Oh, barbie - it could only happen to you - lol!

louey Love those dresses - but I'm with barbie, can only wear those if they come in plus sizes at the mo!

Curley You are a good mum - ensuring that your lo gets all the sleep she needs in order to function well and not scream at you even more.

Got to go - babba sleeping < I hope!

CurlyBigPants · 09/06/2010 11:37

Thank you all lovelies. I am really blessed to have you all and was really touched at the texts and posts because I know compared to some people on this thread I have nothing to complain about things are much better today so far and thank you Barbie for the booby story as well as the words of wisdom! Frantic day today as we are entertaining tonight but I aim to do the mother of all posts tomorrow and catch up with you all. You girls are amazing so my love to you all and hugs to anyone who needs them xxx

MummyLovesSadie · 09/06/2010 12:10

Just a quick one from me but I'll be back later tonight - update from Cupcake.

She is not very well at all with deep bruising from stitches. She can't walk so is having to stay in bed. Jude is being an angel though apparently & is feeding well.

Get well soon Cupcake.

barbie1 · 09/06/2010 12:32

Oh dear poor cupcake get well soon honey...

justshaggy · 09/06/2010 13:10

Poor cupcake. Get well soon. x

This is a bit of a me post ... very sick at the moment; runny-tummy, massive headache, temp climbing ever time i take it, nausea, shivery. I'm in the 2ww so really worried about compromising things. This is my second day in bed. What is safe to take if one was pg - esp to bring down temps? (I have to adopt a just in case mindset)

4everhopeful · 09/06/2010 13:24

Hey ladies.. Quick update from me.. Will really do birth story & personals soon, promise! Been lurkin from phone still! Cupcake & i been sympathising with each other having both had similar experience of the forceps & stitches.. Basically had to call doc out last tues as in so much pain thought i had infection, doc took swab, came back on thurs said looked worse so gave 2 rounds of anti bios, she came back yest & said that swab back clear so no infection after all & wound has healed well except for end on bum cheek which has opened up & is 1cm hole hence all the pain! Was sobbing at thought of goin back to hosp & restitching, tho reassured restich is last option, midwife also came & reckons will heal naturally just take a while.. Been referred to perineal clinic at hosp who also reassure should heal on own but go there in 2wks... Me & Cupcake both sayin how gutting to be dehabilitated when just wanna do mummy things, thank god for our DHs! (Tho mine back to work on mon ) Not left house yet & Summer 2wks today! Just wanted to do family stuff.. Still cuddles with her makes it all better & worthwhile, she is delicious & adorable & so good, well into a routine, her & DH keep me smiling! We are all lying in bed, they are both sleeping next to me & im melting with the most immense love oozing from every pore! Its truly amazing isnt it? I feel so blessed & thank god constantly to have our little hoped for miracle finally! Right cuddles are calling! Back soon, lots of love & hugs to each one of u! X X X X X

barbie1 · 09/06/2010 13:53

Summer is all lovely stretching & slowly stirring, sooooo adorably delicious! She is so long & lovely! X X X X X

monkeybumsmum · 09/06/2010 18:22

Oh poor Cupcake Sounds horrible... Really hope you get better soon xxx

Barbie you are so funny When are your memoirs coming out then?

4ever The happiness is pouring out of your post, and it's so lovely to read Enjoy those gorgeous moments, they are so, so precious x Btw re your poor stitch situation. Must be awful! You and Cupcake have really been through the wars - hope everything heals up v v soon for both of you.

Justshaggy You don't sound well at all Hope you feel better soon, but in the meantime paracetamol is fine to take I think. There are loads of tummy things going round, but that sounds like a nasty one. Let's hope you feel better by tomorrow...

Well, I went to see this new gynae this morning, and oh my god, to my utter horror, he is gorgeous Have now got a crush the size of Belgium. DH NOT impressed He did say that at least us girls can hide our 'crushes' whereas if a man's with a 'fit nurse' as he put it, it can get a bit embarrassing
Anyway, this very nice gynae was really reassuring about future chances and said there's no reason why things can't work out next time. He did do a scan to check all is well and said that I've ovulated within the last few days. I did feel something on Monday, so it must've been that. He did a swab for the thrush and has given me some tablets so hope things should be better soon...
Girls - when my AF arrives Mission Get Upduffed is on. I am terrified beyond words, but trying to be positive. I never thought I'd have to POAS again, feel like I'm living Groundhog Day.

