cupcake poor little babycakes in the heat, must be horrible for him. Glad he asleep now tho. I've always had a consultant cos I have been with him from the start ( not nhs you see ) and he is really excellent.

vjay hurray for a tooth!

louey I have my fingers crossed for you and also for lovely jools xxx

Neeko nice to see you , hope you ok.

Just had a slightly paranoid thought... Am not going to put the baby's name on mn. But I will on fb or text you all with it, so if I do, can you not put it on here? Fank you!

I had another check up today, baby is well down and not growing at an alarming rate any more, so I am relived! Currently estimating weight at 7lb. So prob at least another pound before birth!

MummyLovesSadie · 28/06/2010 20:38

Louey omg exciting symptoms! Do you normally get cramps before af? This time I had excruciating cramps from about 5 weeks right through the first trimester & I had that with dd too. Just do a test for God's sake! I'm feeling fine thanks. I'm at that stage where I'm still mobile & no major aches & pains just yet.

Jools you too! I know you don't normally test until af is late but COME ON we need something to get excited about! Very soon Iggy is going to be on the saggy pants bench & I'll be here all on my lonesome so I need someone to keep me company.

Vjay yay for the tooth! It's funny when their teeth come through as it totally changes their appearance doesn't it.

Neeko is it next Monday you go away? What are you planning to do on your birthday? Dinner & an early night..... to SLEEP!?? I'm hoping that on the morning of my birthday I might get a massage & perhaps have my nails done at the spa in the complex we'll be in.

Blue hope the pox leaves your house very soon. It can't be much fun being cooped up in this weather.

Monkey I'm glad you came to a decision about the ad's. Yes if you are being super-healthy at the moment it makes sense to not put anything that isn't natural in your body. What cd are you on at the moment?

Barbie bless you! I only know about these things from reading to many baby magazines & spending too much time shopping on the internet! Any luck getting a bit more sleep?

Iggy no you don't have to put the name on mn. Don't worry we'll all refer to your lo as your ds !

Cupcake rofl at what your Gran said about your Dad practically falling out! I'd quite like a birth like that please - just as long as the baby doesn't fall out when I'm out shopping or sitting on the toilet!

I've had a lovely evening, it was my very first parents evening ! Dd has settled into her pre-school well & I've been informed that her favorite activity is role-play & that she had everyone in stitches when she had one of the school guinea-pigs in her lap, she then whipped out a magnifying glass for a closer look! I have persuaded dh to take his laptop on hols 'to book tickets & things' so I'll definitely be able to have a lurk & do the odd posting while I'm away!

Right off to pack.....

Just found a mini milk in the back of the freezer - yum

Thinking of all the babies in this heat (and Iggy - must be uncomfortable)

Still spotting but not feeling AF-like at the mo, still nauseous, boobs still feel bruised

MLS I am not putting you out of your misery I vastly prefer AF arrival to seeing a BFN, so will wait a while, although possibly not as long as LBM waited !!

Good luck Louey

monkeybumsmum · 28/06/2010 21:21

Excellent idea MLS Looking at that we are massively overdue some BFP's Haven't a clue what CD I'm on... erm....ok, CD10. Absolutely can't face thinking about ttc, but if it happens that would be great (well terrifying but ykwim).

Cupcake re your dad falling out! Sounds much easier like that! Poor little Jude, it is soooo hot. Tis almost impossible to stay cool in this heat! We've had 32 degrees here today and it's likely to get hotter this week Is it like that where you are?

Must go as need to book tickets on Eurostar/trains/planes etc. Trying to organise summer holiday trips to UK, yay!

Hope everyone's okay and not too sweltering xxx

ps Blue So sorry to hear little B's got the pox, poor boy. Hope he doesn't get too bad a dose and that he's not too itchy. This heat must make it worse Lots of love x

VJay · 28/06/2010 21:22

Evening

Yes mls it does change his appearance, he looks even more cheeky now

Don't worry iggy we won't mention babbas name on here. Just 22 days to go

cupcake hope Jude is settled better this evening, it is slightly cooler, well up here anyway

monkeybumsmum · 28/06/2010 21:24

Jools sounds hopeful (fingers crossed) When I'm pg I can spot from a couple of hours to 3 or 4 days, so it could be IB...

