C'mon in BESHes to the beach bar...sprawl on comfy sofas while you wiggle your toes in the sand and watch a glorious sunset....and drink brightly coloured cocktails with sparklers in. Cos we're classy, innit.

I've got Adam and joe in as barmen, and we have a rather nice Cave of Gloom in the corner for those 'whyyyyyy meeeeeeee???' moments. We have a reggae sound system playing mob barley's greatest hits. It's a sunshine paradise!

Newcomers welcome,as long as they drag along a bucket of black humour and a vast amount of gin. And please note, some of us have been here so long we have forgotten the real world almost entirely.

Now,who's getting the next round in?

ReesesPieces Zat me?

saltyair · 06/06/2010 19:28

She is the devil in raven haired girl form. She sets back the cause of equality about 50 years with her sauce pot spoon lickin' flirtation with the camera. She only got her TV/Publishing break because she was married to Charles 'Thatcher's marketing guy' Saatchi.

I hate the whole format of her stupid programs, and have yet to sit through a whole one, because she makes me so livid. I especially hate the bits where her 'friends' come to try her tasty titbits.

On a less rational note, she also just makes me feel funny. But not in a good way.

sorry of any of YOU are actually Nigella in real true life. I'd still say it, but I'd probably try to be more tactful.....

Medee · 06/06/2010 19:36

She was married to her first husband when her career kicked off. She was famous long before she married Saatchi.

though I agree about the "friends" popping round to dinner bit.

saltyair · 06/06/2010 19:42

yes, it's probably unfair of me to say that's why she GOT famous.

It hasn't hurt her career any though....

I am perhaps blinkered by my illogical hatred

Medee · 06/06/2010 19:43

I think you might be!

saltyair · 06/06/2010 19:44

busted....

I have a whole list of famous people I'm either slightly scared of, or I illogically hate.....

oh dear.....Gin, anyone??

PerfectDromedary · 06/06/2010 19:47

Aries yes, you! Although possibly tenuous...but obvs you are sweet & addictive.

salty with you on Nigella & cause of equality. Also, many of the recipes are a bit urgh.

muse I could help you eat the bits that have gone wrong ?

saltyair · 06/06/2010 20:00

I have, again, unusual amounts of CM. What does this mean?

I wish I could go to a tealeaf reading gypsy, except one who does CM.....

Scorpette · 06/06/2010 20:01

I quite like Nigella, although agree with the equality thing. But she's had quite a sad life and always worked hard; her mother and sister died of breast cancer and she nursed her first husband through a v long and harrowing death from throat cancer, so she's a bit of a trouper. And she's done lot less telly work and so on since marrying Saatchi, as there was a bit of a backlash. But I also agree a lot of the recipes are a bit wtf.

I'll tell you who I hate - James 'watch me wobble my fat belly' Corden.

Tagline, so sorry about the droid Beeping fucker, ruining your weekend.

I feel so weak today- had 3 hour nap and bossfriend has said it'd probably be best I don't come in tomorrow as she needs to have someone in so she can be out and about and I'm still too feeble to cope. I don't get paid if I don't work so am and yet relieved, cos I know I'm not up to it. Just wanna get better asap! Next weekend is SWI-time - must be a-ok by then.

saltyair · 06/06/2010 20:04

oh......now I feel an uncomfortable mix of hatred and guild towards Nigella...

Top of my list?

Jimmy Saville

saltyair · 06/06/2010 20:14

I meant 'guilt' not 'guild'...that would be wierd...

Ariesgirl · 06/06/2010 20:15

Don't feel bad Salt. I hate lots of people other people like.

I'm watching football . But it is for charidee and I never said I hated football ok? I just hate some of the wankers involved in it. James Corden is there just for you Scorps. You must admit that his Sports Relief coaching thing was funny.

I actually really like sport.

PerfectDromedary · 06/06/2010 20:25

I'm watching Clarkson. Because a) for some unknown reason I like Top Gear, even though it is utterly repulsive and b) because they're in Vietnam which is the place I want to go to most in the world.

Muser · 06/06/2010 20:30

I'm watching the Baftas and making risotto. Maybe I am a domestic goddess. No, wait, flat is a tip.

Medee · 06/06/2010 20:33

we're ebaying, as it is a free listing day.

Ariesgirl · 06/06/2010 20:33

Oooh, the Baftas. Now I need to triple flick.

Scorpette · 06/06/2010 20:43

I want to buy off Medee! Do link elsewhere! (If you want to, I mean)

I didn't like James Corden's coaching thing, but I did like Gavin & Stacy. I generally prefer my humour dark as coal; Chris Morris, Julia Davis, etc. Jimmy Saville is a stone cold freak, that's fo sho.

Am watching the BAFTAs. Being Human didn't win (a travesty!), so I don't feel guilty about not letting Mitchell out of the pit now. Hope Charlie Brooker wins. Charlton! Charlton! Charlton! Win! Win! Win!

Ariesgirl · 06/06/2010 20:52

Oooh oooh look - JoyBESH has got a Bafta! Wasn't she brilliant?

PerfectDromedary · 06/06/2010 20:52

Charlie Brooker - I would. No question.

Muser · 06/06/2010 21:03

I cheered when JoyBESH won the Bafta. Great programme that.

Ariesgirl · 06/06/2010 21:11

FUCKING BASTARD DIGITAL BOLLOCKS. TWATS.

WHY does my signal twitch and hop like a bunny rabbit? It even makes weird cheeping sounds. That's it - I'm moving to London where you get good signal.

Muser · 06/06/2010 21:19

Fuck. Brooker lost to Piers Moron. No justice.

Medee · 06/06/2010 21:43

why was Brooker against BGT? But yay for OBEM.

And sorry, but Diversity was boring. Clever moves but the content made no sense.

Nah, Scorps, it's just random crap and MrM's computer stuff rather than anything of any real interest.

Scorpette · 06/06/2010 21:52

Brooker has won our hearts, that's the REAL prize

Was so YAAAAY! that JoyBESH won. Especially as they chose a choice clip of her being a proper cow to show I get in those cowbag grooves over stuff and TYF blithely ignores me and carries on adoring me

Simon Cowell being all sulky when he lost to The Inbetweeners was most amusing. Big baby.

Muser · 06/06/2010 21:52

Hmm, the tiny bit of FFJ I had this morning vanished in a most uncharacteristic manner. What can it mean?
