Hi all. I'm sorry I don't have time to do a proper read and catch up - snowed under with work. My inability to do proper personals is partly why I've been staying away.

Update: I haven't got my test results yet - its a week on but I just can't bring myself to go in. but might give DH a letter and ask him to get them for me.

I have another test tomorrow - AMH, not offered on the NHS so we've made a private appointment - and I'm almost literally sick with dread over that one too. DH has persuaded me we will probably need it down the line anyway so may as well get it done now.

We also discovered yesterday that we'll only be offered a fertility clinic appointment possibly in Sept, and we've been on the list for nearly eight weeks already. And we only got on the list because DH and I ganged up on our GP with me nearly weeping in the surgery begging for referral.

I woke up early yesterday morning with gut churning stress and was very weepy. I am honestly not one to make a melodrama out of things but the strain of everything is taking its toll more than I realised possible.

VJay · 15/07/2010 13:42

Sorry cupcake I missed you then, i think seeing your gp maybe the route for piles. Don't worry about having sex either, you've had such a lot of healing to do down there so just take your time. We were 5 months before we jumped on that old wagon again, we were too bloody knackered before then

choccie huge hug to you, and don't worry about personal posts, just post about you so we can support you in any way we can.

mls when are you back?

hello lovelies

Gosh it's hard being practically a single parent (hat's off to anyone who is one, its bloody hard work) Dh has just called and it looks like his trip has been extended meh to all things ship related.
Im ok, tiring being the only caregiver for 12 constant hours every day, but im enjoying it Still havent got around to trying a dream fed yet, im liking going to be at 8pm too much to get up and try it

Winning battle of the bottle...160 ml this evening and didnt have to do too much boob/ bottle swopping.

Still only getting two wake up's so looks like things are on the up. I agree with the poster who said it looks like she is hungry tbh louey was it? The more i get down her before bed the longer she sleeps so i agree she was just waking up in hunger...and nope, not weaning yet. I'm to chicken after reading the reasons why you should wait until 6 months....only four more weeks

Anyways enough about me...

mermaid a kitten? i must of missed the post where you said you had one...will you post a pic? i love little ikle kittens

pfj hope you are well, has the bleeding and pain stopped now?

Oh darn, i have an incoming skype call....have to dash, will be back later xxx

ThePFJ · 15/07/2010 21:12

Thanks cupcake, barbie, vjay and blue... xxxx

Ok so I have been stabbed repeated by doctors and specialists this morning to get blood out of me... as per usual my veins didn't want to join in the fun... In the end someone sent for 'The Butterfly' and a main artery vein was attacked. Was a trifle painful but I was glad to get out of there.

My glands have gone barmey and I think I have caught tonsilitus from the hospital on Monday. I always get homesick when I get that and now I seriously need my mummy... so I have dosed up on beechams and whatever I can get my hands on to feel better! Typical isn't it?

Called back the hospital at 7pm this evening and my hormones are now at 20. A massive dive in the downwards direction which is what I expected really... but thats it then. Definately a no-hoper this time round. Seems really final.

...

Don't know what to say really in case I start crying so I am off to find chocolate and some comedy to watch in bed.

XXX

4everhopeful · 16/07/2010 01:55

Just did huge post on phone & lost it! Wanted to let u all know am still here after my strop lurkin daily on pho like cupcake (also sharing the piles!) Thank you to all for being understanding & for the lovely tx, i love u girls! Promise will blow cobwebs off pc & do big personals catch up next week! (Havin 'welcome to The world bbq for Summer on sat!) In awe of fab post from mermaid who iv missed! ... Just must say massive hugs & deeply sorry to Pfj ditto all mermaid said.. ..Im laying here staring at S as she was repeatedly sick earlier about 10 times after her feed, i was covered in sick the poor sausage & its left me proper freaked out.. Could of been; cos we were out shopping with my mum all day? Bottles/ff dispenser not as sterile as was, as out for ages? Bottom of ff tin? Water bottle a few hours old? She slept for a bit & had another feed (only half her usual 5oz, which she sometimes does now cos of booby snacks) and she seems alright since, but im scared to take my eyes off her to sleep, even tho this was about 8pm & im now a weebly worried mummy!