Better go as ds needs a bath the cheeky monkey He is being an absolute delight at the moment, and saying really funny things.
Have a good evening all xxx

MummyLovesSadie · 09/06/2010 19:52

Monkey it's GREAT to hear you sounding so upbeat. Why would a good looking man ever want to be a gyae - it's just not cricket! I bet you had a total cringe at him having to take a swab for thrush! If you have ovulated in the last few days then that means you can officially start POAS & ttc in three weeks !

4ever you are sounding so happy, sorry that you are in pain with your stitches & the nasty sounding hole.

Shaggy it depends on how cautious you want to be whilst you are on the 2ww. Paracetamol are safe whilst you are pregnant but they don't recommend nurofen. Before I realised I was pregnant with dd, I took loads of nurofen at the beginning as I was getting really bad af-type pains. It's not like you are going out binge drinking is it.

Cupcake hope you manage to get out of bed & start moving around soon. At least ds is being good to his Mummy.

Barbie I think you need to start wearing a burkha!

Louey your Babymad stuff should arrive tomorrow, they are always super-quick. What cd will you start testing? After the mc's I started poas on cd 7 as I didn't want to risk missing ov - hell the tests are so damn cheap you could afford to do one every day of the month!

Curly it's not only very upsetting when you can't get your baby to stop crying, it's extremely frustrating, especially if you are a control freak (like me!) & you are used to being in control. Don't be hard on yourself & try not to let it become a battle between you & your dd. I went through the same thing many times & I'd end up crying & screaming too.

I'll try & come back in a bit to catch up more. Been sooooooo busy this week. We are having our downstairs toilet completely refitted & I've been running around trying to get bits & pieces for it, plus had some friends round today for a play-date (oh the shame of having a dusty rubble-strewn house), which ended up being a bit raucous - vomit stained rug, nice! Also went to a pampered chef party last night & didn't get home until 10.45 which is indecently late for me so v tired today.

To all the Boden devotee's, I had both emails too & managed to just about restrain myself as I'm still waiting for a delayed order I placed a couple of weeks ago!

P.S. Sabs 1 hour to BB kick-off YAY!

bluesatinsash · 09/06/2010 20:55

MLS at suggesting barbiebooby wears a Burhka!!

I didn't get the Boden email - sob!!! Been eyeing up some gorgeous clothes for DS's too.. Ah well I have ziltch pay next month anyway as occup. mat pay ran out this month so down to stat only so prob. just as well... Loved your dresses louey and had a peek at your photos on fb - your boys are doubly gorgeous - especially the snowy garden ones .

Anyway, going to try and make this a long one as we're off on holiday on Friday so won't be on for a week although will try to lurk on DH's I-phone..

cupcake - really hope things start easing off. Are you taking 'Arnica'? Its fantastic for bruising you can get it in tablet or cream form... I'm sure staring at Jude is easing it a little but feel for you and your sore bits

justshaggy - sorry to hear you're feeling rotten, echo that parac is fine to take at any time. BTW I didn't crochet the shawl - I wish I had the talent! - it was my Mum.

4ever you are the picture of babymoon bliss . Hope your stiches are easing too and see above re: Arnica!

barbie - ah! the nearly 4-month growth spurt! There are tonnes of pages devoted to it on here and on the really usefull kellymom site. One thing they all suggest as does the Baby Whisperer is once baby gets to 4 months, try to space out 7am-7pm feeds to 4-hourly so they take more and knock on affect is they sleep longer during the night. You are doing marvellously with Devon

Talking of which curly - give yourself a break honey, no honestly please don't get so upset. I have so been in your slippers and have felt a failure so many times when Isaac wouldn't stay asleep! I kept it up though, the shoosh patting and PU/PD and it does work and what you all get out of it is a happy predictable contented baby which has the knock on affect of a happy contented happy mummy and daddy . I've used what I learned the hard way with DS1 with B now and he has taken to naps and night time sleep so much quicker. So by the time you have your DC # 2 you'll be so slick at it all .

MLS - up until 10.45pm AND housefull today - get thee to a couch pronto . how are you feeling in general aches and pains and SPD wise?

Vjay - I'll txt you our address later this evening so you can auto router us .

monkeybodenlover - its so unfair having good looking gynaecologists!! So glad everything seems OK and you are good to go for next month. We will all be here holding your hand through the POAS, BFP, early scans, the whole shebang x Did you get anything from Boden for your little man? I loved the blue and red striped cardigen in the baby section for B...

