Oh I went to see my friend today who gave birth last Thurs - gorgeous little baby boy. He didn't even have any scaly skin or patchy bits, just beautiful.

I'm not speaking to dh at the moment. I was upstairs watching bb and chatting on mn minding my own business when he came barging in & had a massive rant at me for not hearing him struggling to get the wheelie-bin from down by the shed, along the path & to the front of the house which took him 25 mins apparently. What does he expect me to do I'm nearly 6 months pregnant ffs.

MummyLovesSadie · 23/06/2010 22:26

Right I think everyone except me has gone to bed. Maybe you are all hiding & are going to jump out & shout boo at the last minute....

MummyLovesSadie · 23/06/2010 22:26

.... no?

MummyLovesSadie · 23/06/2010 22:29

Ok, you really really have gone to bed then. Right well I'm off to have a read of my baby name book.

Night all.

echoes through the empty greenhouse.

mermaidspurse · 24/06/2010 07:59

oh god my poor, poor head.

Our cul-de-sacs water got cut off last night, so I had to drink wine natch - and we were all at a bbq so did a joint phone call to the water board, poor woman on the end of the phone, it was all very funny if you had had as many spritzers as me. She got us all ruinning off to try our taps it was like a street olympics.

I havn't gone very far back so I am sorry if I have missed stuff - have read summers birth day though. And that vjay is being swotty again which is fab high five for you lovely lady.

iggy can't believe you are on maternity leave that is ace and I hope you are basking in this glorious weather enjoying every minute.

annie think you may have gone back but hope it went ok and enjoying precious time with the boys when you get home.

curly and sabs lovely that you got to meet up - I am coming up to the smoke in October, I think I am anyway but it all seems a bit of an effort atm. Very old friend getting hitched at last so ought to make the effort.

blue I had never come across graduations for playschool before. I hate the fact that authorities have to clamp down on stuff like Angels. There are so many interpretations to words they should just let peole take what they wish and ignore what they don't like.

hmm I think tennis players legs are definatley better than footballers. Hope your dh enjoyed wimbledon mls sounds like he had a bit of a grumpy day.

monkey this is a bit fuzzy but my councellor tried explaining that the linky things in our brains - maybe neurons... are not meeting and working properly through prolonged stress and the wild mix of fluctuating hormones caused by numerous mc which is messing the firing between all the linky things in our brains. So ads help form a temporary bridge so the linky things whatever they are called can do their biz.
I think that maybe you coud do with a little bit of help, you have struggleed on for such a long time. It is a scary decision though I can understand how you feel.
I have kept an eye on Jools and she really does seem to have blossomed and chased the clouds of despair to a copable level again which is lovely to see btw joolsxx

now I rememeber how I loose my day on mn.

barbie tis hard this sleeping milarky and you are always allowed to moan.
blues just want to cart you off to bed has to be the quote of the week

cupcake hope you are ok getting out and about slowly and well done with bf

4ever afternoon hope you are ok feeling less sore. It must be hot up your way at the moment so hope you are all coping with the hot weather. Your birth story is a true epic up there with war and peaceStill makes me grin from ear to ear thinking of you and dh with little summer.

moon I know you have been having a strrssful time and i hope you are ok lovely lady.xx

Thank you for all your lovely messages and texts over the last few weeks. The care and support from a bunch of ladies who have progressed from grief to peeing on various sticks to writing birth stories is amazing.

hello to a new lady choccie I am confused and will catch up at some point and pfg sorry you are having stress too.

I am sorry I will deffo have missed someone and you know it's only cos I am so behind. It's worse than homework!

barbie1 · 24/06/2010 13:40

Hello

I had 2 x 1.5 hours sleep last night instead of the usual 45 mins max and i feel loads better! If someone had said a few years back that i could survive on so little sleep i would of looked at them like this but i am and im here to tell the tale.....

mermaid i hope you no longer have your knickers in a twist your email made me chuckle, there really was no need to reply but im glad you did...hope the water is back so you can dissolve some headache tablets in it! Your hangover doesnt sound too much fun but the phone call to the water board did....And i agree this thread is truely amazing!

choccie ive been meaning to say a huge thankyou for taking time in writing to me about getting to sleep...i am taking your advice and have purchased some lovely bubble bath and a book, i will let dh see to D if she wakes and im taking time out to relax and unwind.... zzzzzzzz

Im worried about moon i think this is the longest she has stayed away for???

pfj thanks for the treats, hope you are ok????

blue i too giggled like a loon, i know my new hair cut makes me irresistible but you will have to fight dh to see who carts me off to bed!
In answer to your question, yes i take d upstairs to our bedroom (blackout blinds) where it is quiet to feed her (unless im out of course) there is sadly no way she can go 4 hours between feeds i think we can push to 3 if we are out/ she is totally occupied. She is messing around more lately...she finds it funny to blow raspberries while my nipple is in her mouth or she will wiggle and try to show me that she can roll over instead of feeding, unfortunately for me she tend to forget to unlatch first and stretches my boob beyond belief! She has started to push herself and climb over me if i lie down and lately she helps herself to my nipple as she in en route to the other side of my belly...cheeky mare!
Its our weekend tomorrow so i will try to space out her feeds more with the help of dh.
Im dreading that this sleeping thingy will last until she is weaned as seems to be the consensus on here

barbie1 · 24/06/2010 13:46

vjay so are you joining us on the dark side (facebook)? come on you know you wanna!