Good luck Louey too! Oh, we need some BFP's and we also need to bulk out the medium and big pant benches. Might take a while though I s'pose

Happy holidays everyone going away! Im ! Bless Ajays 1st tooth Vjay! Blue hope Ben is better soon poor mite! Jools ...waves to the lovely Mermaid & Monkey & Barbie... Louey hope things improve for you soon... Very excited for you Iggy its flown by! Cupcake much sympathy to u for poor Jude, Summer is the same this heat is terrible & im so worried about her overheating shes just been in her nappy in front of the fan & lovin her baths! She has been unsettled tho & bringin up her milk where shes all restless poor soul.. However we did venture out for 1st trip just me & her today, must be mad in this weather, but i took her to show her off to my old work colleagues, had to do today as my old dept all get made redundant too on weds! I was a very proud mummy indeed!

CurlyBigPants · 29/06/2010 06:18

Hey. Sorry I have been MIA!!! I've been writing a massive post on my phone on and off for the last week and have managed to lose it all so will have to start again catching up with you

I'll try and get on later but just wanted to say hi, whoop whoop to jools and louey and our small panters and send a big hug to our lovely monkey and mermaid. Great to see moon back too

still giggling at MLS little chat with herself

Joolsiam · 29/06/2010 09:31

Hello Curly

Hope the packing is finished MLS - it will all be worth it - I'm very jealous

This spotting turned heavier overnight - it looks like AF, but doesn't feel like it - no cramps, bloating, aches, pmt Not particularly hopeful now ....

barbie1 · 29/06/2010 09:50

Hello, i too have been awol for a while, trying to sleep when D sleeps so have very little time to post.

The sleep issue is still on going somebody suggested a little baby rice to fill her up but im against that until she is 6 months...any thoughts?

Thankfully she is still having her full day time naps, all be it only 45 mins at a time...

jools and louey ekk, can we all get a tiny bit excited for you? I have everything crossed for some happy news in the next week or so.

mls when i grow up i want to be the same kind of mummy as you! I went to buy a few parenting mags yesterday but the imported ones are about 9 pound each and the others are in arabic so that aint gonna help me much!
I have been googling activites for 4 month old, i feel like im short changing D but not being more proactive (dh will tell you other wise but i beat myself up for the times she plays on her own in the activitie centre) i have bought bubbles, finger puppets, crinkly toys etc etc...we have been reading books and taking her to see the fish at atlantis and the mall, yet still i feel i need to entertain her more, any ideas what i can do???

This after im going to build an obstacle course, blankets, pillows, toys etc as she is so mobile it might be more of a challenge then rolling back and forth on the floor....

vjay awww teeth! so cute, you have to upload a piccie for us. Im constantly covered in drool...so have ordered some bandana style bibs so they look a little more funky then the standard bibs....since she has to constantly wear them she just as well look chic

monkey glad the suncream worked for you, they have a whole range of products, they have colored creams for the face which will be fun when ds is older...unfortunately our cream will go off by the time we next come to use it, its sooooo hot and humid here we cant even go out in it i have been walking around the malls just for a bit of exercise and a change from staring at the same walls...
I hope you are feeling some what better..good call on the anti d's, least you know there is always a plan to fall back on.

blue poor B, hope he feels better soon...cant be fun, especially in this heat

iggy dont worry our months are firmly shut! how are you doing? have you bought a cheap baby gro to give to your dogs before you come home from the hospital? we put d in one and then dh took it home the first night and gave it to Freddie, who then slept with it for the next 4 nights. When d came home he wasnt at all interested in her (times have changed!) Also keep treats for him to give to visitors who come to see the baby, tell them to fuss the dogs first, that way the dogs dont get jealous of bambino

