...thanks to all the support we get in the greenhouse

littlebellsmum · 29/06/2010 21:19

MLS have a great holiday and John lewis do the sleepsuits with the built in mitts

Joolsiam · 29/06/2010 21:49

Thanks for the thoughts, but am sure I am out ...

Spotting got a lot heavier and turned into what must surely be an early MC (won't go into details) No feelings of AF, no cramps, no hormonal issues, just an AF type bleed with added clots. Boobs have shrunk - still sore on the sides though

AF wasn't due till tomorow and I can normally set my watch by its arrival, so something upset this cycle, and I can't have been imagining the cramps I was having on thursday night as they were really noticeable. Failed implantation I would guess.

4everhopeful · 30/06/2010 00:06

Oh Jools hate to hear your head being f'd with, so hard to know, before i got preg i had some awful heavy clotty aF, didnt allow myself to think the worst.. I agree with monkey we are due a fresh crop of bfp so look at this as 1st day of your next preg & discreetly pounce on Dp in 12 days! ... Boo to the pox poor B Blue! I too just did a nanny list of feed preparation for my trip to the hairdresser on thurs! Interested to read about stimulation for babes, S has winnie the poo lightshow with buttons that make noises & she presses them, is that exceptionally early? She also has a playmat & grabs things on it, & has got a thing about my hair already, even in her sleep she manages to grab a handful! Is she advanced then? ....Bless you re pics MLS finally sorted my email today so about time! I think the babygro with the mitts in pic was actually from sainsburys! They have some really cute bits! S has such long nails, have cut them twice already! At last weight check last week she was 10lb 2oz, 91st percentile! Its all length though! Shes a real longun, was 22 & a half inches at birth! So envious of your hol! When do you go? Whereabouts in Florida? My grandad lived out there.. Have a fab time & happy birthday for when your there! Better go its feed time now!

Neeko · 30/06/2010 08:22

Hi all. Going to try to catch up but know i'll miss people.

Jools Really sorry about the bleeding Know there's nothing I can say to help but thinking of you.

Louey hope your POAS went better today. We're off to here Went there 2 years ago and it was great. Only a couple of hours away too.

Barbie Boo to AF arrival. Bottle not going well here either. Tried a Doidy cup yesterday but think H will need a wetsuit first Sounds like you're doing great with D. Remember your voice and face stimulate her more than any toy. Just love her like you do and that's enough.

MLS Matalan also do those babygrows as someone gave them to H. They only lasted 5 mins though cos she's huge ! day to go. I like packing. It's the lists that does it

Vjay Yay for Ajay's tooth! Where are you holidaying to?

Blue well done for surviving the pox twice. Glad you're feeling ok about your return to work. A cup of tea in peace does sound nice...

Iggy Can't believe it's nearly your time. Excited for you. You don't need to post anything on here you're uncomfortable with.

Curly How's things with you?

4ever sounds like you're settling into being a mummy. at you already thinking of the next one though.

Cupcake Glad you're on the mend but really hope your next one doesn't fall out

Things are ok here. H was 3 months yesterday. She's very vocal and bossy I'm still finding the whole thing very hrad work due to lack of bottle and MIA DH but the next two weeks should help. Have decided that I will stop bf at 6 months and force ff if she still won't willingly take a bottle.
It's my b'day on Sun and we're having a BBQ and then our anniversary on Tuesday when we go on our hols so busy times ahead.

The milk monster's shouting. Love to all.

barbie1 · 30/06/2010 09:19

Hello

lbm firstly i wanted to say i nearly spat my juice out all over the computer when i read your post! I was very ealry and i was sleep but all i saw was the your dh was very grumpy with the lack of bottom action i though you were referring to.... (well in sure you can guess, i thought gosh isnt lbm rude! )
Sorry your little one is still having problems in that area, have you been to the docs? apparently some babies are born and there bum hole (tmi sorry!) is too small and it hurts like hell for them too poo...there is a simple thing the doctors can do to adjust this (dont know what it is, i was scared to ask...but they thought D had this problem at first) D was very much like your lo, from about 8 or 9 weeks it slowly sorted itself out. Good luck.