Neeko - I know we've txt'd lots re: bottle but just want to give you a hug and empathise with how bloody hard it is for them to take it... Enjoy having a break from it all. We need to arrange a wee Glasgow rendezvous over summer...

LBM - how are things with you? How's the scar? I felt alot easier after 3 weeks with both sections..

Iggy - not long now!! Have you done any more house hunting? I think you're having a boy BTW .

mermaid - cooeee, where are you? How was your holiday?

Gracie - how was the christening?

I started to wean Ben last night! Jusy did it on a whim as we were all having dinner and he was sitting on his bouncy chair looking totally fed up and eye balling my every mouthful so I whipped out a mini stars yoghurt and he scoffed the lot . Steamed some pears this morning and he scoffed them after his 11am bottle. Off to Tesco and bought some baby rice, sweet potato and lots and lots of apples. Blending and bib days are back

VJay · 10/06/2010 07:06

Morning, an early start this moning, DS1 came into me at 6.20 all washed and dressed and ready for school , but he's on a school trip this morning so have had to change him, but he did get lots of kisses and hugs for the effort

justshaggy parecetomol (sp?) is fine I'm sure, but you're hopefully feeling better now

cupcake and 4ever sorry to hear you're both suffering a bit, but still for you both and your beautiful bubbas

barbie love your boobie barbie moment

monkey my pom poms are a ready,am very excited for you but can feel your nervousness too, we are all here to help you through step by small step

mls hope you got some much needed rest last night.

blue will text you in a bit, am looking forward to the meet up

Busy day today, hairdressers, doggy to vets for a check up, shirts to change.....

(lurk) Am still about, just recovering from major dentistry!

Hugs for all. xxx

ThePFJ · 10/06/2010 11:42

I have decided not to try too hard this month (yeah right), although I will be dragging DH to bed from Monday 14th onwards. I think my body may be trying to tell me its not ready.. or it may be building up to the BFP I really want... so we'll see!
I think DH was being extra grumpy because he was really disappointed too.
Am sorting out Jack's toybox today and his books, as Grandad has been to the carboot and sent him a truck load of bob the builder toys! My living room is already a giant toybox without all that, so its time to heave ho some toys upstairs to what will be Jack's bedroom and make some space!!
Jack can now count to 10 and say his abc's. He of course mispronouces everything but he's trying so hard to talk to mummy and daddy its adorable.

I got my tooth crowned yesterday and was in major pain with that all day and last night, thank gods it has settled down, or I would have been back to the dentist to have the whole tooth dragged out!
When she was putting in the crown she managed to ping it onto my tongue and I almost swallowed it! She was mightily relieved when I spat it out for her! It's a gold crown and she said her last patient sold his to cash for gold and expected a new one from her... and she refused to do another one! Aren't people funny?!
I have told Jack that mummy has a golden crown now, so she must be a Queen. Daddy said I was a princess but I said I am too old and long in the tooth for that one!

Anyway I am rambling now!

Cupcake I hope you are loving your beautiful new baby. I am so happy and jealous for you! Well done again... I ahve been thinking about you lots and how lucky you are. Like I said to Vjay record ALL these moments as much as you can. I adore watching baby videos of Jack, it never comes back again.

Hugs to all. xxx

barbie1 · 10/06/2010 13:09

aaarrrrrgggghhhhhh

my filling that i had done to fill in the gap after root canal has just fallen out leaving a gaping hole...just read thepfj post and now i feel sick!

Typical that dh is working til 9pm and everything closes on fridays so i have an emergency appointment which means leaving D with a friend, major stress, as she wont take a bottle from anyone but me, its her tetchy time and she is still cluster feeding..the logistics just dont add up! what to do....arrrggggghhhhhh

Im hoping they can do a rush job and just fill the hole until i have the full crown treatment done.....

Back later xxx

loueytbg · 10/06/2010 14:16

I'm sorry for the me post but having a v crap
day. Had a long appointment with paediatrician and speech therapist who have diagnosed Isaac with autism . Even though I'm not that surprised I'm still absolutely gutted and v teary. Am currently on way into work as I also have a dentist appt this evening and it's next to the office. (must be something in the air with all of us going to dentists at the moment ).