4ever you still sound soooo happy and loved up, its so nice to read your posts. One thing though, just be careful of baby in front of a fan, apparently its bad for them cos they cant regulate body temp? (so says my mv!) its fine if they arent directly in the path of the cool air As long as the room temp isnt above 26 she should be ok...must be hard when they arent used to such heat Bet it was so nice to go and see all your old work friends, i miss having friends to go and show D off too. ALthough in Oct i can play the proud mummy when we finally come home!

at all of you going on your hols....i could do with a break somewhere (not so hot!) last night dh and i decided to book a holiday rental in Devon for when we come home, its so hard staying with family..doesnt feel like a holiday for us, so at least we can have some time to ourselves in the evenings.

mermaid how are you doing my lovely, how is the gym, wallpaper stripping going? Found any stray knickers lately....

curly how is the gorgeous curlygirl? are you suffering from the 4 month sleep regression thingy or have you escaped it???? hope everything has settled down and you are getting somewhere with the sleep routine...

Talking of gorgeous babies, omg! how cite is babycupcake mummy is a yummy mummy too!

sabs any luck with the teething? sounds like you have had some nice days out this summer oh and i craved ice cream after your fb status!

Hi to everyone else i might of missed, D is slowly waking so might have to dash...

Oh neeko the penis shaped teat didnt work either! We are now on to a nuk training cup, messy but least some of it is going in

And finally my af returned 3 days ago but (tmi) is only old blood, not enough to wear a tampon or pad i wonder if my af will ever return back to normal???
It was the first time in 2 years that i didnt have to rush to hospital on sight of blood, feels weird. I hope that one day all the smallpanters will feel the same....im keeping it all crossed for you girlies

xxx

barbie1 · 29/06/2010 09:52

waves to jools.... i hope the witch stays away!

4everhopeful · 29/06/2010 12:10

Hey Barbie wierd to have the return of AF! Im gonna have a little break to cherish every min with Summer, but actually wanna start tryin for another baby within a year tops! Bless u making obstacle courses for Devon! Im sure she is well stimulated, she is very loved so that alone makes u a fantastic mummy! Re the fan if S is really hot iv held her in front of it for like 30secs when shes all clammy, but just have it on in the room, thankfully its rained & gone cloudy now so its broken the heat a bit! Cant believe im happy about that! Poor u in that heat out there, its our 3yr wedding anniversary next weds, so we were in Dubai on our honeymoon this time of year & i remember being amazed at 45degree heat & the sea being as hot as a bath! ...I have just arranged to leave Summer with MIL on thurs to go get my roots done for first proper time since day we conceived her! Feel a bit & guilty already! Consolation is that MIL dotes on her & desperate to do the nanny thing... Right off to order loads of half price baby products from sainsburys online before deal ends today!

4everhopeful · 29/06/2010 12:16

Oops waves to Curly & im doing the stay away AF witch dance for you Jools! Must go before my sleeping beauty princess stirs!

loueytbg · 29/06/2010 12:30

mlsproudmummy Lovely to hear that your dd is getting on so well at pre-school. Hope the packing gets sorted. I hate it with a vengeance too but it will be worth it when you get there.

jools still have pom-poms at the ready for you.

barbie how many weeks is D now? We started weaning early, at 20 weeks I think (bearing in mind that they were also 4 weeks prem). We started v slowly and didn't introduce dairy/meat until at least 6 months. Just started on rice, veg, fruit. Some children are just ready earlier than others. Good that your body is getting back to normal, although its not fun having af back.

sabs did the ice-cream man turn up??

4ever well done for going into work so soon with Summer. I bet you were a proud mummy

Vjay big claps to Ajay for getting his tooth. Hope you have a bit of a respite before the next (and hopefully it won't be as bad....)

iggy glad the appt went well and babyiggy has slowed down his/her growth a bit

cupcake hope its a bit cooler where you are today. 27 degrees in our house last night. Twas a bit hot for us all, let alone little babies. My step-sister had a similar couldn't sit down after birth screwed fanjo 1st time round, much much easier second time round. Hope its the same for you too.

monkey Have pom-poms ready and waiting to get out for you in about 3 weeks time.