jools oh dear, i so so so want you to get a bfp. I wonder what your body is playing at this month? I hope it wasnt an early mc and just effects of medication or something? Stick with us and let us know how we can help, sending you lots of hugs and mini milks x

mls thankyou for the email
we have the gf book, the thing is we were into such a good routine before this bloody shitty sleep regression malarky, now its all gone tits up!
I cant follow gf as D cant stay awake for as long as she suggest and then she wont sleep longer than 45 mins at lunch time so buy 10am the gf routine is blown!
I keep her in bed til 7am
Feed, change, dress and then play on mat
8am she is ready for bed again....and so the routine follows.
We always follow the same bedtime routine as gf ie 6pm bath, feed and bed by 7pm.
I think im going to have to introduce a quick feed before bath time, least she is willing to take some and the top her up after the bath.
Tis a minefield this childcare
Enjoy your jolly holidays, relax and look after yourself.
ps, re sleepsuits with mits, we had some bought from mamas and papas, asda, tesco and matalans.

4ever i hope you dont think i was being bossy re the fan i just wanted to let you know what i had been told....thanks for your email, little miss summer is a stunner thats for sure!

neeko lol at the wetsuit, i so know what you mean! I can get D to drink from a bottle but then she gets bored/distracted/ realizes its not my boobie and then refuses. I give up! arggghhhhhhh
Dh is going to try this weekend. Im going to breast fed until maybe christmas, we hare going home and i think i will either try over there with help from my family or as soon as we get home as she might need it for comfort with all the changes.
As for af, it was only 2 days of nothiness??? not sure what is going on?

Dh has taken a day off today so i have an extra 1.5 hours in bed this morning, bliss! we have D 4 months injections today and thankfully daddy is here to take her (silly mummy emotion)

Oh and i worked out yesterday D is nearly 19 weeks already

Back soon x

loueytbg · 30/06/2010 10:17

jools am so so sorry it looks like AF after all . Its awful when you get your hopes up. At least you were sensible and didn't waste any tests (unlike me )

MLS did you find the speakers?? Went into the loft at the weekend and it was absolutely baking (hot air rises and all that...) Next also used to do babygros with built in mitts - may need to look in their catalogue though rather than in their shops. I'm using FRER so I know its not the tests that are the problem, more that I am not PG.

Neeko oooh that looks fab. I really hope you get to use the spa while you are there. It sounds like you really need a break and you never know, maybe a change of scenery will help H to decide to take the bottle after all.

4ever I haven't seen your email (I was only added to the list recently) but if you get a chance can you send it onto me. Would love to coo over pics of Summer .

LBM I had to read your post twice before I realised that you were talking about J's bottom and not some kinky sex thing with DH Hope the sports day goes well.

blue am v glad B has got a milder dose and hopefully you will have a pox-free household very soon. Hope the return to work goes well next week - enjoy the fact you can have a cup of tea/coffee in peace!

monkey did you get to watch the film?? The football was pretty rubbish so I hope you won the battle of the remote control.

barbie could she be teething??? I know its early but some babies get teeth that early. Tis a v personal decision about weaning. Re entertainment, we had those fold out soft books which we used to open out and stand on the floor next to them. Have no idea if they entertained them or not.

BFN again this morning Just want AF to turn up now as I feel really grotty and at least I can move onto obsessing about the next cycle.

loueytbg · 30/06/2010 10:19

X-Post barbie - glad it wasn't just me who read lbm's post that way

Hope the injections go ok, they are much more stressful on the parents than on the baby.

chocciechip · 30/06/2010 12:54

Having a sneaky lurk when I'm supposed to be finishing off a deadline project. Will do a proper catch-up later this week. jools and louey, so sorry to hear about AF and BFNs. Jools wondering if you chart? That might give you a closer insight into what's happening inside your body.

I have a different baby story: a little baby buzzard fell out its nest in my neighbour's garden. Fortunately, fairly well developed - I think maybe a week or two off fledging. Sadly, although its mum is hanging around and watching it doesn't look like she's feeding it, and we think the other chick in the nest might have died. Food shortages perhaps. So DH and I are going out on drives looking for road kill for our little surrogate (not easy for a vegetarian, but baby-buzz does LOVE a squashed baby-bunny ). And I had to buy frozen mice at a pet-shop the other day. It's been three days and I think baby-buzz is growing before my eyes ... but I can't find him/her today so am fretting a bit. Please wave pom poms for my baby-buzz.

