Liking the sweepstake... Nobody think I will be on time then?!

I had an appt yesterday, baby not grown any bigger, but all fine so no longer on large side, is back down to being average or slightly below.. The consultant thinks I will have had it by next fri... But is all guesses, so we will wait and see..

VJay · 17/07/2010 16:22

Hi, I've not had a proper read through sorry. My wee dog was put to sleep yesterday . We have buried him in the garden. DS1 was so brave, he asked me what he looked like, so I said just the same, but he wasn't sure, so he bravely looked at him and gave him a stroke . Lots of tears last night, and lots of wine. We all feel a bit better today and have been talking all about him. He was a much loved doggie and will me very much missed. Thanks for all your thoughts, you are all so fantastic

Hey barbie how you doing hon?

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 16:40

Im sat here really really hormonal vjays dog has me in tears, dh having to stay away for another week had me in tears, talking to my sister on skype had me in tears......you get the picture! Im on the week 'break' from the pill and i feel weird, some more spotting but as you have just read im really tearful is this normal? Dont want to feel like this for a whole week every month????

4ever the experiments are going ok, formula before bed is the way to go! She has for some reason bought her bed time forward by an hour so is fast asleep by 6.30...through til one, and then up again about 4.30 (on a good night)
I just cant seem to keep her awake long enough to go to bed at 7/ 7.30 as before. Maybe its because im tired too and its easy to go with what she wants.
Im still about this dreaming feed thingy...i tried once but it woke her up and then she still woke at 1am anyway!
Also how would i prepare a formula feed? I want to go to bed at 8pm and dont want to have to come down and boil a bottle yada yada yada....will a flask keep the water @ 70 degrees???? (im a stickler for guidelines!)

D is five months on wednesday!!! one more month before weaning begins, im very excited
4ever with regards to weaning, im told it doesnt matter on the size of the baby, its all to do with the gut being mature enough to cope. A 6 month old's gut is...apparently
Again im sticking to the guidelines, even though D loved the pear i would never forgive myself if in later life she developed food intolerances, diabetes or obesity (yes i know they are all probably rare...but)
I guess D is my pfb!

Right it's 7.30 and nearly my bed time, night all.....

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 16:40

hi curly im fine, and you???

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 16:42

ahhhh you have twisted my arm, ill stay up a little later tonight

vjay wine...yum, not had any since

1 year and 6 months ago

hang on what am i on about?? i hate wine.....archers though is yummy!

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 16:42

anyone still there????

mermaidspurse · 17/07/2010 16:43

vjay oh lovely I am so sorry and your poor ds. It is heart rending to see them go through losing a best buddy. My ds said goodbye and stroked the cat and I think it is brave and helps them to see them all peaceful and just asleep. Masses of thoughts to you all.xxx

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 16:45

mls oh wise mummy have you come across anything while on your internet/ parenting magazine travels to help with my little problem???

D keeps pinching my boobs while feeding...and scratching, even with short nails she bloody hurts. My boobs are bright red and very sore. I try to hold her hand so she stops but she is a feisty strong willed little madame and nothing stops her...Im going to have to tape something over them in a minute!

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 16:46

waves to mermaid
Just read nice weather is coming your way next week, enjoy!

CurlyBigPants · 17/07/2010 16:55

big hugs barbie xxx are you site you are meant to take a weeks break with the pill? I thought you were on the minipill like me! As for the sleeping thing you have my sympathy! Curlygirl will do half hour naps only now!

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 16:58

oh shit dear, i have no idea if im meant to take a break??? i threw away the instructions, been ages since i tool the pill so just did what i did last

D is having 3 x 45 mins sleep in the day, but they are a struggle at the moment, she would rather be blowing raspberries! how is curlygirl sleeping at night???

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 16:58

how can i find out about the pill????

runs of to google....

