...thanks to all the support we get in the greenhouse

LBM I think Neekothemilkyone would recommend a Medala Swing. That's what I'm going to buy as I want a freezer-full of milk too!

bluesatinsash · 14/06/2010 22:00

Hi from the highlands of scotland or vjay country if you like . on dh phone so excuse rubbish pincuation...

Think Isaac has turned the corner his spots are crusting up and he is
more himself
tonight. It's lovely and sunny here now so were hoping to go to beach tomorrow and blast the pox into touch! vjay and neeko thanks for all your tips and advice!

neeko sorry to hear about left boob problems.... Know we have spoken alot about bottle but echo vjay you have to do what makes you happy. I am so much happier since ben was weaned off me, just relieved in the end.

lbm I had medula mini electric and could get 3oz after
20 minutes...

Scared to type in case phone packs in but wanted to check in and give big hug to louey . Been thinking about you and your worry for Isaac... Autism is so better understood these days and there is alot of help out there just make sure you fight for it. Luke will be a great asset to him too fighting his corner and giving him a sense of his place in the world. I believe all boys have some degree of autism in them and I've heard it described as "exagerated maleness". Wishing you every
positive thought x

4ever mention the clot
to your mw. What pram did you get in the end?

Big hi's to everyone else normal posting will return once I get
back to my trusty pc on Friday

cupcakefairy · 14/06/2010 23:04

Hello lovelies. I sat down at about 5 to the laptop hoping to post and hey presto, little one woke up and fed on and off until 9pm. He was being so fretful too, practically crying the whole time he was on the boob which he hasn't done before...wondering if it's something I ate. I've heard orange juice upsets their tummies & I've drunk a fair bit of that the last couple of days He then cried and cried for ages. Dh eventually took him off me and he dropped off to sleep sraight away- not fair!

Things are definitely improving in my nether regions! Had physio again today and I can sit and walk a bit easier now. Aiming to go to town with dh on Friday for a bit of a trip out so hoping I'll be much better by then.
We also saw the Advanced Midwifery Practitioner today to go through the labour notes which was really helpful in understanding everything. Shudders going back to that delivery suite though!

Ok, attempted catchup-
Iggy can't believe you only have 5 weeks to go; so excited for you! I think you're having a boy too (everyone said it to me and it was true )

blue glad ds1 is turng a corner

neeko hope the next part of the bottle battle is more successful! I've been advised not to express yet as I'm so engorged- my supply is ridiculous for somebody who's never been very busty! Poor Jude gets milk running all over his face and ends up practically choking! By the way thanks for the breastmilk on gunky eyes tip back when gracie had that problem as Jude has a very sticky eye atm so glad I know what to do

louey so sorry about the diagnosis you must be so worried. But what blue said is lovely- him having his twin will make such a difference for him, he'll always have an ally.

4ever well done you on the dry run for being alone. I'm dreading dh going back to work a week Tuesday

moon massive hugs to you lady if you're lurking out there. We miss you.

barbie it'd be fab to have a big meet up when you're back in the UK. I'd be happy to travel to London or wherever's easiest for everyone...

Hey by the way girls you'll be amused to hear that my life finally does involve a lot of poo stories!! iggy let me advise you not to bother getting the free Huggies nappies there's a voucher for in the Bounty packs...they are RUBBISH! All Jude's clothes have needed soaking before being washed the last few days. Today he managed to poo all down his leg and even though dh and I double-teamed to change him he still ended up with poo on his shoulders and back and then threw up too...brilliant. I'm dreading a situation like that when I'm out somewhere with him

Right sorry not to do more personals but I am always reading! Loads of love to all x

4everhopeful · 15/06/2010 01:56

Lbm i used tommee tippee closer to nature but am gettin pitiful amounts compared to Neeko... Yay to the pox clearing blue sea air is fab healer, splash his face too! Cupcake i agree huggies are rubbish, S soaked last night for 1st time! Had pampers before.. Poos not to explosive, yet! Glad to hear you are healing at last.. We are gonna finally venture to get her registered on fri as DH has half day, so brill he passed his test so if im too sore to drive he can rescue me! So sad he has to go back to work 2moro after such an amazing 3wks! We will all miss each other so much! Dont kno what id of done without him he has been wonderful.. Mw postponed til weds, huff, reckons clot can be normal but did make me a bit weebly, as did S nipple looking all red & swollen like a bite? Kno their nipples do swell but this just one? Called Nhs direct but reckon ok, just as well HV coming at midday! Just lettin S doze off on chest after feed with half an eye on Bb live! She had a right scream up & poor DH up at 6am!

4everhopeful · 15/06/2010 02:04

Btw thanks also for breastmilk tips, has been used on belly button & stitches! fab stuff! Blue got the mamas and papas ultima polka 8in1, also thanks for tip on extra head support for carseat, only used on way back from hosp but held her head whole way so Mil now brought us support for our next big outing on fri!

ThePFJ · 15/06/2010 09:33

littlebellsmum here - a mumsnet review of breastpumps. I can say that hand pumps are a pain in the ass, and the medula hand pumps are rubbish in my opinion.
A battery/electric one is alot easier, once you get over the fact it appears to be sucking your entire breast into the shape of a torpedo!