Neeko where you are off too?? How funny that there are so many of you going away at the same time.

I am a stupid stupid woman BFN yesterday, BFN today. Still have hideous cramps and feel nauseous but I had a weird cycle like this before (the cycle before I got my BFP). Got my hopes up then too. Damn body playing tricks with me. Am expecting AF to turn up on cue late tomorrow or Thursday. Will not stop me POAS again though I'm sure

bluesatinsash · 29/06/2010 16:59

Trying a wee catch up whilst B sleeps and DS1 is at his cousins

Louey - hummph! re: BFN... glad you had a lovely week off and gorgeous weather to boot!

Jools - still hoping....

MLS - I know England is different re: education but is your DD not 2? And she's at pre-school?? DS1 has just finished his ante-pre-school and will be going to pre-school in August and he is 4! Although I think you start school a year earlier (or so it seemed when I watched Grange Hill and they started High school at 11 . Hope you are not stressing too much with the packing and make sure you have lots and lots of lovely showing off your bump dresses .

barbie - AF returned for me last night! Feeling very weird, over a year since my last one and 6 months since Ben was born/5 weeks since I stopped BF. Its really heavy today too. Please don't feel you have to occupy Devon's every waking minute she will be more than happy rolling and sucking her toes . Have you thought of flash cards? I used to show them to DS1 (I got them free with issue of 'Junior' and found them yesterday so was showing B ("look an ice cream/castle/bumble bee"). B also loves books that you press and they sing. We have a spot one that sings all the favourites - row you boat, twinkle etc. He tries to put his chubby hands on the buttons now .

re: weaning. I stared B at 24 weeks but DS1 at 21 weeks. Its a very personal decision as babies are so different but I think the rule of thumb is not before 17 weeks as their digestive system isn't ready for it.

Vjay - hope your brushing Ajay's tooth with pride . where are you off on your hols? Back home?

4ever - bet you swelled with pride pushing S thought the doors at your work. Hope you and she was suitably cooed over .

monkey - its such a personal decision re: anti-d's but you are being kind to your body with your healthy eating so hope it lifts your spirits too. I took St. John's wort a few years back when I was v. down and I did feel better but you never know if its just your life getting better or the drugs .

Sabs - how is S? Did you buy the granules?

mermaid - enjoying the last few weeks before your DS invades your space ?

Hi curly* - you must have been when you lost your post. I hated posting from DH's phone - it was so faffy - grrr. Hope curlygirl is behaving

Neeko glad you're having a good week, onl four days til your DH is off

cupcake - my friend and mat. leave buddy has your pram . Its lovely, really dainty. Her DS is in the pushchair part now as he's 5 months.

Iggy - loved barbie's tips on not having a jealous dog on your hands . We can make up a name for your DS/DD! something wild like Augustus - eek! hope that wasn't on your short list

So yes, B has caught the chicken pox. I noticed 2 spots when I took him to be weighed on friday (18lb 14oz, a steady 60 percentile ) and did a bit of "it might be a heat spot" denial. Alas no and he was covered on Sat. but not as many as his big brother. He was grizzly at night over the weekend and slept in with me but he has really bounced back today and the spots are drying up so he definately had it milder than Isaac. POX BE GONE!

I had my first 'have baby will travel' jaunt earlier. Needed to go into town for food, it was 2pm, B has bottle at 3pm, hmm I thought could ditch pram and just carry him, so I did. Both of us jumped into car, and I carried him into M&S, just me, him and my purse. Cue much cooing at his gorgeous feet from shoppers. Bought dinner, carried him and carry bag to car, off home. Total time - 45 minutes = more time in garden.

