of free speech and the right to protest, which is why we are such a tolerant, peaceful country. Squashing that completely would make politicians very unpopular indeed.

Desertrose2023 · 25/10/2023 19:38

the apartheid and genocide apologists will be along soon with “but Hamas” !!

Edited

This is why it's in the government's best interest not to wipe out Hamas. The continued oppression, slaughter, genocide can continue "as we have no choice".

Just checked Motaz Azaiza Instagram; thanks @ChickHenLittle
Glad he's still well. I unfollowed him a few days ago because I couldn't bear watching the horror on my feed; so now I only visit to check he's still well and for any quick updates.

Thank God for SM. Imagine when the world had only CNN and Co to know what was happening in the world! I shiver to think about it. No wonder some people have such warped ideas about some regions in the world.

Palestine is not Hamas. Israel must stop. There can be no justification.

Are hamas Palestinian or not? If not, where are they from and why are they in Palestine?

SomeCatFromJapan · 29/10/2023 13:07

@etmoietmoietmoi unfortunately a lot of the pro-Palestine movement expects utter hatred of Israel from it's supporters. As was plainly evidenced in that clip.
The sad part is the more they support Israel-hate, the more Palestinians will wind up suffering and dying. People on both "sides" need to work towards a solution that is fair for everyone.

Encouraging "from the river to the sea" isn't going to end well for anyone.