ThePFJ · 16/07/2010 09:29

4ever - hope your little sausage is better this morning... If my Jack did that at that age I'd be just as worried. But I do remember things like that happening sometimes and me freaking out over nothing!

iggypiggy · 16/07/2010 09:36

pfj I remember my glands coming up right after my mc, think is cos it makes you so run down. Poor you thinking of you lots.

cupcake I was v emotional about you having your little one, think is def cos we started out together! You are lovely

blue thanks for the walking/ bouncing advice! Am going to have bounce now while I listen to the hypnobirthing stuff!

4ever I hope S is ok, I can't help with advice, but I guess they often get sick when they are so new because they don't have the immunity yet? So hope is just something v minor.

Much love to all.

Xxxx

mermaidspurse · 16/07/2010 09:55

no iggy no bouncing, no sex, no curry and no pineapple.

pfj maybe get some floradix good for getting some iron in you.

4ever I hope you are ok and get a few zzzzzz's. poor little s sometimes they just get a bit sick, I can remember ds being a bit sicky around the same time. Big soft tummy rubs for her.x

iggypiggy · 16/07/2010 10:07

mermaid sorry, I have a big baby here... Can't be waiting for 5th Aug - how are you? Xx

4everhopeful · 16/07/2010 11:06

Thanks girls! Summer hopefully seems ok now, she had 2 more uneventful feeds, just brought a little bit up after last feed, which can be fairly normal.. It really freaked me out last night though, as was literally repetitive, about 10 times or more over half an hour! Im now thinkin its to do with the bottom of the ff tin, or cos bottles had been sterilised hours b4 as we were out.. I did not sleep all night tho! Just watched her, got 2hrs from 6til8am! ...back for personals asap as promised, but shaking pom poms at Iggy - i say 22nd July, my nans birthday! X

VJay · 16/07/2010 11:29

Morning, I'm keeping myself very busy today, doggy's appointment is tonight.

4ever glad to hear S is ok now, I remember Ajay doing a big projectile vomit once, scared the crap out of me, but it seemed to be a one off, no reasons as to why, hopefully that's what S's is

blue enjoy your wedding , we have one at the beginning of August, hotel booked for the night, and I'm so looking forward to it .
As for telling Cjay about the dog, we will wait and see what happens tonight, then dh will sit down have a chat with him. It's all the questions and discussions that come afterwards that I'm dreading, but I think honesty is the way to go, not that 'he's gone to a farm' or anything

iggy hope you are bouncing as I type, come on babyiggs

pfj it is so final isn't it , I remember when I had my mc just praying that they'd got it wrong and I was still pg, even though I knew there wasn't a hope that I was, but you can't help searching for that glimmer. Stay strong and get well xx

Morning mermaid, what are you up to today?

barbie how's the hokey cokey going

Right I'm not even dressed yet, Ajay is napping and Cjay is wiiing, so I'm off for a shower, then food shopping

mermaidspurse · 16/07/2010 12:15

vjay it is really hard with kids and beloved pets but I think they can be very stoic about it in a way that only kids can. when the cat popped his clogs ds wouldn't talk about it and still now is very upset. It also helped massively recently too awful to see pets as a tool for learning how to grieve but I think it is true.
with your ds autism, you no doubt know how he will cope, it is horrible I am so sorry for your poor dog.xx
ds liked helping with the grave and choose things to put in the box, they had been doing egypt btw, so our cat got buried with a mushroom and a dalek to look after him.

aww igg come on I'll split my winnings with you. May have to start early on names then

iggypiggy · 16/07/2010 12:32

vjay am so sad to hear about your doggie, I hope vet visit is as ok as it can be. I love mine so much that I know I will be terrible...

Oh yes, and I was asking about you the other day, not you vajayjay

mermaid I really do hope that you are wrong about the date

bluesatinsash · 16/07/2010 13:21

Quickie while B sleeps and before we head out to soft play...

mermaid - mushroom and dalek? but at the same time..