mls have you remembered the name yet? lol at you making a list/ itinerary for your holiday, so much for relaxing and going with the flow! Oh and buy some lovely juicy oranges and keep with you at all times in the heat...lovely way to keep hydrated and not feeling faint. Florida oranges yummy!

iggy any plans for your mat leave? I was soooooo bored come the end, i still have a freezer full of food i cooked i did make so much!
Im obsessed with making cupcakes at the moment, dh bought me a piping bag thingy...i love doing the icing, its so much fun!.... as is licking the buttercream from the bowl

barbie1 · 24/06/2010 13:53

mermaid when, if you go to the wedding in london..is it? looks like there will be a fair few of us if all the dates match...im so excited already.

baking were any of the tips on dubai any good? when do you arrive (if you arent already here?)

neeko any luck with the bottle? do you co sleep ever? i only ask because the other day D was lying watching baby Einstein (i know i shouldnt use the tv as a babysitter it wont happen again! ) and i put the bottle in front of her (water only) and she started to play with and pulled it over and started to suck! I then managed to get 3oz in her at bed time by letting her lead the way. I think she is comfortable with feeding like this Still not managing a proper fed the normal way but every day i give her water to play with and slowly she is starting to see that the bottle isnt her enemy. Today i bought a bottle by pigeon, its tiny as it only hold 4 oz but its brightly coloured and the teat if superfine and can by manipulated into anyshape in the month and the milk can still come out...might work, ill report back. ps the teat looks like a penis

Joolsiam · 24/06/2010 13:56

Jools dons dark glasses, hunches over laptop and furtively logs on to MN from a client site to say HELLLOOOOOOOOOOOO to Mermaid and YAY to more than 45 mins sleep for Barbie

Whispers VERY quietly - 9DPO in the wannabe mother house and the abdominal cramps are continuing, having woken me up last night, so hopefully not imagined ....

Off to Regents Park open air theatre tonight to see Comedy of Errors take my mind of symptom spotting

VJay · 24/06/2010 14:52

Ooooh I'm still not sure about facebook , that's a wary look

I too lol at blue carting barbie off to bed

mermaid tis lovely to see you, hope your head is feeling better

jools I want to say , but really I am a bit excited for you

Gotta go Ajay is destroying something, he can wizz round the furniture so fast now, so will have to dash.....................

OP posts:
mermaidspurse · 24/06/2010 15:51

*vjay you make ajay sound like a dyson

jools enjoy Comedy of Errors that sounds lovely and very summery.

barbie 9th Oct don't know how much leeway I have either side of that. God october it will be all dark cold and everyone will be christmas shopping. shudder.

VJay · 24/06/2010 15:59

mermaid he IS like a little dyson

OP posts:
MummyLovesSadie · 24/06/2010 16:12

Barbie I had one of these when I was bf'ing dd. It stopped her from getting distracted.

Mermaid 9th Oct is that when you'll be in London? I'd love to come as I'm only half an hour from Waterloo on the train but I think I might be otherwise engaged on or around that day.

Jools if I remember rightly, abdo cramps are the most common early symptom. Are you taking baby aspirin yet? The pregnancy that stuck for me was when I started taking it at the beginning of the month.

Vjay fb is perfectly safe, the only danger is that it takes up too much of your time!

Joolsiam · 24/06/2010 16:23

MLS - haven't taken baby aspirin yet but have some at home. I've heard conflicting info - that taking aspirin before implantation can cause implantation to fail So, not sure, but I guess IF I am not imagining the cramps, implantation is happening, so I could start taking my drugs !!

Right, logging off and praying for the rain to hold off - tis looking a little bleak in London now

MummyLovesSadie · 24/06/2010 16:40

Jools yes you are right there is conflicting info on when to take it. I think it was Blue that said she'd been advised to take it before a bfp. All I can say is that I had two cp's when I started taking it after a bfp, I then started taking it after the last cp & the following month conceived my sticky bean.

littlebellsmum · 24/06/2010 16:40

hiya

just to answer a few questions - baby wearing is going to new levels at the mo due to her tummy ache. Only managed to put her down for 30 mins today without her yelling and the close sling is coming into its own ( shes in in now and finally asleep)

Thanks for the tips - sadly, we've done most except the orange juice which we are doing tonight.
The pump i bought was the Avent electic one like barbie - basically as I walked into boots and there was one on sale half price. It's fine but i don't get much milk out - think thats me rather than the pump.

need to go an get new school shoes for older dc's - their won't last the term.....

4everhopeful · 25/06/2010 03:36

DH got £150 mamas & papas voucher from his v generous work so we went shopping! Mummy also treated herself too several items from Next! Methinks the mummy tummy will take some time to shift tho! Not helped by the feast in Nandos afterwards! Summers first time eating out on her 1month birthday! Time now going too fast after the longest pregnancy in history!