VJay · 30/06/2010 13:32

I've had a quick catch up,

neeko looks like my dh is off the same two weeks as yours, it will be nice to see them won't it Have a lovely holiday

blue and neeko we are off the the Lake District and can't wait. Just the 4 of us, we might take the bikes too, it's a long time since I've been on mine, but apparently you don't forget how to ride one

barbie I started giving Ajay baby rice with breast milk when he was 17 weeks and noticed a difference quite quick, he was a lot more settled during the day with it

jools hope you're ok, so sorry af is here.

I too read lbms bottom story wrong

choccie I'm waving my pom poms for baby buzz

OP posts:
VJay · 30/06/2010 13:43

4ever I have just seen your email, Summer is just gorgeous

Have just caught Ajay standing without holding onto anything

OP posts:
MrsKate · 30/06/2010 15:24

hi all

hope everyone is ok

beautiful pics 4ever and cupcake

need to catch up xxxx

littlebellsmum · 30/06/2010 15:43

Well I can see how you could read it wrong but really! Surely you know me too well by now !!

loueytbg · 30/06/2010 15:54

choccie pom-poms out for your baby buzz. The idea of collecting road-kill for him makes me feel ill and I'm not veggie.

vjay huge clap for ajay he'll be running away soon....

4ever have just checked my spam folder and it appears your emails ended up in there. Naughty yahoo classing pics of baby summer as spam. Somehow I managed to move one of the emails from spam to my inbox but the other one has disappeared. Weird. Did manage to see one pic of Summer and she is soooo cute.

Waves to MrsKate and lbm

Forgot to say that we are dealing with night-time nappy removing at the mo. DS1 for some reason has decided he doesn't want to wear one. So waits until just before he goes to sleep and takes it off and then tucks himself back into bed. Have now grown wise to that and check him once he's asleep and put nappy back on again. However, clearly as soon as he's awake, it comes off again. Then having been dry all night, he stands at the gate to their room and wees all over the carpet (a lot of wee as you can imagine). Cue DS2 shouting "mummy, daddy, Isaac's doing a wee wee" There is a potty in their room and DH said to him this morning that he needed to do it in the potty and asked him where it was and DS1 duly pointed to it and said "wee wee in potty". Damn child is just playing us...

bluesatinsash · 30/06/2010 22:23

choccie your post made me well up a wee bit . Really hope your baby buzz is OK, what kind people you and your DH are .

Jools - . Just gutted again for you. I honestly think you have to 'carpet bomb' the egg any given month but you know that...

louey - if it makes you feel any better my 4 year old who was dry from 25 months during the day still wears pull ups at night . He has milk at bedtime and I just don't have the energy just now to do the inevitable night time changes when I'm still getting up to settle Ben... Sorry you got another BFN this morning...

LBM - I also at your bottom statement!!! I would go to docs just to reassure you that everything OK with J physically down there...

barbie - I also wondered if D was teething? *Annie's E got his first at 3 months! My SIL give her DD a split feed before and after bath and it works as her DD can't wait until bedtime..

Another baby toy suggestion - the Usborne 'That's not my...' books. Both DS's have loved them you get them in all shapes and sizes (that's not my dragon his tongue is too furry...) They're touchy/strokey feely - hell here's the link here We have the puppy/bunny/dragon/snowman ones . Also agree with lining books up around their play mat and stacking cups are great. The day they knock them down with their little hand

Ben has sneakily cut his first tooth (bottom left). He wanted a knaw on my knuckle yesterday and there it was shining through.

Vjay - have a fantastic time in LD - praying the weather is kind .

Neeko - your holiday resort looks just perfect. Really hope you all have a good break and you get pampered a little bit

MLS - thanks for clearing up school start! Yes in Scotland we start school at 5 or rather the intake is everyone who turned 5 from the March-Feb so the youngest you can be is 4 years 5 months.. DS1 will be one of the oldest having a June birthday but DS2 one of the youngest so may defer him (quite popular up here to defer the younger ones...) Have a fantastic time in Florida and high five mickey for me!