Vjay - will be thinking of you and Cjay xx

4ever yay! you're back . So sorry to hear little S has been sick - literally. One tip I would give is to keep water and formula separate on days out. i.e. make up the bottle with water but measure out and keep powder in on of the dispensers you can buy (are you using TT as they do them, we used them for night feeds..) When time comes for feed, add powder, heat up bottle (most cafes etc. would give you hot water et voila!

HTH.

eek! babyben awake, laters!

Iggy - bounce, bounce, bounce..

ThePFJ · 16/07/2010 15:50

Thank goodness iggy it's good to know that someone else has had glands come up. Mine are so painful and I feel really really ill today.... I can't wait for Monday. I have decided I will feel much better on Monday.

nods sagely

goes back to sleeeeeep

xxxx

Joolsiam · 16/07/2010 16:42

Delurking as I have a spare second !!

Just missed the lovely Mermaid on that Facebook chat thingie that I can't work, so thought I'd come and say hello.

PFJ - my thyroid gland was really swollen and painful after one of my MC's - felt like I had a permanent sore throat and my neck was really stiff. Sods law, it had pretty much gone by the time I got a GP appt. Think it is very normal. Hope you are feeling better soon, and I echo the recommendation for some sort of iron supplement.

Vjay - thinking of you and poor poor doggie have been in this situation twice with much loved cats and it is always so hard.

On the subject of baby chat - I love hearing about it, just don't really have any experience to add, so please keep going For some reason, I struggle to listen to people with PG woes, but once baby has arrived, the TTC jealousy monster seems to subside, and of course it doesn't apply to anyone here any way

I think I managed a 66 hour week this week - eeek. Absolutely exhausted - logging off now (feeling rebellious !) and off to pack for the weekend, do a bit of shopping then join DP in our local for a bit of light relief. Off overnight to big BBQ ooop North tomorrow.

I think I ovulated 2 days late - just proves my theory about CP / MC last cycle. Missed the boat though - DP failure to do the necessary, so this stress free 2 week wander through a fragrant meadow, full of healthy weight loss snacks and exercise, so I'm fit and healthy for next month - I do wonder if having got a bit more flabby than normal had an effect ...

Have a good weekend everyone

mermaidspurse · 16/07/2010 18:00

delurk that is a great expression and you young lady are a techno wizard if I can work that stupid facebook thing then anyone can. Have a fabby weekend.

vjay so hoping all is as ok as possible with your poor dog and ds.xx

pfj I think I remeber having swollen glands under my armpits and what felt like a nasty fluey cold. Just remember the bullet points.

blue yeah to a tantastic weekend away, enjoy.

MummyLovesSadie · 16/07/2010 22:09

I'm back. Feeling v-e-r-y tired.

Cupcake please don't apologise for anything you may have said during your pregnancy. There is really no need. Look at me now, fat & happy & I truly believe that each of the small panters will be in the same position within the next few months. On the subject of piles, I still have mine 3 years down the line ! Mine don't hurt though, they just bleed. I know I'm going to have to get them sorted out at some point but I just can't face the though of an op on my bot-bot! When you say your body is back to normal, does that include your tummy? If so then ! Tonight I couldn't believe that Stacy from 'Enders has a flat tummy again, 4 weeks after giving birth - not realistic & certainly not fair!

Vjay sorry to hear about your little doggy. I'm sure your ds1 will surprise you with his strength & move you by saying something touchingly honest.

4ever try not to do your own head in too much with the reason why your dd was so sick. Sometimes babies are sick for no apparent reason. I can count on one hand the amount of times my dd has puked in all of her (nearly) three years but when she vommed as a baby there would be SO MUCH of the stuff & it would come out of her like she was in a horror film!

Iggy tell us what baby stuff you have bought recently because you said a few weeks ago that you'd hardly bought anything! I bought the 1st toy for my baby while we were away. It's an octupus made from socks, it's predominantly pink - that's how sure I am that I'm having a girl !

Blue I'll text you if I hear any news! Enjoy the wedding.