I'm now worried that DH won't want to ttc again, just as things were back on track and ironically my opks turned up this morning. Paed is going to refer us to a geneticist and said we may need to be tested in case we are thinking of having any more children. I know that is really selfish but I still can't imagine not having another one and it feels like it's all been taken away again. Don't want to bring it up with DH as I'm afraid I won't like the answer.

Sorry for lack of personals - will try and get back on tonight

ThePFJ · 10/06/2010 15:10

crikey barbie and louey... we must be sharing the same horoscope or something this week... or the same tooth fairy!! good luck... sympathy and cuddles for you both... I hate tooth ache so much...

louey Major hugs about Isaac today. You must be officially gutted. I have brownies and I have tea here if you need a friendly ear. I could say 'at least Isaac will be getting the very best of help now, and the best start he can from all this' but its not going to help.. so I'll shut up.

back to the toybox.....
hugs all xxx

CurlyBigPants · 10/06/2010 15:12

Well I'm back. DH is off work so I am mooning around having a lovely lazy day

Thanks all for the words of encouragement on trying to get the little monkey to sleep. It seems to be hardest at this time (we've given up after 40 mins two days running), so DH is in there now doing it, to save my tears Overall it is going well though. For her first nap and at night she is going down within 10 mins, though usually needs resettling a few times. She has taken to waking at 5:30am though which once would have been bliss but now seems horrendously early! It makes such a difference when she has good sleeps so we'll persist, even if I can't bear to hear her so upset.

I'm really sorry to hear that 4ever and cupcake are having a hard time with physical recovery. I think the worst thing can be just not knowing if and when things are going to heal. I'm so glad you are enjoying Summer and Jude so much though - what beautiful babies. I'll always think of them as baby4ever and babycakes though Make sure you have lots of help and if I have one piece of advice, do what I didn't do - and keep a diary. I only started mine at about 3 months and I've forgotten so much already. The pregnancy is so slow but the babyhood whizzes by

I've been thinking a lot about you monkey. You looked amazing in those photos and your little boy is so beautiful. I totally melted about the necklace. You sound happy but I'm sure things are still up and down sometimes, please don't keep it in and if you need to talk we are here. Try not to worry about the AF, btw I find that Acidopholous and garlic from your local pharmacy are miracle workers for thrush. I hope your gorgeous gynae has reassured you and I am so excited that you will be ttc again. Please allow us to obsess on mission getupduffed on your behalf. We have begun this journey together and we won't stop until you have a lovely new baby who is driving you mad by not sleeping

And mermaid thank you for the text lovely. How did the hols go? Is there any change with the golfer after your last MC or do we need to go out and find you a decent doctor? Should I stop nagging?

lbm how is the lovely babyj? I am still melting at that picture with the bunny rabbit. She sounds like such a lovely little girl. Are you getting much sleep?

neeko how is the battle of the bottle going? How is dd1 liking being a big sister? Does she like the new nursery? I can't believe that your little one is 10 weeks old now

sabs how is little Saara? thankfully it has got a bit cooler - though I miss the sun - curlygirl hasn't coped well in the heat though I'm sure they get used to it.

iggy how are you enjoying the count down to mat leave? Has the nesting started? Can we start the sweepstake on you yet?

pfj Hope tooth is feeling better. Yay for new plans to ttc. this could be THE ONE!!! Glad dh is forgiven as we sorta need him for the ttc Lovely post about ds - he sounds adorable

mls I can't believe you did an hour and a half of pupd. I am such a wimp. DH is still in there now, 35 mins later and she has only just started to calm down How is the shopping going? I love lists btw I reckon you're having a boy and iggy is having a girl

gracie how did the christening go? thanks for your lovely text. It really helps that you and me and barbie seem to go through the same stuff at the same time. Have things got any easier for you?

moon my lovely how are you doing? I hope this babytalk isn't too hard on you. Your turn is going to come soon, it's so unfair that it has taken so long. Is it time to get the pompoms out for you and jools? I think we need to get started on your wedding planning again too. Having watched sex and the city, I want to do the hen weekend in morocco!!

jools Is work still crazy? What's the update on ttc this month?