I'm also doing my 'bluffers guide' for Gannies for next week when I go back to work. I did the same for DS1 when I went back to work. Its like a loose itinerary of his feeds and naps - who am I kidding - loose - more like a minute by minute . Just helps them know when he will get tired (2.5 hours after he last woke up!) etc.

Feeling fine about going back tbh, work is only 5 mins drive away from house, only doing two days and I do look forward to having a cup of tea when I want .

eek, gotta go, Ben has woken- TTFN x

barbie1 · 29/06/2010 17:10

Hi Girls, thanks for your input re baby rice...you see the thing is i dont want to wean her, in fact i dont want to give her anything but breast milk ever.

Just wondered if anything would help the poor mite sleep better she is having naps every few hours. Well 90 mins after she last woke because she is soooo tired. Her last feed it going to pot because of this, she has started waking after 90 mins after her normal bed time starving hungry just cant get her to take more on her normal feed

Even introducing a later nap at 5pm, she is still grumpy and over tired come 6pm bath and god help us by 6.30 feed!

Anyways im off to source some books and flash cards thanks blue

Night night x

monkeybumsmum · 29/06/2010 19:49

Just a quickie coz off to watch The Blind Side on DVD - anyone seen it?

Barbie I too felt just like that re bf'ing - I loved it, and really didn't want to stop! You could just try a little baby rice with breastmilk and then if it doesn't work at least you know it's not because she's hungry. DS started waking two weeks before I wanted to wean him (at 5 1/2 months!) but my mum persuaded me to try baby rice and he did sleep much better after having had some at supper time. It's so difficult to know what to do though! Good luck!

Blue Get you with your shopping buddy! Sounds like you have the whole thing down to a tee Very at you being able to go to M&S though. Grrrrrrrrrr.

Louey Hope it's this cycle that takes you by surprise Our bodies are naughty aren't they You will get there... There are so many of us on the small pants bench that I reckon we'll get a bunch of BFP's in quite a short space of time. Fingers crossed anyway!

Must go as if I don't get the DVD in and myself installed on the sofa hot and sweaty DH (just come back from a run) will beat me to it for the footy. Byeeeeeeeee xxx

MummyLovesSadie · 29/06/2010 20:43

Hello Blue yes dd is 2, down here many pre-schools accept children at two and a half. The one she goes to is a montessori pre-school so she is already learning the basics of maths! I think our cut-off month is different to yours too. Down here a child starts school in the September immediately after they turn 4 & they should turn 5 within that school year. So if a child has a birthday at the end of August, they will have started school when they are just four, and if a child has their birthday a couple of weeks later in September they will start when they are practically 5. I'm fortunate that dd was born in October so she will be one of the older ones in class (& I get to keep her home with me for an extra year ). Can't believe you are going back to work next week, where did that time go?

Barbie it sounds like you are in a bit of a pickle with dd's sleep/feeding routine. I've emailed you Gina Fords routine from four to six months to see if that can be of any help - feel free to throw rotten fruit at me ! I started weening dd at four months, I know it's considered early nowadays but she seemed ready & I only gave her baby rice to start with.

Monkey hope you won the battle of the remote!

Louey & Jools it aint over until tew shows her face - cliche but true. I hope your spotting is an ib Jools & Louey which hpt's are you using?

4ever lovely pics on the email. First time we've had a proper look at her! where did you get her baby-gro's from btw? I need to get some with the built-in mitts & the only place I know where to get them is Mothercare.

Off to the loft to try & locate my iPod speakers now.

littlebellsmum · 29/06/2010 21:16

Hi all
Being a bit tied up with a grumpy baby and grumpy dh due to the sunny weather and lack of bottom action! WE do get some poos now but they are rare and she still goes purple a few times a day and screams blue murder. Having said that, the cooler weather today really helped her and she was a lovely routine baby. That was untill Daddy got home..... he's now convinced that she doesn't like him. Methinks it could be connected to him shouting at her!!

Fingers crossed for those on the wait- got to go and finish cakes for sports days tomorrow. Got to spend the morning in the school field - not sure that babyJ is going to like it much!