Neeko I too have been a Monica today - why does your house always look so dirty when you come back from holiday? I changed the sheets first thing this morning & then the three of us jumped into bed for four hours sleep [bliss emoticon] then I spent 3 hours blitzing the kitchen, bathrooms & doing dusting. Now I'm back, glad we can now go back to unbridled texting!

Right, that's about all from me folks. I feel almost too tired to sleep.

4everhopeful · 16/07/2010 22:45

Welcome back mls! Hope u had a great time! I always have to renest & mark my territory on return from hols too! Thanks for input on S! Its just a worry isnt it? ..... Welcome back Jools too! You work too hard woman! ..... Mermaid absolute melt at your Ds and the dalek looking after the cat! ....Vjay i really hope your doggy is ok? I still miss my 2 all these years later.. Blue thanks sweetie, im already on it! Didnt leave the house til i had my Tomee Tipee powder dispensers & flask so i can make all my feeds up fresh when im out! I was just worried the bottles themselves may have got 'unsterile' as had been out several hours! I always take a bottle of cooled water for her too so its a quick fix if she needs one, so also thought maybe was that.. Whats your thoughts mummys on how long an empty bottle is deemed sterile for (24hrs?), and how long cooled water in a bottle is good for? (8hrs?)

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 09:03

YAWN........

Goodmorning/ afternoon ladies

welcome back mls, looking forward to being nosy-- looking at your holiday snaps! I hope you managed to wind down and get some sleep after you blitzing the house on your return! Nutter!

vjay been thinking about you and your dog, dare i ask how it went? Hope you are all ok.

4ever hope S is better now, babies will get 'off' days some times, no real reason...maybe tired, hot, or just feeling a little off, much the same as adults. I agree though, its so worrying because they cant tell us if there is anything really wrong, so we do what all mothers do and sit and watch them for hours, forgoing our own sleep! I was the same after D had her injections....The formula at the bottom of the tin should still be ok, unless the tin had been open for more than 21 days....there is a huge debate on another thread about how to prepare formula...occur ding to the guidlines you have to put the powder in while the after is still about 70 degrees to kill off any bacteria so much to remember! Bottles stay sterile for 24 hours, one you have removed and assembled them (but again this info varies widely) As for the cooled water, if S drinks some then you have to give her the rest with an hour or throw it away. If she hasnt touched it i think the guideline is 6-8 hours. HTH

jools you work way way way too hard! Have a good weekend, did you manage to work out the fb chat yet???

iggy for what its worth i think...

mermaid

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 09:10

can i smell ? oh yes its blues tan have a fabby weekend!

cupcake depends on where abroad you go! You just have to do the same as you would at home, no different, just be more conscious of the sun and heat, make sure you have your normal formula if thats how you feed him (cant remember ) your baby will take a little while to adjust to the heat but might sleep more ...the plane journey is the bit you have to prepare for the rest is a doodle....Are you thinking of a holiday??? do share...

Right really must go now....

barbie1 · 17/07/2010 09:12

the water is 70 degrees doh!

Vjay hugs for your doggie.

(has a cat nap) xxx

4everhopeful · 17/07/2010 11:20

Hugs PFJ enjoy your cat nap & cuddles with Jack, go gently on yourself... Barbie fab tip about the cooled water, didnt realise if she drunk some it had to be used in an hour! Thankfully did know all the other stuff, & therefore i knew you meant 70degree water not after! Since having S I have repeatedly said how much i admire single mums, so hats off to you coping on your own girl! You sound like your doing fabulously, hows the routine experiments going? Id reckon D is hungry too as the bedtime Ff did the trick.. As for weaning, i really think it depends on their size, S is so big, strong & hungry, now 75th %tile (just very long & skinny), i think we may have to start earlier than 6m, whereas with a smaller baby like D was, id wait too.. Right better go, just havin sleepy cuddles with S, have been preparing for our bbq all morning, Dh & i get very excited & love to put on a big spread! We rarely host so go all out when we do! Its just family but still about 20 of them, tho about 7 of those are kids!