VJay · 15/06/2010 09:35

Morning

I've got to go to the vets in a mo (not me the dog ), so will do a catch up post later, just wanted to say to louey you can email me on the address that is on cupcakes email, then I can send you the other one, both are available to me it's just that I use the other one more. I know where you are in your head right now, it's hard, but I promise it does get easier. I've loads to say, but have to go out now xxx

OP posts:
VJay · 15/06/2010 10:03

Right I'm back, dh has taken the woofster to the vets

blue so glad I is on the mend, no sign of B getting the pox is there? I don't have a car now til Friday else I would nip down and see you, both boys are now clear of the bug, but just keeping Ajay quiet today just incase, but he's taken his last 2 bottles of milk fine with no sickness.

4ever I think it's OK to have a clot this late, I remember passing a few at least 2 weeks or more after the birth, but check with your MW all the same.

pfj sorry but I love your posts, they make me chuckle, you have a wicked sense of humour

monkey hope AF IS finally here, then you can start conting days, taking temps, peeing on sticks etc, the whole sshhbang, if that's your thing anyway

lbm I used a hand pump with no problems, I had the advent one to go with the bottles. I've never tried an electric one so can't compare the two.

cupcake glad your nether region is feeling better, you poor thing, my sympathies to you

louey what I meant before is that I understand where your head is not that I know, sorry. We can chat on here if you like or in private, I'll leave that up to you. monkey made a good point, the right help and support goes a long way

As I mentioned above, both boys seem to be better now, it's only lasted about 24 hours in both cases.

mermaid where are you?

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 15/06/2010 10:08

Morning all

Well, mission seduction was finally successful last night and I have ov pains this morning, so fingers crossed I think this is my first proper 2WW since around October time.

Hugs to Louey no experience to offer I'm afraid.

Loving hearing about all our new mummies and cyber relatives

As for meeting up - well I guess I'm pretty much the only one now that is in a 9 - 5 (or 7 - 10 ..) job, so would love to join you all if I can, but work may well get in the way .... (I'm an IT consultant and my skills seem to be rather in demand these days - has been great for taking my mind off things, but not so great in terms of work life balance as I now have RSI back, aswell as bad eye strain, so am trying to go easy on PC use unless I have to be on for work)

Am at home today as I have another counselling appointment. GP has also halved my dose of A/D's - I'm a bit nervous about it, but happy to give it a try and see if I can do without.

Big waves to my fellow small panters

ThePFJ · 15/06/2010 10:14

Good luck Joolsiam I should ovulating from today onwards so fingers crossed for both of us.
Vjay aww thanks.

Neeko · 15/06/2010 10:16

Morning all. Thanks for all your supportive comments. Feeling much better today and she's feeding from the left boob again. This has helped me feel able to keep going again and just keep trying the bottle on and off. Know part of my problem lies in being a control freak and how long I fed DD1 for, so don't want to short change H.
BTW I only got so much so quickly because I was so engorged. Do find the Medula swing much better than the harmony but still sometimes use the harmony to express whilst feeding from the other side. Think I'm just really lucky re supply - another reason why I'd feel bad giving up.

Typing left-handed so no chance of personals but thinking of you all.

Neeko · 15/06/2010 10:18

X-post Good luck on the 2ww both of you. Have my fingers crossed.

barbie1 · 15/06/2010 11:13

barbie1 · 15/06/2010 11:17

x posting with everyone! hi all!

im one handed typing too....

will do proper post later

littlebellsmum · 15/06/2010 12:52

thanks for the pump comments. was between avent and medula and still is!

BTW - for all the huggies haters, please send me your nappies/ vouchers as I can't stand the smell of pampers

Got to go - babyJ has been feeding and snoozing on me all morning, has just had 10 ins on the baby gym and is starting to grizle... it could be a long day

justshaggy · 15/06/2010 13:38

Fleeting update. Have sort-of recovered from what we think was proper flu, only to now get what I know is a rotten cold. So I am currently coughing and snorting and fed-up miserable with a quarter of my mouth developing a cold sore. (Although, googling 'vejazzling' did momentarily cheer me up )No idea why this is happening now because I thought I was the healthiest I have ever been in my life.

All this started, literally, the day after ov so I think this cycle is a TTC-write-off. Still, I foolishly cling to hope. Foolishly because there is nothing to cling to: my 2ww is at 8DPO but my charts say nothing at all - temps all over the place; my symptoms could be PMS or could be the lingering lurgy or anything I suppose.

Not posting much, but occasionally lurking. Back to my couch to mope and look for a sappy afternoon film.

Hope you're all well.

loueytbg · 15/06/2010 22:42

justshaggy Poor you. Flu is dreadful, and somehow seems worse in the summer. Hope you feel much better very soon. Your charts won't mean anything if you are ill, your temps will be all over the place, so I would ignore them. I'm sure getting ill after ovulation wouldn't affect your chances. Being ill can delay ovulation, but if it had already happened then you have just as much chance of getting pg.