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 17:00

im not meant to take a break!!!!! no wonder i feel like crap! good job dh is away

loueytbg · 18/07/2010 11:36

Grrrrrr - I am so stupid. I wrote a long post last night and obviously pressed preview instead of post. Will try again....

vjay I'm so so sorry about your dog and bless your DS1. My PILs planted a lovely shrub over their dog's grave and it always reminds them of him.

pfj how are you feeling??? There are lots of sore throat bugs going round so it could be that. I had one last wk and lots of my friends have had laryngitis. Try and have as much duvet time as you can.

blue hope you had a fab time at the wedding and I bet you looked like a bronzed goddess

barbie funny lady - i did laugh about your pill story. Sorry DH is away for another week - it must be tough. Hope it cools down enough that you can get out of the house. Re weaning - don't get too hung up on the 6 months point - it's not as though they magically change at 6 months and 1 day. It's not going to make a massive amount of difference if you start a bit earlier and if she's not ready then you don't have to start at 6 months. You only give the very tame foods at the start and it's a while before you get onto things that might cause a reaction (ie wheat and dairy)

iggy can't believe the dr thinks babyiggy will be here by Friday how exciting (but if you could hold off until Saturday it would be much appreciated as that is my guess on the sweepstake ) What was Harriet Harman doing doorstepping you??? Nothing that exciting happens around here...

mls hope the jetlag isn't too bad and you had a lovely time. Sounds as though it was hot! I don't want you to feel that you can't post on here about your PG - you've had such a rough journey to get here.

4ever poor S - its so scary when they get ill but as the others have said they just do that sometimes and you don't know why. It certainly had nothing to do with being out all day shopping.

cupcake J sounds bliss and you sound so proud of him. So lovely to read your posts. How exciting you are going to be a bridesmaid!! Hope you get to choose a fabby dress - we will want to see pics

mermaid you have not lost the art of posting at all. It's lovely to have you back. [shcck] at the jellyfish story

jools hope you are having a very relaxing weekend after that mega-week. Is work likely to ease up soon?

choccie have still got hopes for this cycle as I've been stalking your chart and it's looking good. I think you just have to take it a step at a time. Getting the fertility appt is sensible as the waiting lists are pretty rubbish and you can always cancel when you get knocked up

Waves to Neeko and sabs and all the other Emmsys out there. Talking of which - where is Gracie??

SIl is staying with us this weekend and DS2 is hyper beyond belief. On the way to the zoo at the moment.

Aw lovely Vjay family.. So sorry about your doggie Big hug to you and your brave boy X

VJay · 18/07/2010 14:58

Thankyou for all your lovely thoughts

louey we went out yesterday to buy a plant or something to plant over him, but couldn't find anything we liked. For now we have popped a stone hedgehog on top as he used to chase them at our old house and caused all sorts of mischieve in the early hours of the morning

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 18/07/2010 16:29

vjay am so sorry about your doggie xx

louey well I have an appt on Friday, so unsure I will be allowed to wait... But guess I might be... Would rather he/ she arrived before then tho

can I just say, in a non- grumpy way, that if I put something on facebook, I don't nescessarily want it mentioned on here? Can we keep them separate? Cos I'd rather people I know can't make the connection if they happen to come on here? Would be v. Much appreciated. Xx

barbie1 · 18/07/2010 16:32

louey the pill story wasnt meant to be funny!!! Just seems that whatever i do turns into a drama ...im going to start re taking it again tonight and i will remember not to take a break this time next month....doh!
As for weaning, what you said makes sense! Of course she wont be any different at 6 months i guess the problem being is that i havent really got anyone here to talk to, unless i want to pay £70 a time to see the mid wife...so i just come on here or google
By the time dh gets home she will be just 2 weeks shy of 6 months (where did that time go????) so we will give it a go then, the thing is i know she will eat everything, she grabs the spoon and tries to feed herself already
Hope you had fun at the zoo!

vjay bless your dog and the stone hedgehog, how is your ds today? i know its early days but would you consider getting another dog, not saying that this one can replaced of course.....hope you are ok and that you did get a headache from all the wine

curly thankgoodness you were there last night to say about the pill, i think i would of just carried on doing the same thing every month or given up with the pmt and gone back to the coil...you have potentially save me getting my fanjo out thankyou missis...

Nothing new here, just trying to get through each day as painlessly as possible...D has been talking to daddy on the phone and is so funny what dh talks to her, she tries to turn around to find him! We are officially crawling now, did i tell you i thought i lost her while on the phone to dh? she was on the floor on her mat, turned away for a minute and she was gone she had managed to back her way under the sofa!!!
Ill be getting reins for her before long....

Hope you all had a good weekend, pfj it's nearly monday so you will feel better soon

barbie1 · 18/07/2010 16:38

vjay i hope you didnt get a headache
i really should read through before i post

hi iggy...how dare you demand us to keep quiet re facebook of course we will!... how are you? Hope you are enjoying your last week of freedom!