Really need to get to bed. Went back to gym tonight, back on fav cross trainer too . just really need to tone and build my strength up again as have had bad sciatica the past few weeks. Felt great afterwards, not so sure about tomorrow though...

night all x

loueytbg · 01/07/2010 15:21

Blimey its quiet on here today....

blue I forgot about those Usborne books, great recommendation. we've got loads of them and DS2 is practically reading them now Well done to B for cutting his first tooth. Hope you are not too stiff after your exercise last night.

MLS you are probably already on a plane but have a fabby time on holiday.

Hope the rest of you who are packing are not finding it too stressful.

jools thinking of you today. Hope you are not feeling too grim and that maybe work is taking your mind off things a bit.

Still the same here, BFN (using cheapie, don't want to waste another FRER just yet) but still have cramps, nausea, v tired. No spotting, just compulsive knicker checking. CD25 today and I will be officially late tomorrow although I don't know if/when I O'd. To say its playing with my head is an understatement .

Must go and do some work

iggypiggy · 01/07/2010 16:16

louey If it helps, I didn't get a BFP until after I was officially late... I got a load of BFNs first...

neeko that 3 months went fast!!! Hope you have a lovely holiday.

and now ajay is standing alone! vjay it also goes so fast...

lovely pics 4ever your little one is totally gorgeous!

jools am sorry to hear your news - hope you ok.

barbie any amusing anecdotes for us?!

Hope everyone else is ok?

I keep seeing pics of babies in hats... newborns I mean... I don't have a hat for mine - do I need one?! Seems so hot at the mo...

SabsFabulous · 01/07/2010 21:24

Hello ladies, its been very quiet on here lately. Where is everyone?! Enjoying the sunshine I hope!

iggy hope you're not feeling too uncomfortable in the heat.

louey I still have everything crossed for you.

blue Good luck for going back to work next week! And well done for going back to the gym, you superwoman!

lbm I wont mention the confusion about bottoms ! How did sports day go? Was J Ok in the heat?

vjay well done to ajay! Soon you'll be running round after him. I love it when babies do the waddle! Which reminds me, I was waddling a lot around this time last year

chocciechip How's the buzzard doing?

barbie Don't mean to scare you, but curly was telling me how there's also a 8 month sleep regression, which I think S went through recently. We're only now slowly getting back to her routine, but anything from weaning to teething to even crawling and general development can mess up their routine With regards to stimulation, if you sign up to babycentre, they send you an email each week and they give you ideas each week on what to do with the baby and what games to play. I find that S likes it when I take her to different rooms so she has a different environment. Even simple things like looking out the window and singing to her makes her laugh (I sing bad! ). I'm sure you know all these things anyway

neeko Happy birthday for Sunday and happy anniversary for Tuesday. Have a fab time on holiday. S also gets water everywhere when she uses the doidy cup, but her coordination is improving. All the babies I know including S prefer this cup to all others. We take it everywhere now for water when we're out and about

4ever thanks for sending the photo's through, she's a stunner

jools so sorry about the bleeding. Hope you still stick around. Sending lots of hugs

mls Have a fantastic time. I went to Florida in my late teens and I loved it. Are you going to the Harry Potter theme park? It would be my dream to go visit that

monkey I've been wanting to watch that film - is it the one that Sandra Bullock won an Oscar for?

mrskate hows Jack doing?

cupcake Loving the pic of you and Jude

curly still cant believe we met up last week! For those who asked, we didnt take any photo's, but I'm sure we'll meet up again soon (if curly wants to that is!) and we only live half an hour's car drive away, and curly lives in a very baby-friendly part of town so any excuse for me to go there again

Waves to everyone I've missed and apologies if ive missed any major news

Thanks to those who gave tips for S's teething. I have those Nelson's granules but they didnt have any affect last time I used them on her, but I used them the next night and she slept through so maybe it did work. She had a 5.30am start this morning, which is an hour and a half earlier than her normal start, but I think we're slowly getting back to her previous routine. Now I've written that, I bet I've jinxed it!