LBM I had a medela symphony (rented) and it was v good. I would probably buy one if I got pg again.

barbie fab hair hopefully it will keep you cooler during the super hot summer.

neeko clearly H has got you wrapped around her little finger. Little minx. I'm glad she is feeding again though.

jools yay to mission seduction . Have lots of things crossed for you (not my legs though, on my own mission ) It must have felt like an eternal wait since October. Hope the AD dose reduction goes ok, you won't know how you will feel unless you try.

Vjay so glad your boys are better, sickness bugs are just awful (on them and you). How is your dog doing? I will send you an email when I get a chance, I am feeling much much better today. Last night DS1 read off all the foam letters in the bath and made my heart melt - he can't say much but he sure knows his alphabet. His portage worker reckons he will be reading before he's talking properly. I know we could be a lot worse off.

4ever how did the HV appointment go? I can't help about the clot I'm afraid but I know that you can bleed for quite a while.

blue glad Isaac is getting better. Hope that Ben doesn't get it but there is a long incubation period (2 weeks) so I think you have a bit longer to go before you are out of the woods. Hope you have a fab time at the beach.

cupcake yay for healing fanjos Poo story for you - DS2 announced in a very loud voice just before bedtime that he was about to do a MONSTER poo. Clearly we talk far too much about bodily functions in our house Don't even think about trying those nature nappies either. They are a disaster on the poo front. We have used pampers the vast majority of time.

monkey thank you. You are absolutely right and we just need to sort out how to get him the right help. Hope you get AF and are ready to join the rest of us small panters

pfj have you forgiven DH yet? Men can be such arses. You have my sympathy.

I've probably forgotten someone, so I apologise!!

As I said, I'm feeling much better today and got some last minute BD action in this morning with DH before he flew off . Just hope he's not too knackered when he gets back and I get a +OPK this time round. Am so impatient....

barbie1 · 16/06/2010 07:47

Holy shite...

the baby alarm has just gone off, which means no movement was detected for 15 secs (tis very sensitive monitor, can detect heartbeat even when at other end of cot far from sensor pad)

I ran up the stairs so very fast and picked up D only for her to let out a huge sigh and fall back to sleep

I can get up the stairs in under 3 seconds....

For the last 10 mins i have been reading about baby resuscitation and first aid, im going to get dh to practice with me tonight....my heart wont slow down and my hands are shaking....arrrghhhhh!

On a more funny note (to take my mind of what has just happened) dh woke me up last night with his laughing...it seemed i was cuddling a pillow while patting and shhing it guess the shh/pat method is taking over my life! and then i freaked and said well if this is the pillow where the heck is the baby????

Dh replied..."the cot, you numpty!"

louey glad you are feeling a bit better now and yeah for the bd you managed! The hair does feel a lot lighter, so much so i went and weighed myself right after Still a stone to go though so it didnt help much....
I bet now though my neck will burn, cant win in this heat!

jools you work way too hard! you sound cheerful though to thats nice...hope you are coping well on half of your meds? good luck for operation seduction!

justshaggy meh to having the flu...i hope it passes and you are back to your healthy self very soon.

4ever i asked my sil who had natural birth 2 weeks after me and she said she was passing clots on and off for a few weeks...so perfectly normal i think when you have a c section they clear everything away so the bleeding is minimal...hope you are ok...what did the hv say?

pfj your post always make me smile, has your dh redeemed himself yet or is he still in the doghouse?

Talking of dogs how is yours vjay?

Oh dear better run D is awake, i can hear her talking and cooing down the monitor, the girl is very vocal and instead of crying she now shrieks! She has learned to tug at my boob and talk to it if she wants feeding...all very well but a tad embarrassing when out in public. She them makes a "yum" sound when she gets what she wants!

Oh and she likes to suck her tumb while breast feeding

and finally the other day she was messing around with the feeding so i took her off and said do you want this? yes or no...and i kid you not she said YES!! my dh and i fell about laughing, it was so clear (obviously i know she isnt talking but the sound she made was so like a yes sound)

Off to rescue the teddies from her soggy, gummy mouth....

barbie1 · 16/06/2010 07:49

thumb not tumb

VJay · 16/06/2010 10:26

Morning,
My dog is fine, his arthiritis wil get progressively worse as will his heart murmer, but the vet has told us what to look out for, he's also looking into dog hydrotherapy for him , it might be pricey though. Hvae bought him some special food, and he's getting a real pampering now

barbie love the hair, mine is similar to that, it will keep you lovely and cool . I love your posts

louey your ds1 sounds as bright as a button

Gotta go Asda delivery is here...

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 16/06/2010 12:26

I love your stories Barbie - always make me smile

Hope you are feeling better very soon JustShaggy Louey - the monster poo story made me laugh

Where is everyone ? I need distracting - having not had a really hopeful 2WW in so long, I think this one is going to drive me nuts - I've already caught myself wondering how to curb my workload and what I could cope with if once I get that BFP (positive mental attitude today !)

Cupcake - have I missed your birth story ? All this mention of pain and stuff is scaring me !!

barbie1 · 16/06/2010 12:35