vj I'm still thinking about your cupcakes!! Can you post the recipe? I made banoffi yesterday Did you and blue meet up? Total melt at your ds1 coming in this morning

justshaggy fingers and everything crossed for you that this month we get a bfp. hope you are feeling better. Paracetemol is fine to take I think. lol at your dh thinking that you asking MN when to do the deed is funny. Just wait till he finds us all in the bedroom doing our cheerleading routine

kate how is your sisters friend doing? Has she spoken to her yet? I hope that she finds the support she must so desperately need

blue I loved the talk of matching shorts in Italy It's funny what we look forward to, I don't want to wish any time away but I do sometimes get excited imagining introducing curlygirl to some squirrels in the park. Well done on weaning Ben And thanks for the reassurance on pupd. How long did it take with ds1?

qa hope you feeling better? keep us posted on TTC. We will be busy with our pompoms this month Me and MLS want all the details so that she can don her white coat, and I'll put on my specs

louey I'm so sorry to hear about your news. And of course you are not selfish! I'm afraid I don't know a lot about autism but I'll swop you a hug for some of pfjs brownies. Is there any word on the application for your ds1?

barbie Hope they sorted you out at the dentists you poor love. thnaks for the text. I'm going to print out your post and keep it with me for my rubbish mum moments Hope you are getting some sleep. Have things calmed down with Devon? they are feeding monsters during growth spurts aren't they?

annie how are you doing my lovely and how are your gorgeous boys?

big waves and lots of love to hoping baking ginger lion buddha and the longlost mm xxx

Phew... I'm cream crackered now

justshaggy · 10/06/2010 16:22

thanks to all for the paracetamol advice. I think it helped keep a lid on my temps, but I still hit 39'c last night and was advised to see emergency doc to be checked out. Was told by them that all I should do was keep up with the para, which will suppress temps while my body fights whatever it is off. It certainly seems to do that because every time it wears off my temp spikes again. I feel gutted though; if I had a small bun in the oven at 3dpo then I can't believe that it wouldn't have been seriously overcooked by this. I am NEVER sick like this. DH so concerned he took time off work to look after me. Back for a proper catch up when I leave bed. All the best to you all. x

barbie1 · 10/06/2010 16:32

Our poor thread everyone is poorly sick!

My tooth has been filled, was told i need the crown done but cost over 1000 pounds might try to get it done when back in the uk...little d was fine, in fact she was so worn out by the babysitters she went to be with no fuss at 6.30!

justshaggy poor you, i really hope you feel better soon, stay in bed and be looked after by dh.

leouy another one in need of a hug today, i dont know what to say to make you feel any better, just that we are here for you to rant/ cry/ stress or whatever else you need to do. Im sure it will all work out in the end.

I will write a proper post tomorrow but for now im going to suck on some dinner and get some sleep while dh is still at work, who knows what time ill be up tonight?

Love to you all x

barbie1 · 10/06/2010 16:33

Anyway love to you all lap top running out of power

barbie1 · 10/06/2010 17:12

bakingqueen Come and see me!!!!!
What kind of things do you like doing? Desert safari is good for a evening, you go in jeeps and get thrown around over the dunes, see the camels and then have a meal in a tent in the desert with belly dancing...Atlantis is fab! as long as you like water parks, you have to go to the new dubai mall just to marvel at the sheer size of it, then you can see the worlds largest mall with the largest candy store next to the largest fish tank and then go out side to watch the largest water fountain! Souk madinate in the evening is very pleasant. I could go on and on...how long are you coming for? there is a book called the entertainer which is about 40 pounds and is full of buy one get one free vouchers for food, days out etc...in fact just by going to atlantis you make your money back. If you want you can email me and i can tell you loads more, i can give you my mobile too....and if you decide you want to do something i can book for you. Im strangely really excited!!!

VJay · 10/06/2010 17:16

curly that was a lovely long post, the cupcakes were from Fay Ripleys family food recipe book, there are some really nice things in there, will post the recipe soon. I am meeting up with blue on Sunday

Sorry to all those having teething problems.

louey sorry to hear about Isaacs diagnosis, as you know my DS1 is on the spectrum too, so if you want to chat anytime I am here . After the diagnosis with C we were in shock and upset, but it does get easier as time goes on. Even though it doesn't change them having a diagnosis, it does mean you can get help for them. If you want to talk to me privatly use my email on the emmsys web thingy that gracie has done, I am on the list

OP posts:
ThePFJ · 10/06/2010 17:34

Curly just wanted to say, I love the way you said 'WE kinda need my DH for ttc..' I feel so pleased that you all see this as a team Emmsy's effort!

Gotta go, am cooking for DH's boss and his girlie... argh