Saara turned 9 months yesterday , she is growing way too fast for my liking . I think I need to post an updated photo soon

I'm so excited about a potential meet-up in October! I go back to work in October but have Mondays off (thats if I still have a job to go back to - find out about that this month, fingers crossed) so I'm really hoping that meetup falls on a day that I can do!

Best be off, this was meant to be a quick catch-up!

P.S anyone else excited about Toy Story 3?

VJay · 02/07/2010 10:22

Morning, I am soooo not motivated there is just TOO MUCH to do, I haven't even got the suitcases down from the loft yet. SOMEONE KICK ME UP THE BUM

OP posts:
SabsFabulous · 02/07/2010 12:27

vjay here's a kick up the bum . When are you leaving. Btw I take back what I said about S and the doidy cup, she's poured water all over her clothes! Anyone else watching the tennis today? GO MURRAY

VJay · 02/07/2010 13:18

OUCH , thanks sabs, we leave tomorrow morning! I haven't got time to watch the tennis . I have now packed all the clothes so that's something, we will be clothed on our holiday

OP posts:
MrsKate · 02/07/2010 16:18

hi all

all is well with JD he is still sleeping through. hes turning into a really happy little baby hope it lasts lol.

Barbie i think JD is starating to teeth too everythng in month and red cheeks

barbie1 · 03/07/2010 17:11

Hello....gosh its so quiet! I guess everyone is on their holidays, lucky buggers

No time to post since wednesday as we took D for her 4 month injections poor little mite has been grumpy and clingy since, not her normal cheeky self. On the plus side she did only wake up twice the night she had them and has been wanting to sleep lots during the day.
She is teething too, so thats not helping her sleep routine.

Felt very proud when the new gp said she was perfect and advanced with all that she can do but then came crashing down when she said that there was no such thing as a 4 month sleep regression and she was just being naughty by not sleeping

I did follow her one suggestion and have stopped feeding her when she wake 2 hours after going down, now she has stopped waking at 9 and will wake about 11 instead.
Last night was a pita....4 wakes and wanting to use me to comfort herself.

Dh has said we need to adopt a tough love approach over the next few weeks...im just too weak!

Anyways enough about us, how is everyone?

vjay have a lovely holiday... mls ditto

sabs bloody tennis and the football hasnt been too much better has it! Hope saara is calmer now...im soooo not looking forward to the 8 month and then 12 month sleep regression (and yes i do still believe in them) D is trying to crawl, you might of seen the pics on fb, she can go backward but is getting super frustrated at not being able to go forwards. I have signed up for the emails, thanks

kate im that Jack is sleeping through, i only hope the teething doesnt knock it though...said my love to gg

chocciechip aw bless you at rescuing the bird, how is he/she doing?

blue thanks for the heads up re the usborne books...they are 12 pound each here but thankfully a friend who had a ds the same age is back in the uk and has been buying stuff for both children, including said books.

louey i too got bfp ages past af due date, in fact i had loads of bfn too, so fingers crossed you are still in with a chance. There was a thread a little while ago about somebodies ds who used to remove the nappy and smear poo all over himself in the end she had to sew him into the thing to stop him taking it off! Hope it stops soon x

iggy i dont think a hat is needed if its above 22 degrees outside, so fingers crossed the weather stays warm for you, have you bought anything else yet???

Barbie waves to everyone else, im too shattered to write anymore so im going to crawl onto the sofa and relax, speak to you all soon xxx

loueytbg · 04/07/2010 19:23

Hi all - I guess everyone is on holiday or enjoying the weather or sleeping (poor barbie)

barbie tough love is tougher on you than on her but it sounds as though it might be needed. Teething always throws things out too. Hope you get through it soon (just keep repeating, its just a phase....). Can't believe those Osborne books are £12 each

MrsKate so glad J is keeping you in mummy heaven.

Sabs congrats on Saara's 9 month birthday (they all matter ). Fingers crossed that her sleeping pattern stays that way.

iggy can't help with the hat issue as mine were March babies so had little hats then. It was such a rubbish summer that year, they didn't even need sun hats.

Neeko if you're still reading, I second sabs suggestion of the first cup. Best of all they are cheap.

Still in limbo-land here. CD28, no AF, still have cramps and bloated etc but BFN. Have no idea what is going on. Normal cycle is 24 days. Can't work out if I ovulated late or not at all. Do anovulatory cycles tend to be longer??? Might post in the conception forum to see if anyone else has had a similar problem. Am fed up because a week of cramps without AF is not fun and to boot I now have a sore throat. Bleurgh. At least the weather has been good.

monkeybumsmum · 04/07/2010 21:09

Yes, it is quiet isn't it! Lucky people being on holiday though!

Poor you Louey with still being in limbo. I really hope that it's resolved one way or another asap, it can't be much fun and the uncertainty is probably making you wonder about things even more. I would've though anovulatory cycles might be longer, but I'm not sure.
Oh no re DS1 weeing on the carpet! Have you managed to solve the nappy-taking-off yet?

Poor D Barbie after her jabs. And poor you with all the waking! You must be shattered. Dh and I tried to do the tough love thing when ds was tiny, and we did manage to stretch out the length of time he slept. It's really difficult though, as all you want to do when they cry is cuddle them! Good luck, and I hope it improves soon...

Hi MrsKate Glad all is well with JD All these babies starting to teethe hey - where does the time go to? Seems like they were only born yesterday!

Sabs That's good that S's teeth seem to be a little better. I can't believe that she's 9 months old already Wow! Hope you have good news re your job... How do you feel about potentially starting work again? I dreaded it with ds, but then when I did go back it was fine!
Yes, the film we saw was the one Sandra Bullock won her Oscar for - it's very good. Just amazing that somebody would do what she did in RL. It's quite thought provoking, in a good way. Also, yay re Toy Story 3 - I took ds to see it yesterday (his first ever cinema trip!) and it was really good! I cried at the end . We saw it in 3D which was fab but probably not the best idea to take a 3 year old and expect him to wear the glasses all the way through We did the whole pic'n'mix thing too (my idea of heaven) and ds was soooo excited - he had a whole (little) bag of sweeties to himself!

Iggy Hope you're okay and managing to cope in this heat. Re hat - do you mean a sun hat? I wouldn't have thought you need a warm hat, apart from maybe when the baby is first born. Don't they have trouble regulating their body temperatures for a little bit, or am I making that up? Have you thought about sun hats? DS has always had the ones where they have the peak at the front, and the flap at the back to cover his neck. They are brill!

Blue Am v impressed at the cross training! How did you feel on Thursday? Bless B with his tooth Has his pox gone now?

Choccie How is your baby buzz? Hope the little thing is still growing well for you. You are so lovely to be looking after it

Jools Hope you're okay x

Sorry to anyone I've missed, but I must go - dh has just opened a bottle of bubbly for some reason (am not complaining ) so am off to drink it! Am on hols for nine weeks now so I can allow myself the luxury of getting tipsy on a Sunday night, hooray!! Love to all xxx

4everhopeful · 04/07/2010 23:53

Very quiet on here.. Been havin a lovely weekend in the sun with S & Dh got S feet & hands cast in bronze today, expensive but worth it! Got another whole day with Dh to look forward to on weds too as our 3yr wedding anniversary! Been lurking but just had to post to Monkey, felt really bad when got ur tx sayin u werent on email i sent, as i said, wasnt intentional, id done 'reply all' to cupcakes last mail, i replied to ur tx & then tx u 2 photos, then i tx to check u got them but never heard back from u? Just wondered if u got them? .... Big hellos to everyone else, apologies for lack of personals, seem to have dropped off the radar lately?! Sure everyone can understand tho that as well as having a slow recovery from my open stitches & anemia, im still finding my feet being a mummy & embracing every second after waiting 3yrs for it too happen! In fact another anniversary looms as on the 15th its 2yrs since we lost our 3rd angel with the massive nuchal fold at 13 wks, in some ways its even sadder now as i know how adorably wonderful my lost angels could have been.. Makes me grateful for every second & inch of my gorgeous girl & i really thank god constantly for our little miracle!
